And Tony remembered it. I don’t think Tony was afraid of Feech stealing his spotlight in any way whatsoever. Feech was simply disrespectful and felt he was owed so he started taking without asking. He was bad for business and Tony wasn’t going to allow it. Fool me once, shame on you/Fool me twice, shame on me. Moving on turf without asking and then not kicking up twice is not a good sign. Feech screwed himself with his hard headedness.
Feech was a time bomb. From his perspective, he gets out of the can and is now expected to show obedience, respect and deference to a younger man. Not just any younger man, but the very one who once robbed Feech's card game to make a name for himself. Multiple characters expressed disdain for Tony because he was a relatively young boss, but Feech was especially dangerous. To him, it was personal.
Everyone has mentioned that Feech was a legend and was feared. Something that wasn't said about Dimeo, Johnny Boy, Corrado, Richie, etc. Most likely Feech was some ultra macho, alpha male type, and his actions/personality/behaviour reflected that. He was also similar to Paulie, a now older guy, with no wife and no kids.... Beansie correctly stated that all Paulie has in his world is his image... Feech is the same, he only has his image, thus he made sure it is maintained.
Feech was actually mentioned as early as season two, Richie mentioned he saved Tony and his brother from the hit parade after robbing Feech's card game.
Feech was a natural leader. He understood all the things that Richie didn’t when it comes to relationship all the little things. Bottom line is Feech was a man who could sell it, and Tony saw it coming.
@@CertifiedSlamboy Youre right i watched the actual show. Nowhere does it say feech was in jail with Tony B. It makes it clear Angelo and Tony B are cellmates or at least very close in prison and Angelo was at Levenworth.
Feech was going to continue to overstep because he felt entitled. He knew that stealing the cars at the wedding was wrong. He endangered the Executive Card Game.
@dmartig1 I agree with you 100% - Remember when the doctor friend went to Tony for help. The executive wasn't just for mob guys - outsider high rollers were also involved - if they don't feel safe anymore it would kill the business.
Feech was just plying his trade. It was NOT wrong to steal those cars from those rich, privileged bastards. They can probably afford 5 cars plus they have insurance up the ying-yang.
The dangers of sending Feech back to prison is that Feech knew a lot about Tony's dealings in the criminal World. If Feech wanted to, he could have easily given the FBI strong tips on how to bust the "Godfather". Yes, Feech was old school and the odds of him "snitching" were low, but if he came to the realization that Tony set him up, he may have well felt giving the FBI information was acceptable. Feech would die in prison and could have given a death bed confession. For all we know, the killing of Tony Soprano could have been partly due to a Feech confession in prison. If he didn't talk to the FBI, he could have given New York inside information.
Never thought of that. What a storyline idea! I watched all these live on Sunday night as a younger guy, the wait between seasons was brutal (these kids today have no idea). Still learning new things about this show all these years later. Best. Show. Ever.
No way how? Once he gets violated feech is useless to the feds.... He's can't give them anything unless he's on the street. What is he going to do tell him what they already know?
"Well, it's a good thing your book means OOGATZ to me!!" LOL I love how you always manage to put these Sopranos one-liners at the exact right time. I always look forward to it, extremely clever..
@jruss9851 lol I've just learned this from Spell checks newergrammer feature . I assume it comes from the casual/ slang way one speaks. I had to clarify it with my college educated friends ..lol ( my 8th grade education fails me again)
I like how you can kinda see some parallels with how Tony handled Feech vs how he handled Vito. Feech commanded respect, and held the traditions of la Cosa Nostra with pride. He was a stand up guy, and he brought fear and respect everywhere he went. Meanwhile you had Vito, who was reduced to Captain of the Good Ship Lolipop. However, where Tony defended and delayed Vito's execution, he wasted no time in dealing with Feech once he was recognized as a problem. And it all boils down to how Tony viewed the Mafia. This wasn't a brotherhood to him, it was a business, and the only thing that truly mattered at the end of it all was how much money each individual man could make him. Feech had to be pushed and prodded to give Tony a cut of low-end scams and robberies. Whereas Vito raked in millions off of construction. At the end of the day, reputation and respect came second to Tony.
