Dodds is a competent coach, and in his three periods as interim coach, he was risen to the challenge. But... SAFC has for too long languished out of the top tier.
Is it not time for the management to start to understand that if you seek the benefits of being a top team in the top tier, you need to invest not only in players , but in the team that are responsible for getting the best out if them, having a manager at the helm is something Sunderland have always had, until recently. What is the purpose of Mr. Speakman. Apart from dictating who the club buy or in the development program, jobs the manager should be doing. I see no purpose of a director of football. We don't need a head coach. We need a proven manager, someone who has the experience to get the club into the Premier league and keep us there. Enough us enough. KLD. Put your money where your mouth is.

@@idontusetwitter not for me, we got a replacement for Clarke, another injury prone full back/CB and Styles who was probably the best out of the 3 mainly because he's very experienced for a 23 year old and a full international, the main areas of the pitch that needed addressing was an experienced defensive midfielder and a proven striker and again was neglected
@@ThaneME2 getting a replacement for Clarke is a good thing. Styles could be a great signing. New LB slotted right in. I agree a proven striker would have been great and I'm sure they tried. Yes it wasn't the best window ever but in comparison to the teams around us its got to be viewed as positive. Also getting a few of the youngsters out on loan was a good thing. KTF
