"One Of These Nights" by the Eagles was also the same way with me. What a joy it was to be 11 years old, living away from my family and hometown friends for 37 days, in the middle of the woods, 150 miles from home.

6 yrs old in June 75. I clearly remember hearing this on the radio as well as Daisy Jane, Love will keep us together, Magic by Pilot. Went up to Lake Erie to the family cottage and the car radio had these songs playing.
There were people around me in their early twenties that were into a lot of songs like this, and they were really cool people. As a teen, their musical tastes appealed to me. A lot of the albums from this era I bought. It was just such an amazing time of inner exploration and discovery. How can you quantify that, compared to today's decline? The decimation, and loss, of culture and creativity is incalculable.

Let's face it, he was a former Beatle and that's why his music was everywhere. That band was an encapsulation of an era! The 1970's. And so it was for a generation of young people, hearing it for the first time, making a lasting impression on young minds still learning. The combination of classical music with electric guitars was simply unheard of!That smooth segue at the end of the song, just when you think it's over, shows the creative, talented musical genius of Paul McCartney! A true artist!

It's 1st Jan 2023, I'm still listening to this, and I was there when it fist came out in 1975, it was a glorious hot summer, remember it well. I'm 68 now, where have the years gone.
I'm only 24, and 4 years ago I was alone... hearing this song again reminds me to never give up on love.

He says he didn’t know they were recording, he was listening and playing along to get a sense of where he might go with it. Said after concluding that he looked up when he heard applause coming from the booth where Paul and the engineers were clapping. They said a second take wasn’t needed, that they had what they wanted.
They actually DID try more takes, but they weren't as good as the very first one.
A song that opens the door to so long ago when summers were long and the TV was excellent, and so was the music, and this era of today was just a dim notion of a future. 6 yrs old in June 75. I clearly remember hearing this on the radio as well as Daisy Jane, Love will keep us together, Magic by Pilot. Went up to Lake Erie to the family cottage and the car radio had these songs playing.

There were people around me in their early twenties that were into a lot of songs like this, and they were really cool people. As a teen, their musical tastes appealed to me. A lot of the albums from this era I bought. It was just such an amazing time of inner exploration and discovery. How can you quantify that, compared to today's decline? The decimation, and loss, of culture and creativity is incalculable.