I think Feech’s apology was genuine but Tony still felt threatened by Feech’s propensity towards violence for the sake of violence. Sal the gardener is the best example of it. I would have handled him the same way.
Feech was still butthurt about the poker game and being forgotten in prison and still holding a grudge, it was eating him alive that Tony is the boss, and could not believe he had to take orders from him nevertheless. Tony could've been a better leader cleared the air, and used him he was a solid old-school guy that would've helped the family
I think it was evident Feech didn't like Tony, and probably thought he should be dead from robbing the card game. And held clear resentment towards him over it. When he told the story, he presented it like he was over it but was trying to humiliate Tony when telling the story. I don't think he was going to change, not just because the times changed. Because he didn't like or respect Tony. He apologized, because Tony is the boss and he does respect tradition. But he can't help himself. Like leopard can't change its spots. Feech's dislike for Tony wasn't going to either.
I have to say I was so incorrect about my initial comments about the gentleman running this channel… he puts out great content, makes hysterical references to the show/movie, and does a awesome job with the analysis and breakdown he does in each video - keep up the great work pal 🙌🏼🙏🏻👌💪✌️💛
“Nipping it in the bud” with Feech was maybe the wisest thing Tony did. And while it ended up being his defiance in the Tony B. situation that led to his ultimate demise... if Feech had stuck around, the unrest from within his own ranks would’ve probably done them in. Richie wasn’t as well-liked as Feech. He made his own bed with the whole Beansy ordeal. Feech could have caused major problems for Tony... far beyond anything Richie or Ralph ever did.
One thing I never understood was how sending feech to prison didn’t cause problems for Tony. Tony and sil obviously knew about it and Christopher and Benny were in on it so I’m sure a lot of other ppl either knew about it or figure it out. The boss of the family setting up one of his own guys to go to prison definitely isn’t a good look and I’m surprised it never caused any problems for him.
It definitely did cause problems, even if not explicitly. By the end of the series morale was basically non-existent in Soprano's camp and this helped so little.
IIRC, the first mention of Feech was even earlier than when Ralph tells Jackie, Jr. the story. In season two, Richie Aprile mentions the card game robbery to Tony.
@alyssarichardson2544 Even if he was made at a very young age like 20, it's highly doubtful that he would move to the US and pickup an American accent like that.
Many mafia members evading police go on the run. Feech was most likely first generation, so he could have uncles and cousins back in Italy. He could have went there hiding on serious charges until he figured out the case or witnesses. Unaddressed, but that was the way to both cover that error and make feechs legend grow.
No big deal, but just a couple things I’d like to point out. Feech was actually first mentioned in Season 2 when Richie Aprile told Tony “I’m the one who saved you from the hit parade, when you and my kid brother stuck up Feech La Mana’s card game. Feech was made before the electric light if it wasnt for me you 2 would have caught a viscous beating.” Or something along those lines. Also, I don’t think Feech was Tony B’s original best friend from prison because when Feech and Tony B are first introduced, Tony B tells Feech “I just missed you in prison by 2 weeks.” Sorry if my quotes aren’t exactly accurate. This is just what I remember off the top of my head. Great video by the way, I know I’m like a year late lmao.
They didn't take him out. This was kind of a low move but I think it needed to be done. He wasn't going to respect Tony as the boss and still saw him as a kid. Feech was at the age where he probably thought he had nothing to lose and was well liked enough where he could possibly try and put together a move against Tony. None of the options presented to Tony were very good.
By the way, the actor who played Feech, Robert Loggia, was so severely impacted by his dementia that he had a very hard time remembering his lines and would get lost in the middle of the scenes. Apparently his role was supposed to be much lengthier in the series but it had to be cut short because of this.
He wasn't actually diagnosed with Alzeimers until 2010 which was 6 years after he left Sopranos but yeah it was sad he couldn't remember his lines anymore and had to be written out of the show. He did a great amount of tv and films over his career.
Feech was a ticking time bomb. He would’ve done something that could’ve brought down the entire operation, or at least put additional Fed eyes on Tony. For his tough exterior there’s a chance he would’ve flipped rather than face the remainder of his life in prison.
