I was the RV-12 pilot! Greg from Vans Aircraft bought that for me to fly in combat because he asked if I was going to fly my RV-12 I bought in combat, he said "If you build and fly it for combat, I'll buy you a new one". He took me over to the build tent and bought it, I stayed up all night building and finishing the next day. A plane got some string stuck in my motor after a mid-air. It was a lot of fun!
@shimes424 Radios have changed a lot, I'm not even entirely up to speed yet myself. I use a Spektrum dx8 mostly, its 2.4ghz, no crystals or channel assignments anymore. Interference and getting "shot down" is still a thing even with the new tech.
I was the duel motor wonder with yellow streamer at 18:05-18:30 got 4 kills total in that combat, those were me two hardest hits, not sure how I did not loose my wing on that second hit but somehow it held on!
This is one of the best Flite Fests. The weather was supposed to be rain for the entire event, but instead we only got overcast skies. It was great. It was as close to perfect as anyone could ask for.
I confirmed that DSM2 sucks in this event. I got about 30 seconds of flight then lost radio contact with the airplane entirely. It was worth a try, didn't expect it to work. But wanted to experience it first hand versus what everyone expected it to do. Kept it and myself off the to the left hand side of everyone else and the crowd and a ways toward the back.. Where it got dumped. It was nice to see that everyone else's 2.4GHz radios seemed to perform flawlessly in these conditions. And a lesson for me to never show up at FlightFest with DSM2 radios. I did fly my (OMP radio/Multiprotocol module) M2 helicopter later on without any radio issues while a ton of people were flying.
Hi Adam, this was one of the only Flite Fests I had to miss in the last 5 years, but I was there as long as I could be this weekend (6/22-23, 2024). Thanks for posting!
@4:18, that happened to me on Saturday afternoon; chasing the "chosen" plane, I got brutally smacked by another chaser and my Ugly Wonder went down hard!
Everyone always spends all their time trying to keep it in the air, not crash it that looks like a damn blast. Everybody get it relatively inexpensive plane and just go have fun. Great idea for somebody where else you gonna find that many pilots doesn’t really matter if you can fly very well lol it’d be more fun. That way you’d be taking people out need something with some EDC’s or the motor behind the wing to protect it God that looks like fun
You should check out our annual air show at the Iowa city Aerohawks here in Iowa , we have carnage during the air combat normally plus its just a great air show for everyone
@@RCwithAdam1 I believe I stayed up and ended up winning at the end when I heard steffan say “he’s so stoked” 😅after I hit that flite test flag where I also saw my same plane lol
great event👍👍, though I would advice the host to ensure all pilots and visitors well protected under a canopy than at an open air like that. lipo bricks, sharp pieces and wreckages falling from this derby are serious hazards yo
The radio tech keeps your plane receiver and transmitter link together, except sometimes the frequencies can get oversaturated and cause a loss of control. But I don't think that would lead to controlling someone else's plane.

Thats awesome to hear, a man giving an amount of his money to someone who its worth more to because you want them to have fun.. ❤
I'm the guy in the thumbnail for this vid. I know because I was the only guy in 2023 using an FM radio. And I have that shirt.
What do they use now? I was into rc cars back in the NiCd days, I think that was FM too wasn't it?

Okay, this just looks like a total blast!
Ikr! I’m totally going next year, you?
I’ll go if it’s in July
Great!!! I wish this kind of combat was held in Turkey. Super cool...
Beautiful entropy and chaos. That's what this is!
I was flying the orange Simple Scout. Whenever you hear Stefan say Lucas, he’s referring to me.
I was flying the big carbon cub glad to see someone caught the epicness of this combat
Dang you flew well! Really had a target on your back.
Wow! The carnage! I loved the footage from the air looking down on all the wrecked planes. Thanks for sharing.
The imagination that goes into some of these builds is incredible. Thanks!
AWESOME IN EVERY WAY.......THANKS 4 SHARING
My pleasure!
I'm just imagining all the radio signals invisibly bouncing around everywhere 😂
Thanks for capturing and sharing the chaos for those of us that couldn't be there!
My pleasure!
This is the first Flite Test I have completely missed due to work. Thanks for making me feel like I was there!
Glad I could help!
Thats insane. Id love to see that in person. Great video.
This looks amazing and stacks of fun, so I know it's going to be instantly banned in Australia
Nooo! I want Australia to still be a fun place so I can visit!
This. Is. AWESOME!

This is the coolest thing I've discovered yet!❤😮
Didn't know this was a thing and i like it....
👍
THAT LOOKS SO FUN AND SKILLFUL PILOTS
I'm the pilot of that flying triangle at the end of the video in the last combat with the target on the bottom
Wow, this looks so fun
It's creative. It's crazy. It's groundbreaking. It involves destruction. People can get hurt. Looks tremendously fun. This is the America we love.
@4:18, that happened to me on Saturday afternoon; chasing the "chosen" plane, I got brutally smacked by another chaser and my Ugly Wonder went down hard!
This is cool man.
"I'm talking, and I can't shut up!"
😂😂
A go pro on one of them would be cool to see from that perspective

Where/when is it?
This is like me spawning a bunch of things in a sandbox game
The cub was tryna do his thing😔
Amazing
The cub is awesome..
Best of SPEED
I saw my plane right in the beginning of this video as I crashed into the drone getting the footage😅
So YOU'RE the culprit!! Lol did you go down, too?
@@RCwithAdam1 I believe I stayed up and ended up winning at the end when I heard steffan say “he’s so stoked” 😅after I hit that flite test flag where I also saw my same plane lol
Probably as dangerous as a donut sideshow but legal.
This gives me permagrin.
Every body tag @Cleetus lol
Make `em bi-planes and shoot the video in 120 FPS. Slow it down in post and you have a pretty good Richthofen's Flying Circus.
rookie question: Have the camping reservations for Flite Fest 2024 opened up yet?
I don't think so. You can go to the flitefest.com website and sign up to get email alerts.
I wanna leanr how u make annrc plane so badly
Are we allowed to attach nerf guns and such to the fuselage?
great event👍👍, though I would advice the host to ensure all pilots and visitors well protected under a canopy than at an open air like that.

How is there enough channels?
BRING THE DRONE WARS!!
Okay, idiot question here. How do they manage to not double up on frequencies and end up controlling someone else's plane?
The radio tech keeps your plane receiver and transmitter link together, except sometimes the frequencies can get oversaturated and cause a loss of control. But I don't think that would lead to controlling someone else's plane.
Made in arab saudi
Couldn't you have gotten an announcer that was more... manly and less of a fem?
congratulations, most boring video i saw the beginning of in the past 20 days.
Why is that?
@@RCwithAdam1 because all the crashes that i saw were super weak, and you tried to add excitement with your commentary but it didn't really help.
Thanks for your feedback.
@@RCwithAdam1 to be honest the best advice i can give is to ignore anything i say, except for this comment :)
what are those round things i want one? :)
The round and flat airplanes? Those are called nutballs.
