Your mom is so cute, she reminds me of my grandma. She would just be so practical and just eyeball everything and grab hot stuff with her hands.I loved her so much, makes me happy to see your mom cooking☺️
🙏🏻 Thank you, thank you, thank you!! My Mother passed away this past June, & it was unexpected. I thought I’d have years to make pizzelles with her, but sadly I wasn’t that lucky. So people, bake with your Mom now, because u never know what the future holds. My Mom’s Mother In Law was born in Italy, & this is almost her exact recipe. Also this is almost the exact recipe for Biscotti ( 5 cups of flour instead of 3) Enjoy 🎉& thank you 🙏🏻 again for this video! Very helpful & greatly appreciated
I cried watching this video. This was the best tradition growing up making these with my mom. I’m trying to carry on the same tradition with my children but they are more concern eating then helping. Lol Thank you God bless
Thank you ladies for this wonderful informative video! I love all the helpful tips and tricks because for years I would make pizzelles and they get too soft and your mom just solved that issue for me... thank you for the wisdom! My favorite part is where you were worried about your mom burning herself she just grabbed that pizzelle right off the iron with our hands LOL thanks again!
Love this. I make Pizzelle for an older gentleman who lives in an assisted living center and because of COVID has not been able to see family. He loves getting them in the mail and says it is a wonderful reminder of his heritage besides being his favorite dessert.
I always wanted to try to make these gems .my grandma used to make anise ones at Christmas when I was young I couldn't stay out of them I love them .many years ago I got a old school waffle maker at a garage sale and went to clean the plates to my surprise on the back of the waffle plates was 4 wafer designs can't wait to finally make and enjoy them again and stop buying them at the grocery store here in Michigan . when you and your mom was making them my mouth was watering thank you so much for the recipe
A lot of fun watching you two make Pizzelle's Enjoy those cooking times with your mother. Blessings and thank you for the video. Steve in God's Waiting Room.... Florida
I love your mom! I just found out about these from my sons boyfriends. He had me try one and they were so good I just bought and received a pizzelle maker today. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for inviting us into your kitchen for clear view of seeing you and your mom make pizzelle cookies. It seem every Italian family their own variation of this lovely cookie recipe. Pizzelle are considered to be one of the world's oldest cookies and its wonderful to see each family keep the recipe alive for others to make and experience. I have made the cookies since learning to make them as a boy. My mom had a iron and she baked her cookies on the stovetop Christmas Eve. Thankfully we graduated to modernity with an electric iron
These are amazing! They remind me of my Nonna's pizzelles. She was from Abruzzo. I've tried so many different recipes, but this one's the closest to how I remember them. I made one simple adjustment. I used Anise oil rather than extract. Of course, it only requires 1 Tbl since oil is stronger. Thanks for sharing!
Oh-io I’m from Ohio and a co-working gave me my first Pizzellas as a gift this last Christmas. OVER the top Yum Yum!!! bought a Pizzellas maker and can’t wait to make them for my family. Using your recipe, your Mom gave great tips that will help making them easier. Also nice to see someone who also cleans as they bake.
Love seeing you and mom cooking together. Pizzelles are the one thing i miss the most doing with my mom. Oh and always we used Anise oil never vanilla. Thank you.
Wonderful ! Makes me nostalgic How Wonderful do do a baking video of a family favorite with your mom I think I’ll be getting a mini Pazelle maker to do more than just the cookies I plan to make mini waffle cones for cake pot treats and my daughter saw cannolis in a movie and has been begging me to buy her some. Teachers and school staff love it when we make them super cute and tasty treats. I get creative. Thanks for sharing
Your Mom's recipe for Pizelles is the exact same as my friends, Bonadona & Latina families in south Louisiana. Really enjoyed watching you two together in the kitchen!
Hello! You two are so cute! Missing my mom right about now because she used to make these for us kids. We're not Italian, but grew up in an italian neighborhood. Thank you for sharing your expertise "Mom!" 😊 I'm going to make these for my boys for the first time ever! I received a pizzelle iron today as an early birthday present from my husband because I've been nagging at him, ha ha! God bless you and your family and have a Merry Christmas!
Yes!! I love anise! I wouldn’t want to eat them with vanilla. It’s just not the same! You guys sound like my family. Half of us like the anise half don’t. I love vanilla but these and I dk how to spell it...I tried to google it and can’t find it anywhere but the really common Italian cookie we call viscuts just aren’t the same with vanilla! Hopefully you know what I’m referring to! Now I need to go make these!!
Verna thank you for your recipe. Also you explain how to make the pizzelles so well I will be making some on my pizzelle iron for the first time and will be using your recipe ❤ joanie
You both are so cute! I thought the bowl would be too small but mama knows her stuff! 💕 I like to add a little lemon zest in mine and almond extract. They're all yummy!
OMG .... your pizzelle maker looks brand new compared to mine! Your mom reminds me of my late grandmother who taught me her recipe, and who pizzelle maker I have.
Are these called krumkaka coronaries ? Thanks for the recipe ! I will make sure my living will has been updated. Lots of butter, eggs, sugar, cholesterol....I ❤️ it !! Lol
I have an old Magic Maid Pizzelle iron that came with basically the same recipe, just only 1/2 the amount of each ingredient except the baking powder. It calls for 1 tsp of baking powder instead of 2. My only problem is the batter seems too thick. I am supposed to put 1 tsp of batter on each pizzelle (which are the same size as yours about 5") and they only come out about 1-1/2" round. Any suggestions as to get them more liquid to squeeze out better?
I see you have not done a video in awhile... but we are from OHIO, I see your Starbucks OHio Mug... we have the same recipe, except we have 2/3 cup of Oranges juice and 1/2 cup more of flour... Loved watching the video..
My family has a laaaaarge recipe so we put a whole little bottle of anise in ours instead of just the 2tbls haha I hate licorice but growing up with Pizzelles I love them!!
Can I use anise oil (not extract)? If so, how much? Edit: Your mom is adorable btw. She reminds me of my Nonna. Strong Italian women. They know what they like, and what works for them, so they stick to it! Glad I found this channel. Plan to look for homemade gnocchi recipe next! 😉
I came across your video & is this the Chef's choice pizzelle maker? I have been looking for a maker but was not sure what maker to buy. Is yours non stick? Thank you.
Very enjoyable to watch a Mommy and Daughter bonding moment. it's great that the recipe is handed down. I watched this video to see the consistency of the batter. Mine was more like dough so I must have stirred it too long. thank you for your help . Mangia! (Hamburg NY)
How much Sugar do i put in? Watched the whole video a few times trying to figure out the Sugar amount LoL. You remind me at my mother, god bless you both !
I know this video is a few years old,but hope you see this and could help me out please? I recently got my first Pizzelle maker.I have had no issues making the cookies. They are exactly as they should be with one exception. No matter how much Anise we (hubby& I) have added they do not have a strong enough Anise flavor. So I bought another brand in a new bottle, but had the same issue. Weak Anise flavor. We doubled, then tripled the Anise yet to no avail.Any suggestions? Otherwise everyone loved them with each batch we made. Thank you!!
Gota a colher no centro do ferro pizzelle quente.
The 3 base recipes that came with my VillaWare brand baker all use cooled melted butter. The booklet even says explicitly not to use oil... I'm not sure why.
You are so lucky to be making these with your mother. Great memories for you. Thank you for sharing

