Being the underdog can be tough sometimes. When the odds are against you, push forward to be better than you were before. The work you put in to come out on top is all part of living full out.
If running is what you love then prove it to the others! You CAN do it. YOU have to show them the difference between THEM and YOU is that YOU will die running, and THEY will die sleeping, you aren't afraid to hurt to win, you aren't afraid to give, to gain, you aren't afraid, show it to them, and you push yourself, Put more power with every stride. And you see someone passing you you tell yourself your slacking, cause you are. BE what you LOVE.
I discovered this the other day when working out, if you concentrate on something else, completely shut your mind from what your doing, you won't even know your running, you won't even know how far you've gone, how hard your pushing, and as soon as you do that, Push with all of your might, take the longest, most powerful, quick strides you can, with every stride put your all into it, and remember, when you win, nothing else matters besides the fact you did what you wanted. Time to push more.
truth of the matter is that your not training hard enough. here's a tip. train like you feel like your going to die, train until your okay with dying, then train some more until the bitter sweet realization that your not going to die and then fight some more. If you can find the courage to do that, the fear will go away and the feeling of "I deserve to win because I trained harder then anyone else here" will surface. I'll be going for my pro license as a boxer in 2 months.
I am a 400 runner myself. The fear is all mental. You just have to trust in yourself that you are in fact better than you think. Sometimes you just have to tell yourself " I'm sick of being last, today is my day" and just go. If you trained for it then put it into action and go get whatever your goal may be. But yes most importantly: Never give up. Don't quit till you have nothing left.
Amazing! While you train you have to believe you are about to do something no one else can do. You have to be willing to put yourself in harms way. In order to change, you have to experience danger.
most of all, keep fit and get someone to point out your strengths and weaknesses to you. Try to learn one new thing a day. Even something that looks simple but wuold give you ability to get out of tricky situations in matches.Make sure you're light on your feet. Most of all just be enthusiastic, healthy and willing to learn. Never giving up or giving in is half the battle.
tried to think about something else, something I loved, something I enjoy doing, but you know what, running is what I enjoy, what I love, and fck it all,I'll keep doing it,enjoying it and eventually when i push myself to my limits on track,I'll know I've conquered myself
Remember its not about a pro card.... recognized that in every session of training its about how hard you pushed....if you can walk away from that (one moment) saying I gave all I could in that moment then you are a champion. Its called growing inside-out instead of outside-in. thank you for the motivation....drive on
When everyone else is making fun, crapping on you and saying, "Who you?" keep training, keep working, keep studying. There is always a time when the competition lets up or forgets and you pass them or put them down on the canvas. Forget the misbelievers and your own self doubts. You cannot put a limit on the human spirit.
I ran 400m at my meet last week, my first 400m of the year, i only had 2 days of practice for it, turning onto the final 100m i wanted to drop, physically i was done, but mentally, i knew i had enough to finish, i then saw a guy come up behind me at about 350m, i just pushed myself to beat him, i did not give up even when i knew i couldn't go any further, i finished third, not the best, but not the worst, that point is, i didn't give up, and that's what you have to do. Not give up.
haha its ironic im usually one of the most optimistic persons to be honest :P but yea I get what you are getting at,and dont worry,im trying, and im running, and im doing my squats,my laps my everything to do better, but sometimes,we all have that ''im a failure'' time, but im trying! and good lukc to you on getting into high school cheer team!
I've put this on my quote page which is hanging on my wall. I too want to be a boxer. My current obstacle is to impress the head coach to let me get license to be amateur
Block out everything else.. Only focus on one step at a time.. Right, left, right, left... Focus on nothing but the next step.. And when you take that last step... You'll be the first one to cross the line..
I see where you are coming from, but that was that one time thing, I get it will still infect me, but since my coach thinks I'm more of a distance runner, I will obviously practice more than how much I did for that meet, I just had little practice because I found out a few days before the meet.
1.Train until you can't move a muscle 2.train some more 3.practice your footwork everywhere you go (EVERYWHERE) 4.play for your school and other outlets 5.Go to pick up games 6.Play in college 7.Get recommendations from Coaches 8.Apply online for recruiting 9.Eat right and exercise 10.Practice practice and more practice
let me guess when you exit the first turn and see that back straght you just stop pushing i have the same problem with 400metres thats why im here and it did actually help
Your probably right. But there is a difference between a winner and a loser. The champion digs deep and finishes while the loser gives up. Professional athletes may die early but they have accomplished something. I would rather die while having a fire in my chest that keeps me moving forward rather than live a life of complacency and stopping. The only limits are the ones you set or yourself.
No, i did it because my coach had put me in the 400m, and i wasn't gonna back out of it, if i wanted to do it myself i would have put in much more practice, but finding out 2 days before the meet, there wasn't much more i could do
Some people are just good at some things and bad at others....you just cant change that, you can be better at running but some people are just born for that way and they will be better than you even if you work the same amount a time or more...see Usain Bolt is built for running, thats his thing and he discovered his good at running....but maybe you are made for mental obstacles like maths, maybe thats your thing...just think how other people wold love to have your talent :) be happy for your gift
If you've never won a gold medal and the person you're going against has won 12 already the odds are against you, but this isn't a math test it doesn't matter what the numbers say

I dont know why,i train i train i train,i fail the fucking 400metres,my concentration blows or something :S but in math,i study i study i study i pass the test as one of the best students on the year....i want to get rid of my fear when running,i hate it,i hate when i cant do my best because of myself

too bad i watched this to get motivated to study for my math test

Everybody has underestimated us. We may not be state champs this year, but it will come.

Never give up. You have the motivation and the drive to run, you can do it!

I see where you are coming from, but that was that one time thing, I get it will still infect me, but since my coach thinks I'm more of a distance runner, I will obviously practice more than how much I did for that meet, I just had little practice because I found out a few days before the meet.
True to Caesar!
people may pick on me, but when im in my three point stance in the trenches, im fearless.
1.Train until you can't move a muscle
2.train some more
3.practice your footwork everywhere you go (EVERYWHERE)
4.play for your school and other outlets
5.Go to pick up games
6.Play in college
7.Get recommendations from Coaches
8.Apply online for recruiting

I wish that youtube would allow us to see who disliked a video as long as there was only 1 dislike and more than 100 likes.
No, i did it because my coach had put me in the 400m, and i wasn't gonna back out of it, if i wanted to do it myself i would have put in much more practice, but finding out 2 days before the meet, there wasn't much more i could do
