  • Blue motor via worm drive makes two orange shafts rotate in opposite directions.
    Orange cranks fixed to the shafts move up-down green table thanks to tangent mechanisms.
    Forces applied to all four legs of the table at the same time make the table move easily.
    This mechanism is used for large tables.

    Love the simplicity to keep things level and translating at same time/rate. As noted on other comments this needs to be engineered to match needs for lifting. Great job!

    Nice animation. But, I don't think easily doable. The torque created by the lever will be huge. The gears will see a lot of forces.

      @CompanyofHeroes999 Год назад +1

      Of course it's doable. Just have to dimension everything right. The upper part of the table can be made of aluminium, and this table could be used for light loads in the end, if bigger module gears don't satisfy.

    за оранжевые вилки можно задеть ногами или зацепиться штанами , а в целом регулировка высоты неплохо задумана

    table wouldn't be able to hold much on account the lifting arms might break or bend

    • @jimbarchuk
      @jimbarchuk 5 лет назад +4

      I thought about that, and other potential point-failure issues. Some bits look flimsy because they're drawn only enough to get the point across. To design it you need to name parameters, table size needed, expected weight to be supported, travel speed needed (it'll be slow.) The drawing is 'designed,' not 'engineered.'

    The table must be empty or it needs a big motor to lift it.

      This mechanism has self lock 🔒 and you can left it manual if you like it doesn't take big forces.

    Whats the details on this to build it

    • @jimbarchuk
      @jimbarchuk 5 лет назад +1

      These drawings are 'designed,' not 'engineered.' To make the design 'buildable' you first need to name parameters, table size needed, expected weight to be supported, travel speed needed (it'll be slow.) Next is some That Looks About Right guesstimates of raw materials needed. That will vary drastically depending on whether you want to lift a muffin or a motorcycle.