Great video with mom. I'm gonna try making these. I bought a premade box of pizzelles and love them. I know homemade is better.

I don't like the anis either. I put the 2 tsp vanilla, an 1/8 anise, 1/4 lemon, 1/8 orange. The mixture taste phenomenal!!

Wow, you both work well together How many Pizzelles do you get?
Watch the steam ...that helps with timing? Looks like you could vary sizes a bit.
My family has a laaaaarge recipe so we put a whole little bottle of anise in ours instead of just the 2tbls haha I hate licorice but growing up with Pizzelles I love them!!
Wow, that must really make a lot of pizzelles! Do you take turns making them or does 1 person have to make the whole batch?
I live in Ohio too ! I use the anise oil they sell at the pharmacy , I use 1 bottle it’s perfect . Say 3 hail Mary’s they come out perfectly cookie .

Hi Mari how many cups of sugar had been ?
Omg you guys crack me up
What is the pizzelle maker you are using?
What brand is your pizzell maker?
How would you bag them for a bake sale
I’ve made these with both anise and vanilla together. You can’t taste the anise. I omit the vanilla.
What brand iron please? Is that Teflon?
Do you sift your dry ingredients?

@@rosemariesofikitis4605 That IS what we used.various brands plus chopped up seeds.None give a strong flavor like store brands do.

How much sugar
Where from can I buy a Pizzelle Maker? Thank you!
Amazon
How much sugar???????
Instead of margarine use butter and instead using your finger use another spoon to put the batter into the iron. If you time them they won't burn.
I hate black licorice but love anise. I personally don’t think they taste the same! Maybe it’s bc of the sweetness.
Where is recipe
Thank you. You're beautiful ❤
can you use butter instead of margarine? Margarine is so bad for you
The 3 base recipes that came with my VillaWare brand baker all use cooled melted butter. The booklet even says explicitly not to use oil... I'm not sure why.
Never did show the ingredients
I only use real butter.
That lady is barehanding hot lava disks.
Great recipe....bossy daughter... would make the poor mom a nervous wreck
I watch the whole video and you never posted the recipe

Perché non metti la traduzione in italiano??? Invece di parlare in inglese, e non ti capisce nessuno, in Sicilia.
Please don’t call them Pizzelles. Pizzelle is the correct spelling