I personally thought Tony made a mistake with Feech, he over-reacted a little bit because with Richie he under-reacted, so he tried to not make the same mistake but from my understanding, Feech wasn't going to betray Tony, sure he had problems taking orders and getting up to date with how things are now, but the way he said "I'll learn" sounded real like he had a hard time bowing his head but he did it, there's no real evidence that he was gonna go the 'coup' rout like Richie, and btw Tony was also disrespectful, he would try to assert dominance when they were hanging out, acting all insecure about jokes and stuff, that was too pathetic, to me it was part of the Theme in the last two seasons that Tony is completely paranoid and over-reacting and pushing his most trusted men away which led to his downfall, he pushed away Chris, he shit on Silvio even, his last straw to go against Feech was that slow-mo scene where he's shitting on Feech's jokes and Feech is looking at him with Disgust, but that look was about them hanging out and him not respecting the old timer enough, it wasn't the look of 'I'm going to back stab you' but anyway, they definitely left it up to interpretation
I think the thing that sealed Feech's fate was his remark on Johnny Sack. While New York and Jersey weren't open enemies just yet, their alliance was tense at best. And the moment Tony knew that Feech, a man who wouldn't bow down easily to him, was working with the other team, that's when he couldn't risk letting Feech stick around.
That's how I felt about Feech, he just came out of the can with delusions of grandure, but in the final scene with Tony he actually accepted his place.
I felt the same way. this was a tragedy because Tony did to Feech what he should have done to Richie, but it was not needed with Feech, Feech was not Richie.
Naw fuck Feech. He was a loose cannon. Going around busting up civilians like that over lawn mowin? How nickle and dime racket is that. He should have stuck to his Shy or something.
I wondered why Tony didn’t have Feech off’d and was surprised he just sent him back to prison. For instance, Tony had no plans of sending Richie back to prison. Part of it was Richie was younger and Tony basically sent a Feech back to prison to die. However I think he also didn’t have him killed because Feech back off of him and Jackie about robbing his card game. Tony’s Dad to intervene and that is why Feech didn’t have Tony and Richie killed. However I think that is why Tony sent him to prison to die rather then assisinate him. He also viewed Feech, for all his faults and annoying stories, an actual legend in the game and he knew that Feech was old school and wouldn’t cooperate with the Feds. He also knew that Feech was well liked and it would bad for business if he off’d a likeable legend like Feech who had developed a lot of respect in his crew. He realized it would be better just to send him back to prison rather then have him offer. Plus he remembered Feech didn’t go after him after he and Jackie robbed the card game, even though it was because of Tony’s Dad that he let Tony and Jackie live.
You forgot the main clue to Feech’s intensions. His first story to Tony after he got out of prison was about when he first got into prison and he purposely picked out the main guy in there and went for him to assert his authority. This is a man who does not settle for being under anyone else’s command. I think it was a little hint to Tony to look out
This man was an absolute legend & one of my favorite characters on the show. I tend to believe the book bc it does seem like Feech was going to be the next “problem guy”/antagonist for the season along with Tony B. I really wish he stuck around at least a few more episodes bc the actor had so much charisma & portrayed the character perfectly.
Tony knew Feech was going to be a serious problem right off the bat and undermining Tony's authority with the stolen car scam was the last straw. Tony had no authority to whack Feech since he was a made guy so he did the next best thing!
@@alexmuenster2102 Wouldn't Tony have had to have gone to NY to get permission to whack a made guy, just like any of the NY bosses would have to go to the commission? Of course in the Soprano world, anything goes, I imagine!
@@alexmuenster2102 Ok, so in real life, it was strictly up to the boss who got whacked, so why not just give Feech one of those fake construction jobs to keep him busy and be done with it!
@@prophetmargin7497 The Commission died with Luciano, they maintained the trappings for the sake of exploiting the system to individual families' advantage.
