The ball bounced back and forth between the backboard and the front of the rim a bunch of times, then bounced straight up and down on the plate between the rim and backboard until if finally came to rest on the plate. The whole time we were jumping up and down anticipating a rebound, but it just sat there. Finally, the refs had to get another ball just to knock it down.
