Let's talk about the 10 Money Habits You Should Start Today. These are all money habits that I have done in the past that have helped so much on my financial journey. I hope they will help you along yours. Guess what!? I have created my own budgeting course!! It's called Budget on Paper and you can receive a $50 discount by using the coupon code TOMRUclips at checkout before June 2nd. Great video! We think EXACTLY alike. I do 9 of your 10 money habits. My financial road to saving started with a WRITTEN budget - not a budget in my head. I also realized that it didn't always have to be a large chunk of money (especially when you're just starting this journey) but that consistency and a firm determination was the key. Currently, I have seven savings accounts- yes seven, and they all have a specific purpose. In addition to my emergency account, I have a regular savings (for extra costs that could pop up); an auto repair account (even though my car is quite new); a house repairs account; a vacation account; my "dip-in" account (my version of the "blow" account); and since I am moving in two year, I also have a move account. Some of these accounts (auto, home repair, dip-in) only gets $25 a month, but I go into these accounts only for the reason that they were created for. At first it was difficult to handle multiple accounts so I did automatic deposits. But now I'm so focused on saving that I don't need the automatic deposits. I hope people will take your advice. They will find that it is such a relief to have funds available when you need them. That feeling of relief can only be accomplished with saving.
When you said to budget for fun, I was like, wait, what?! It was when you explained why it was important that I realized how it could be beneficial. Being able to follow a budget was already hard when I started budgeting this year. But with this tip, it might be more enjoyable. Thank you 😃
I really love this video! We have been living a frugal lifestyle for awhile and due to a better job and some lifestyle changes we are really going to get our butts in gear for saving for ours and our children’s futures. You gave me a lot to think about and go over with my fiancé. Thank you!
I’ve never called it blow money (I really like your name for it!), but I believe it’s imperative to have that extra cash. Even if you are still paying off debt, knowing that you still have a little play money or can splurge on something special helps to keep the flow of money positive vs having a negative or restrictive feeling about budgeting. 👍
I absolutely adore your channel and content. Thank you Aleina. I can't express how truly valuable videos like yours are for someone from a community that hasn't been historically taught financial literacy. Bless you
just realized YNAB helps me do most of these things automatically or easily and no i'm not naturally good with money!! You channel and videos are amazing, thanks for all these great tips!
Thank you so much, I find your videos so helpful. I have never really been in control of my money so I’m a little new at budgeting and saving. It’s a little overwhelming at times 😉
You are quickly becoming my favorite RUclipsr! Great advice on budgeting and planning all around, it makes sense and is doable. And your nails are inspiring me to get mine done!
I'm definitely considering your course that's coming up really quickly, the thing is, I didn't add it to my budget, lol. I may have to take it the next time around.
I Agree, knowing the exact amounts when it comes to debts, fixed debit orders or budget amounts has insane advantages especially in unprecedented situations or unfamiliar events:) It will really help you to be more in control in general on your finances!
It's nice to have savings at the top of the budget....but I see rent/mortgage, and utilities as the least negotiable with their deadlines, then food and then savings/investment before other things.
Wish I could get the hang of it I have tried it all and for every reason it hasn’t work? I have watched a number of your videos, took notes, ordered items from Etsy. I thank you for all your work and sharing. I’m discouraged ☹️
These are wonderful tips. I follow many of them already. I’ve just recently been striving for multiple streams of income for myself. Currently I only have 2. 1 is designated for my car and the expenses that come with it and the other handles everything else but I am seeking more streams to designate for different purposes. Your hair is stunning 🤩