As Cineranter points out, Feech could have had value. If he had assumed a mentor role such as Silvio, perhaps the war with NY could have been avoided. Heck, Feech was buds with TonyB and perhaps could have saved TonyB from getting killed and the whole NY mess. The question here is... was Feech trustworthy and smart enough to become an asset or dangerous? It's a tough question in that if Feech had brains, he wouldn't have been tricked into getting busted back to prison. After all, Feech didn't fool Tony whose therapy and, quite frankly, read-the-room skills allowed him to ferret out Feech's entitlement attitude. It would have been interesting to see if Feech could have been made useful in a role but... that carried the risk that empowering in a mob politics role, rather than as an earner, would have meant Tony would be training his replacement. Heck, if Feech was alive, it's likely that NY would have clearly planned to whack Tony and replace him with Feech who presented a FAR better mob boss that they wanted to run NJ in the first place.
No. Feech was never going to respect Tony, he saw him as a kid still and had a huge chip on his shoulder going back to the card game boost. The main issue is how popular Feech is and how legitimate his claim to being boss could/would have been. Realistically if say Feech is not in the can at the time Jackie Aprille dies he very well could have been the boss just via earning, time in and how feared he was on the street. It was a lateral move instead of wacking the guy out just send him away for another 5 years.
The decision by Tony was the correct one. Feech just doesn't get that other guys are not going to voluntarily give up turf & earnings, or that the current capos and bosses are giving orders that have to be obeyed. Feech had a big personality, but the real issue was that he was basically not respectful of the new order and the people in it. He's not listening when they tell him not to carve out any new earnings without checking first. Feech is not an idiot, because he's building support among younger guys, trying to one-up people, and sniffing around for signs of discontent against the ranking guys. Tony's not an idiot; he sees this. He doesn't want to do something bad to Feech, because Feech could be a great potential capo for a crew, if only he would listen and show due respect to the guys already there. Instead, the way things were going, Feech was either going to end up dead by Tony's hand, or at some point by Paulie's or Christoper's. So Feech getting forced retirement back in prison was as merciful as Tony could allow himself to be.
I think that Feech was still angry at Tony about the card game robbery. Think about it. Some young punks rob you and get away with it? Then they are praised for the robbery? It probably tanked Feech's reputation and took away a lot of respect he had with his contemporaries. Tony and Jackie got saved because of Tony's father and Richie who were the underboss and capo of their family at the time. As feech said, they would've been marked for death if they weren't connected. I would've been upset at that as well and demanded compensation but unfortunately I doubt that would've happened due to Tony's father's position in the family. Feech literally got screwed and he couldn't do anything about it. Then he goes to jail and it festers only to come out and see that the person whom you hate a lot is now the boss. It's like a comedy and a tragedy.
It was the right move. Feech saying "I'll learn" seems to carry the subtext of "eventually", as if he plans to take his sweet time tapering down instead of stop when ordered to. Like he'd "methadone maintenance" instead of detoxing, figuratively speaking. He was a Wolf, he made it obvious - making it obvious when he was wearing Sheep's clothing.
He wasn't running a lawn mowing racket He wasn't taking any money from the lawn mowing company. He was just trying to help his nephew start a lawn mowing company. Paulie was the one that started the lawn mowing company racket.
To me the funniest Feech moment was when he brought the dandylion salad to Uncle June's. I guess it's an old guy thing from the depression era ... but I was like WTF ?
0:44 feech was actúally referenced by richie aprile all the way back in season 2. In one of the ealiest scenes where tony is arguing with tony, richie reminds tony about all the times he stood up to him. And tony inmediately says "What? When?" Then richie says "when you robbed feech lamanas game, if i hadnd intervene, you guys would have caught a serious beaaaating" Then silvio jumps in and says "yeah, and if it wasnt because of tony's dad's connections as well"
Feech doesn't strike me as being bright enough to be a consigliere. He'd be a helluva soldier in a war, but he doesn't have the "big picture " mindset. In the end, he's more Luka Brasi than Genco.
