- Julian Lennon - Say You're Wrong Official Video
You say you love me, but I think you're wrong
We've had times in the past when we weren't so strong
Well, I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
The times have changed, I can read your face
There's been so many lies and no tears with your cries
Well I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
I've been ashamed for so many years
I don't know how to cope when you bring out the tears
And I don't know which way to turn
'Cause I don't know which end to burn
I love you more than a man could say
We've been through a lot gone our separate ways
'Cause I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
I said I love you, well, I do
I don't know whether I'm wrong or whether I'm right
or which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn

When Julian looks back at his work I wonder if he realizes how good it is
I was in junior high school when this record came out. I just listened to this for the first time in probably 20+ years. It takes me back to the MTV glory days.
I remember after John died what a hole that left in our hearts. Then Julian came along, and we were all marveling how much he sounded like his dad. I wish we would have given him credit for how amazing he was in his own right.
I hope he does!!!
Takes after John with talent. His brother on the other hand kinda sucks...
I was kinda thinking that too.
Sean and Julian are from 2 different etas and Julian loves Sean. He would be sad to hear disrespect towards his brother. It is for Sean sake that Julian made peace w Yoko. You can not compare one talent to another when they are so different. Sean said his brother was a better singer , better voice, when they were older but does not disparage his talent in any way. Different yes but not bad. Julian inherited his father's vocal similarities and is very talented in his own right. We all have talents and gifts. It's finding how to use them and what they are, is the thing. Education needs to be better and keep including the Arts in curriculum. So much more talent is out there needing to be discovered.
"What are you watching?"
Me: a low quality video of the love of my life running in the snow after a train with flags in his hands while singing one of the best songs ever written.
This was played during the winter months in early 85. I remember being home for a snow day in Maryland and watching this on MTV. I was in the 9th grade. Long ago...
me too. MTV all the way. I was like 11 or 13 yrs old. lol. love this song
Yeah I remember it airing fresh and new the same winter it was shot. For those of us without cable, Fall '83 through 1986 was the age for late night music videos on broadcast TV.
me too! except in Wisconsin!
Julian was the next big thing in the mid 80's. The songs are great but the instrumentation and production of his music seems very stuck in the 1980's. Synthesizers, processed drums and polished compression.
same here, I always thought he was great at what he did, love this song
Sergey, this was filmed on the Severn Valley Railway in Shropshire and Worcestershire, on january 24/25/26 1985. I was one of the guys on the locomotive. It was very cold, but a very enjoyable job!
Living close to the Severn Valley Railway I visit it a lot, and every time we get to Highley I always think of this video & song. Shame they didn't get Julian to do the official opening of the Engine House at Highley, he could have sung this song whilst he was there. Of all Julian's songs this is definitely one of my favourites. And it's a pity that when they talk about everything that's been filmed on the railway over the years, Julian's music video never gets mentioned...
There is also the Joe Jackson video for "Breaking Us in Two" which has shots of a historic British steam train on Keighley and Worth Valley Railway at Oakworth Station. Different shots briefly appear throughout the video but the best images of the train start after ruclips.net/video/n7IGRNWVQkc/видео.htmlm56s though just before that there is a scene inside the station.
Your so full of it ,,shit that it
That;s cool leasow!
One of my neighbours,a Londoner of Welsh heritage who's over 80 and worked on a locomotive in the age of steam, tells me little anecdotes like cooking bacon and eggs on the hot shovel. In the mid-90s I worked with a lovely chap who worked on the railways in his native Zimbabwe, with grander stories to tell such as having to clear lions off the track.
He is a really talented man and a great humanitarian. Love you Julian.
Love this song, this man has such a wonderful voice.
@@darlenekanyo673 Rather like his daddy.
his momma raised him right
Julian is incredibly talented in his own right and probably never wanted to be in his father's shadow, but does he ever sound like John in this song. Love them both. They both evoke a peaceful feeling❣
My favorite Julian Lennon song. He sounds so much like his father. Love this!💕
Mine too, same here but the radio station where I worked at simply would not play it. Just "Valotte" and especially "Too Late For Goodbyes" over and over and over.
Yes I totally agree. On how much he really sound a lot like his Dad John Lennon. He very talented in his on right.
@@bobdavis4848 too bad'wonder why?
@@JuanEVelez he said he was camera shy and you spot it sometimes...later John said he didn't want to perform
@@lynnsmithershubbard1896 They like many commercial stations were fixated about chart positions, competing stations and pre-familiarity. "Say You're Wrong" did not make the US Billboard pop chart top 10 like the previous singles. it just missed the top 20. By the 90s it was perceived as having been forgotten. It charted higher than the other songs on the US Rock chart, but I was at a light AC station.
