You can't Just put your feet there; you have to position your upper body and balance on the correct foot which will naturally allow that foot to be there. Seeing your feet together is just the end result of doing those things. A vertical upper body position and knowing which foot to balance on for a given turn will accomplish that.

1:20 yes, this is the correct stance in skiing and NOT with your feet apart. having your feet together has little to do with thinking about having your feet together but what you do with your upper body position and your balance from one foot to the other which will create that foot position naturally.
0:10 This is what is causing him to have his feet apart and it is the biggest problem with the vast majority of skiers. He is thinking, "I want to turn right, I want to turn left." So, watch what he does with his shoulders. He leans left and then he leans right.
0:11 He should be balanced on his right foot, but his upper body is leaning into the turn, over his left ski so his right ski has very little grip and the inside ski was much more grip. Have you ever made a turn and found yourself spinning around backwards? This is what causes it. If he kept his upper body vertical and just thought of getting off his left foot and balancing on his right foot, the right ski would make and complete the turn, his inside hip would raise up and his left leg would swing over next to his right leg.
Stand up now with your feet apart. Now lean your upper body over your right leg and watch your left leg swing over next to it. So, when you want to make turns, you have to put your upper body and your weight and balance where your skis need it. The best way to remember that is this.
You are standing on the pedals of a bicycle one at a time. When you want to make a turn to the left from a traverse you think, I want to go straight down the hill, so you plant your left pole down the hill and face down the hill and then you get off the left pedal/arch and stand on the right pedal/arch. because your upper body is in a vertical and neutral position and you are balanced on that one ski, that ski can make a turn as it was designed to do. You repeat that for the next turn.
Your inside or unweighted ski will always be next to the weighted one because you have moved your upper body off of it which raises your hip so it will stay next to the turning ski.
4:00 This exercise ruins the upper body position. The positioning of your upper body down the hill or back into the fall line from a traverse is what creates the leg angle which rolls the skis over and allows them to make edge gripping turns. This exercise keeps your lower leg vertical with very little leg angle and destroys your ability to balance from one foot to the other.
Here is another way to think about this. Stand up balanced on one foot after the other while you keep your hands on the handlebars and point the front tire down the hill to start a new turn. That puts your body and weight where it needs to be to allow your skis to make turns.
4:55 He is thinking of keeping his feet together but notice how his upper body is not vertical so he can be balanced on the arch of his right foot.
4:57 Notice his head tilt to the right. THAT is the NO, No of thinking, "I want to make a right turn!" He needs to be balanced on his left foot for the next turn but is leaning his upper body away from his left foot. It needs to be more of an upper body rotation to face down the hill rather than to lean to that side.

You can see the end result of what you may be doing wrong but not the cause. You can see the runny nose and sneezing of the common cold but not the virus. Understand and change the virus and the symptoms go away.

Nice progression in just one lesson. No doubt helped by what looks like a good snowy start to the season up there in Tignes. Let's hope it doesn't get wasted by another overreaction to covid.

Hi Double think. How are you? Yes, I was chuffed with the progression. The snow is coming down now which is great. Hopefully, we can get through the season 😁

Forcing the correction of the end result of the problem doesn't eliminate the problem.