I kind of wrote this channel off as Looper-tier clickbait but there were enough genuine references sprinkled throughout this analysis that you're clearly a true fan. Nicely done
one thing I've noticed after watching a lot of these conspiracy theories about sopranos and the writing of the show, is that like decent art, they leave a lot up to interpretation which is great, even though a lot of these are too much of a reach, the way the story is written and structured gets you to that place where you feel like you're reaching, it has that characteristic
11:02 he wasnt trying to be nice to chris and benny! He was just trying to win them over to get info on anything he could get his hands on. And to offer them something to drink is an absolute insult to a made man. Both Chris and Benny know that they should be offered drinks of choice.
The part about French going to see Junior instead of Tony to get back in the game is because at that point in time, Junior technically still had the “stripes”. The way Tony presented things was that Junior was still the top guy and he was just acting boss on behalf of his uncle. The fact that Tony really was running things was a side agreement between Junior and Tony. The Capos and the FBI eventually found out that it really was Tony running things but that wasn’t until later in this season when Junior had to act mentally challenged for his trial.
No Tony wasn't wrong for doing what he did. He (Feech) wouldn't have learned shit (ugatz). He would've done something dumb a week from his apology, then 2 weeks from then, then 2 weeks from that, and so on and so forth. He would've continued to be a pain in Tony's ass throughout the rest of time.
I would say Chris has a few times where he disrespects tony in public, even questioning his leadership. The difference is that tony immediately corrects chris’s behavior and out of respect to dickie moltesanti feels it’s his job to straighten him out without harming him. But he doesn’t have any such feeling toward feech.
I have to agree, when I watched Feech apologize to Tony I was disappointed to see his second chance denied. But Feech's challenge to authority was more dangerous than Richie, Feech doesn't even have to convince people he's old school. His appeal to seniority was heavy and talked about the card game robbery as a master bitching about the success of an adverse pupil.
When Feech said he was making a deal with Johnny Sack for the cars, I knew that was the end of him - one way or the other. One of the few times I thought Tony made a good decision
Tge only one who truly got fuk'd was tge lawn care guy who was almost killed for working then he's got pay Paulies loose lips. Paulie was a little snitch not so much to law but other associates and upper management. One love
How is this even a question? Hell yes, Tony made the correct decision! Feech La Manna was the most resentful, disruptive, and volatile of all the incarcerated mobsters returning to society. He was a disaster in the making.
After Richie and Ralph, Tony clearly was developing a "zero tolerance" approach to insubordination or dysentery in the ranks - Tony B and Christopher's fate proving how far he would take this. Whether this was the right attitude or doctrine? By the time of the conflict with New York, I think Tony's crew looks decidedly weak compared to how it did in earlier years. Perhaps culling some of the more capable people just because they were hard to manage came at a heavy cost, however unforseen that was
If he was struggling to remember his lines from early stages of Alzheimer's, then holy hell.....it didn't show with his on screen performance. He was one of my favorite characters because of Roberts performance. I was hoping to see him and Paulie butt heads more through out the season.
Feech was a sick puppy. Tony had enough problems to deal with already. He had a few options. He could send Feech back to prison, k!ll him, or turn him into some kind of a cripple or a vegetable.
It's funny, I thought about this again just the other day. I actually really liked his character. There was a great scene where he's beating up Paulie's lawn cutting friend, and he says "You want me to fuck off?!?!? ... How bout I fuck off all over your stupid fucking face?!?!?!" Cracks me up just thinking about it. Also, it was planned for Robert Loggia to be in the full season, but they wrote him off b/c the actor could not remember his lines. So, perhaps his apology was 100% genuine, in part b/c the actor wanted to stay on the show.
Rather jail than the graveyard. He was stepping on too many toes. Greed and impatience was his downfall. Admittedly he was an elder figure who probably thought his time served without ratting entitled him to a few perks, he was vicious and inflexible.