Sometimes, I choke up over this. I'm 39, and this came out when I was either 10 or 11. I threw most of my life away over stupid things. Now, I'm still trying to make something good out of my life. Here's hoping we won't take anymore 4 granted, and we'll know which way to turn by God's grace. Cheers Julian!!
This song was on the radio quite often when I was growing up. Loved it then & love it now!
one of the best 80 s songs
I really love this song! Despite being treated so poorly, he turned out to be a great guy!
@Joel Smith 100% agreed 😁
thanks to his mother ONLY
I second that much
Yes I agree Julian Lennon awesome singer and song writer and a great guy
Yes he did
I’ll never understand why he didn’t get as famous as his father for the incredible talent he has. I love seeing his face too, it’s like that face is a legacy gift for all mankind, of one of our most beloved musicians of all time. This is a flawlessly good song, as is the whole album! Love you Julian!
I don't know, its sad. Julian is an amazing musician.
Very beautiful
Julian is a great singer, songwriter..don't know why he didn't become as big as he should have.
Julian hated being compared to his dad when younger because he wanted to be recognized for his own talent just as everyone does. Later in life he was able to accept the comparison and know people were really saying how very talented he is. He grew to accept it as a compliment once people recognized him in his own right. His photography also helped him grow. He knew his own talent from young age as did his dad. We are so fortunate to have such beautiful man in our world. The more I see of him , the more impressed I am. He has grown better and better w age, although 2 of my favs are Much too Late and Vallotte. I absolutely love Saltwater and the beauty that shines all around Julian.
I pray he will find enduring love and have a family. He would definitely pass on a lot of talent to his own children and make a fine father.
A great song from Julian Lennon! This was a featured track on "American Top 40 - The '80s" (from May 4th, 1985), & was the #35 song.
Bravo, Julian!
And even Axl Rose got a theme from this song in Patience: "Shed a tear 'cause I'm missin' you…"
Actually, Patience is an Izzy Stradlin's song.
Julian you had to deal with alot from Yoko and my God your dad to. we love you n heard all your interviews. please keep playing.
You're so right plus having to deal with it publicly. It can't be easy.
I went to a Julian Lennon Concert with a Friend in the 80's and this was the Opening Song. I was in bit of a shock because he had cut his beautiful hair short. Anyway great concert all the way around.
I remember listening to this song on the radio when I was in the 1st grade in 1985.Never knew there was a music video that went with it until just this year 2020. My favorite song from Julien Lennon. The guy standing inside the locomotive looking out the window looks like Boy George.
2019!! still love this song
I was 14 when this song and video came out. Loved it right away. Without RUclips I would have only remembered Julian "chasing" the train on foot. Completely forgot the semaphore flags.
Me too!
Love the train and the snow, pretty. I love this video and the music to it. That guy is handsome too. Looks like a movie, I want to see the rest of it😘.
I love you, Julian Lennon! ❤️
Is it weird that I like the way he moves? Hard to explain exactly but very true.
This video is fun to watch and I think he's has class!
Julian you're truly talented and you're a complete bad ass!! Love you forever!!!
As a musician, I think julian influenced more of us than we even realise. His music is part of the cultural landscape we grew up in. The dude was way ahead of his time with stuff like "much too late.." While being super retro at the same time with his chord changes and arrangements. Dude, you are the real deal
I’ve always had a soft spot for Julian Lennon. He truly is a talent. Beyond that, you can intuit that he was trying to follow in is father’s footsteps who could have cared less about Julian. Instead, he dodged on that no-talent pos, Sean.
Good grief, he was Amazing. 💕 💕
He is amazing!❤
Love this song, it sounds like a Beatle song, and John singing it, but it's Julian, he's so talented and cute, love you Juilan!!!!
Good to hear this song again! Its been so long since I've heard this song. But I remember it very well!
The 80's I'd bring them back if I could!
@@b67y8y I remember listening to this song back when I was 11, Along with the other song by Ah Ha Take on me, I couldn't decide which one I liked better, But this one really is hard to beat in my opinion.
I somehow forgot about how good of an artist Julian is. I've been going back listening to all these wonderful songs again. Many times.
@Julian Lennon - Topic Thank you Sir!
Yep, and if I believed you were actually Julian, I’d send it in a heartbeat.
Who hasn't felt Lost in life? This song captures the feeling perfectly....and the musical arragement..... Just awesome!!!
Looks and sounds so much like his father. Almost sounds like an outtake from Double Fantasy.
I thought the same. Some weeks ago I listened to Double Fantasy ' outtakes. New York style...It sad JL did not continue his career. I love his eighties albums
@@Santiago7784 what? he made 6 albums...just didn't like touring--like his dad--after awhile
one of my favorite videos and song form Julian! :)
Me too!:) Makes me feel good: Like listening 2 a BEATLES' song too!:)
I hate this song beacause i remember to my good friend is HIT the train im scared because train is broken!??? Hahaha just kidding i like this song!!!