I really think he was innocent and capable of learning cause I think this storyline with Feech is showing us something. Tony and the other guys all fetishize the old days (around Tony's childhood, Junior and Pauly's prime, the boom time for LCN after Prohibition and WWII cuts, etc) yet essentially all the characters that best represent that era like Junior, Carmine Sr, Phil, etc, are shown to be annoying, too old school for the current generation, and often times shown as broken down and weak like Terminator Bacala, Junior, Joe DiMaggio and his gang, or corny asl like Richie, etc. The show constantly shows us how flawed that hindsight is and how poorly they actually remember "back in the day". If the movie does nothing else, it shows us that Chase really wanted us to understand how different their memories were from the reality and how much of the gossip they heard was inaccurate, even going out of his way to write subtle differences into scenes we saw or heard about in the show. Some people seemed to view it as fan service but I always thought it was more significant even if it maybe wasn't the most creative way to demonstrate it. I don't think Feech was an idiot by any stretch and definitely think he knew making nice was in his best interest, but I always thought there was some level sincerity in what he said in his apology as well as innocence in all the things we see and that Tony views as evidence that he needs to go. In the end I think Feech could've been a potential threat but never would have stepped too far outta bounds and it was just a clash of old school vs new more than any real issue of betrayal. They say they love the old school but when they see it they don't like it. Feech seemed to respect the title but was just sore over the robbery, that he lost all those years and came back to kids running the show, all that, doesn't make him dangerous though. So no, I don't think it was necessary and I think killing him woulda been the kinder move but I also think that was probably the point.
Feech kept saying “in my day”, in his day if he was so smart he wouldn’t have went to jail. When he gets out he does petty things like beating up Pauly’s landscaper. I don’t think he was an asset at all, he was out of control. If he would have put his ego aside and listened to Tony I believe he would have eased on in and would have reestablished himself again. He just didn’t have the patience or temperament.
You couldn't trust someone like Feech any more then you could Richie Aprile, both were Captains, or major made men when Tony was just a punk ass mobster. Both of those guys seen themselves as more deserving of being the boss over Tony, I wouldn't have trusted either one of them and you couldn't run a Mob family with these two guys.
I dont think feech wouldv made a move against tony, but as soon as somebody else wouldve, feech wouldve been the first guy to take his side against tony.
I wish they put Feech in the Many Saints of Newark instead of Ray Liota's character, I mean how is Feech La Manna not there? Or Ercole DiMeo? These are the big names and I know David Chase had that cameo as DiMeo I guess, but how tf does he play a young DiMeo when he's so old?
Great episode this. I always felt a part of Feech understood that he had to adjust and i felt that his apology was half real but that ultimately a kooshty lap of honour for his retirement would never be enough as he would definitely get back to his old groove. You kind of feel for feech when he is giving the 'kids' high fives agter securing the tv for his help. Kind of summed him up in that one shot.
Tony sent Feech back to prison because in this part of the show when Feech set up the heist to steal all the cars from the wedding of the mob Doctor Tony knew, Tony already told Feech he a friend of mine meaning he off limits. Feech ignore that and didn't anyway when Tony got the call from the doctor about the heist Tony was outrage until Feech told him, Johnny Sac connected him with a guy where he can sell the cars. To me this indicates clearly Johnny Sac was gonna take a cut of that and Tony and Sil did discuss how well liked he is and how he could present a problem.
I was watching and listening to the sopranos podcast on MAX (HBOMAX) and they said Feech was supposed to start a war with Tony, but yeah his Alzheimer’s was getting the best of Mr. Loggia. He kept forgetting his lines, and Jim Galdofini was very patient and worked with him while filming etc. So his scenes and role were minimized.
It was such a natural payback for Feech to rob the Doctor daughter's wedding. As a kid Tony shit on his card game, so in return he shits on Tony's game by targeting one of his 'pigeons'.

@@toddpick8007you didn’t watch the video properly did you
@@CertifiedSlamboy Youre right i watched the actual show. Nowhere does it say feech was in jail with Tony B. It makes it clear Angelo and Tony B are cellmates or at least very close in prison and Angelo was at Levenworth.
@@CertifiedSlamboyThey both went to prison in 1980s and got out at the same time. But they never served time together in the same prison.
Feech was going to continue to overstep because he felt entitled. He knew that stealing the cars at the wedding was wrong. He endangered the Executive Card Game.
which is almost as severe a crime as disrespecting the Pizza Parlor.
@dmartig1 I agree with you 100% - Remember when the doctor friend went to Tony for help.
The executive wasn't just for mob guys - outsider high rollers were also involved - if they don't feel safe anymore it would kill the business.
He had to steal the car's before the crank wore off. He should have just went down to the shore.
@@vortega472 The doctor also took the bullet out of Furio's groin after Jackie Jr. robbed the card game.
Best. Show. Ever.
There was no danger there, Feech was an old school gangster and not a rat.
No way how? Once he gets violated feech is useless to the feds.... He's can't give them anything unless he's on the street. What is he going to do tell him what they already know?

Oh you would; would you? I gotta question your leadership.
One small correction at 0:46
Feech was first mentioned in Season 2 by Richie when him and Tony are talking in a mall.
Feech was uncontrollable. Tony couldn't kill em but could shelve him.
Yeah in real life they would've just killed the guy
I think even Carlo and Barase talk about it when Tony B was on the run
Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Carlo Gambino and Frank Costello allegedly set Vito Genovese up for dealing H according to some sources.
Tony is a rat
It definitely did cause problems, even if not explicitly. By the end of the series morale was basically non-existent in Soprano's camp and this helped so little.

IIRC, the first mention of Feech was even earlier than when Ralph tells Jackie, Jr. the story. In season two, Richie Aprile mentions the card game robbery to Tony.
you're right.
My question is; How the hell was Feech made on the other side yet doesn't have an Italian accent at all?
damn, when you put it like that it makes me realise how bad a plot hole that was :/
@alyssarichardson2544 Even if he was made at a very young age like 20, it's highly doubtful that he would move to the US and pickup an American accent like that.
Many mafia members evading police go on the run. Feech was most likely first generation, so he could have uncles and cousins back in Italy. He could have went there hiding on serious charges until he figured out the case or witnesses.
Unaddressed, but that was the way to both cover that error and make feechs legend grow.
It also could have been an urban legend within the crew.
Pretty sure they main new york
That dialogue between Tony and Feech about the stolen cars is legendary. Otherwise STFU!!!! The best STFU in tv history
“Feech stood no chance against criminal mastermind Ben Fazio” 😂😂🤣
They didn't take him out. This was kind of a low move but I think it needed to be done. He wasn't going to respect Tony as the boss and still saw him as a kid. Feech was at the age where he probably thought he had nothing to lose and was well liked enough where he could possibly try and put together a move against Tony. None of the options presented to Tony were very good.
He probably didn’t want to make a move, just earn on his own terms which undermined Tony.
Tony did the right thing. Feech wasn't going to kiss the ring. Ever.
@@chadwells7562 Probably not. Who knows though. He didn't think Ritchie was going to make a move either.

It was sad to watch the legend of Feech end after 3 episodes.
@@bernielomax4702 What's your fucking problem eh?
Great actor, great character Robert Loggia was a perfect choice to play Feech La Manna.
Feech was a ticking time bomb. He would’ve done something that could’ve brought down the entire operation, or at least put additional Fed eyes on Tony. For his tough exterior there’s a chance he would’ve flipped rather than face the remainder of his life in prison.
I love it when you throw in little quotes from the wire ‘the thing about the ole days, they the ole days’ - Slim Charles
I personally thought Tony made a mistake with Feech, he over-reacted a little bit because with Richie he under-reacted, so he tried to not make the same mistake but from my understanding, Feech wasn't going to betray Tony, sure he had problems taking orders and getting up to date with how things are now, but the way he said "I'll learn" sounded real like he had a hard time bowing his head but he did it, there's no real evidence that he was gonna go the 'coup' rout like Richie, and btw Tony was also disrespectful, he would try to assert dominance when they were hanging out, acting all insecure about jokes and stuff, that was too pathetic, to me it was part of the Theme in the last two seasons that Tony is completely paranoid and over-reacting and pushing his most trusted men away which led to his downfall, he pushed away Chris, he shit on Silvio even, his last straw to go against Feech was that slow-mo scene where he's shitting on Feech's jokes and Feech is looking at him with Disgust, but that look was about them hanging out and him not respecting the old timer enough, it wasn't the look of 'I'm going to back stab you'
but anyway, they definitely left it up to interpretation
I think the thing that sealed Feech's fate was his remark on Johnny Sack. While New York and Jersey weren't open enemies just yet, their alliance was tense at best. And the moment Tony knew that Feech, a man who wouldn't bow down easily to him, was working with the other team, that's when he couldn't risk letting Feech stick around.