Julian Lennon is very talented awesome singer and song writer alot of great songs ❣️💙
Awesome song
Este es el video con el cual yo me identifique con Julian y supe de su talento. Gracias por compartir.
This is a great song that I had never heard until yesterday. Amazing.
Great song. Brings back memories of my college days. Relatively carefree days of studying for exams and going to dance clubs.
Thankyou my dear FRIEND JULIAN for this beautiful film of " say you wrown". Tu tienes talento beatle tal como tu padre JOHN. pretty old train, ¡¡ wonderfull!! THANKYOU DEAR FRIEND !! 👍💥👍😎
I love this .Julian is the comedian, which makes the lyrics more great listening..
The man sounds just like his dad John.
He is innocent and sweet. Keep up the great job, Julian. You're a great man.
Rock On Julian!!!!
Otra pequeña joya de Julian Lennon...
Oh, how we fans love Julian. What I see is talent from a humble, innocent, great
musician!!!!! Awesome young man!!!!
Way to go, Julian. You're outstanding!
Brill artist in his own right indeed.
It seems, and it's sad that none of the Beatles supported him in his music career including dad John!
You've certainly made your mark JL. All the best & regards
I remember this song. One of my favorites. Julian is so talented. He definitely inherited his parents artistry and a little bit of his father's voice. Really love this song.
Love this song🙏
I love Julian So much...30 years now.
Me acuerdo de esta cancion.!! Año 85, yo estaba en 8 basico.!! Yo 13 años...dejaba mi niñez atras..
Makes me realize how young I was.. We're the same age and he looks like a baby to me. I love that man❤
So super cute!! That hat....🤗🤗🤗🤗 Much better looking than his father.
I love it. Beautiful video. I remembered I was in Miami and also in 85. I was 19 years old . Since 84 i am a super fan of julian. Blessings always to you julian you are a beautiful person.
LOVE YOU Julian!!!
I never knew there was a video made for this single!! How cool - this and "Valotte" are among my all-time fave records. Shame his career didn't go longer, very talented.
actually, he's been recording and releasing singles and albums up to 2016, but his last charted song was in 1998...another for gotten Artist....
He's not forgotten. He still has loads of fans.
Thanks for giving my heart a beat to dance to all these years! ;)
I am glad I listened to Julian's music without any presumptions.... And I just live these songs. He deserves stardom on his own
I've always LOVED this song!💕🤸🤸🤸🤸🤸
This needs a remaster! One of my favorites
I have always loved that you write from your heart. You are blessed touched by that same special touch. Somehow it is real.I also feel that special something in me through my blood.
Great song!
You are a Good Loving Man ! God Bless You Love ❤️ JP
One of my favorite songs of Julian lennon. Love it.
Great song, Julian! Expresses exactly what it needs to as a pop song! I can really relate to the message in this song these days! These last few years have been a real trip to purgatory! I am glad you popped it up instead of delving into the darkness of melancholy! Thanks for crafting such a confused state in pop music so well, Julian! I am looking forward to many years of brilliant music from you! Don't let me down! LOL!
I heard. This first time tday and its upbeat n timeless and moving.
Julian has something special!
Say I don't know, how somehow he've improved his father style? But can hardly say he has developed his own spark on and on... through the years! Good Carry...!
I have this on record :D!! great song
God, we need this and his father now😬
Love this!
never knew he had a 3rd top 40 hit..and now i see why
A 3rd from the Valotte album. And another in Stick Around which was on the Secret Value of Daydreaming LP in 1986.
Oss 74... Puglia. Italia.. 💁♂️🐶☀️💙🌀🌀🌀🎨🖌️. Dopo il brano too late for goodbyes Ho ascoltato questo. Brano.. E lo trovato magnifico.. Perché emana un gusto un sapore. Straight Up Pop! Julian, you really do ROCK!

I just watched "Holding Back the Years" by Simply Red and it takes place
in a lovely English village and there is a train!! And of course "Say You're Wrong"
came out earlier... Great song!! Great memories!!
Julian Lennan has got class!
Aahh
Thanks for Posting all your work Julian
I’m 16 again listening to your 12” Vinyl
on an Auld Mono ACCA record Player
No Multi Channel MTV, just two Channel RTE in the sticks of Tipperary back then, just You and Madness
with the speaker cable of the Mono ACCA plugged into two PYE 1940’s Valve radios to give me “Stereo”
Looking forward to your new Album in September
Thanks Julian

It’s sad that John didn’t live to hear this. I’m sure he would’ve been very proud.
懐かしい。中学生の時アルバムを買い、毎日聴いていた。良い歌だ。

This lovely melody is a treasure house of the elements of pop.