That's how I felt about Feech, he just came out of the can with delusions of grandure, but in the final scene with Tony he actually accepted his place.
Although I disagree with you, this is a solid take. Well said
I felt the same way. this was a tragedy because Tony did to Feech what he should have done to Richie, but it was not needed with Feech, Feech was not Richie.
One could argue life with Janice would be a harsher sentence than returning to prison.
It was used as device in the show that he wanted to stop being so violent. The therapy was supposed to be working, at first
You forgot the main clue to Feech’s intensions. His first story to Tony after he got out of prison was about when he first got into prison and he purposely picked out the main guy in there and went for him to assert his authority. This is a man who does not settle for being under anyone else’s command. I think it was a little hint to Tony to look out
Did that guy even exist? Or was it just a story Feech told to re-establish himself in the pecking order?
This man was an absolute legend & one of my favorite characters on the show. I tend to believe the book bc it does seem like Feech was going to be the next “problem guy”/antagonist for the season along with Tony B. I really wish he stuck around at least a few more episodes bc the actor had so much charisma & portrayed the character perfectly.
Tony knew Feech was going to be a serious problem right off the bat and undermining Tony's authority with the stolen car scam was the last straw. Tony had no authority to whack Feech since he was a made guy so he did the next best thing!

"Was Feech's apology genuine?" No. There, I saved you 14 minutes and 9 seconds.
O wow! Your so cool, really made Cinranter look like a fool, should remember never to mess with you.
Wasn't Feech was actually mentioned in Season 2 by Ritchie? Off the top of my head I can't remember exactly
Bro him buttering his bread while he gives u a death stares if comedic godl
It was the right move. Feech saying "I'll learn" seems to carry the subtext of "eventually", as if he plans to take his sweet time tapering down instead of stop when ordered to. Like he'd "methadone maintenance" instead of detoxing, figuratively speaking. He was a Wolf, he made it obvious - making it obvious when he was wearing Sheep's clothing.

Feech, if loyal, would have been a scary wartime consigliere.
Feech was the most dangerous person that Tony ever faced and the way he dealt with it was masterful.
Nice analysis. I like how you worked in all the lines from the show too. Lol
If only Feech had been given soft drink of choice...
He would had been better off with 'The Jacket'.

Will you ever shut up,and let the story tell itself
Tony egg? Tony B!
I caught you’re “old days” Wire reference. Well done!
I don't even need to watch the video.. Hell no it wasn't
I like how you quoted slim Charles 🤝🏾💯🔥
“F! As in F u, it’s Robert Loggia”
I dont think feech wouldv made a move against tony, but as soon as somebody else wouldve, feech wouldve been the first guy to take his side against tony.
Feech wasn’t boss material himself, but he was a hell of a follower. He was like Phil Leotardo in that regard.
Great use of the one liners throughout. However comma Richie Aprile mentions the card game in season 2. That guy was made before the electric light.
13:24 is this mentioned anywhere? Phil was pretty quiet about his prison time
I wish they put Feech in the Many Saints of Newark instead of Ray Liota's character, I mean how is Feech La Manna not there? Or Ercole DiMeo? These are the big names and I know David Chase had that cameo as DiMeo I guess, but how tf does he play a young DiMeo when he's so old?
Great episode this. I always felt a part of Feech understood that he had to adjust and i felt that his apology was half real but that ultimately a kooshty lap of honour for his retirement would never be enough as he would definitely get back to his old groove. You kind of feel for feech when he is giving the 'kids' high fives agter securing the tv for his help. Kind of summed him up in that one shot.
His apology was fake. That should have been more than obvious.
Feech is actually mentioned back in season 2 by Ritchie. The "Feech was made before the electric light" scene in the mall with Tony.
