Man I'm rooting for you to succeed in this business but it's painful watching some of the struggles you are having at some of your stops. What happens the day you throw your back out? Does the entire business shutdown? Do you have a good backup plan to keep this business running if that happens? I think you need to come up with something quickly that can lift the cans and dump them in your trailer. I'm a former maintenance manager in a steel mill and I've seen plenty of people get injured on the job, and some never being able to go back to work. Work smart.
I’m pretty sure he’s stated before in previous videos that he plans on getting a trash can lifter so he doesn’t have to manually dump every can himself.
Maybe once the clientele warrants the additional investment, a preowned garbage truck with a grapple would be a nice upgrade.
I'll be watching the whole journey. I I know you'll succeed because you're determined. Everyone comments what to do meanwhile this man is doing.
Lots of comments about 'what happens if you get hurt'. Valid questions but that is the same situation I have had the past 7 years with the lawn care/landscaping company. You either get scared away by it and never start your own business or you deal with the possibility and do things as safely as possible. This was my first week, so had no clue what I am doing.
@CopperCreekCuts
The thing is, you can get hurt even on vacation and be out of work. Lol. What are you supposed to do nothing physical in life. It is better to keep the body strong and, therefore, less chances of injury. 💪 Keep plugging away, my friend.
I can't wait to see the new trash can dumping mechanism
Not today but next Saturday's video. Unfortunately it didn't work out in principle or actually work out either (confusing wording) but I am glad I tried it.
Man, don't do this to me. I know there's an audience for this kind of content but I absolutely love listening to your narration, explanation and humor :D
You won't be missing out! This is EP 1, which means it is the first week's pickup. You've already seen this footage on the voiceover one. There won't be anything ASMR that you haven't already had explained in a voiceover version video (if that makes sense). If you see ASMR in the title, just skip it! :)
😂 That was great I just imagined being there working and talking trash.
Haha, would've enjoyed the company!
I love that you move the trash can away from the mailbox. Some don't realize that we can't pull up and away when left in the pathway.
Thanks for watching!
You need to make another RUclips channel for this my guy. Love your content. Keep it up
Thanks for the kind words. I don't have the energy or focus to start a whole new channel for it. This channel covers my businesses, and this is running my business, so I will just keep it all together. Completely get it if it isn't your speed, just don't click on Friday 6pm videos (which will be the ASMR). Saturday mornings will be the voiceover versions.
@@CopperCreekCuts your most welcome. Thanks!
Hey Brad! Do you plan on buying an actual trash truck for pickups? I love your orange cans though. If you do buy a truck, I recommend a Mini Loadmaster until your services blow up. Anyways amazing video!
A long term goal way down the road! If we do buy one it will be an under CDL ASL.
nice replay of the first week
Glad you enjoyed!
Please ditch the trash bags..put your foot down with the customers an explain to them your situation with picking up by hand an it needs to be bagged your back an wallet will think you plus maybe offer a 1 time a month can cleaning or something..I've been doing this since January and my arms hurt.
I don't do the liners because someone is forcing me. The only downside is they cost a bit of money. Everything else about them is an advantage to not using them.
Random thoughts; ever see the (god awful) Heston movie, SOYLENT GREEN?
Perfect examples of how seconds quickly become minutes which makes for a long (profitable, maybe, maybe not) day.
Think back to when and most importantly WHY Brad and his wife made the decision(s) resulting in the formation of the lawn care business.
And 7 years-ish later to the thinking behind creating the trash pickup operation...
I could be completely wrong here but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I doubt the majority of viewers/followers really understand what's going on here. Simply stated, this couple is thinking big, I mean REALLY BIG, longterm BIG. Lawns have simply devolved into the means to accomplish the bigger goal(s). Consider: be it a quote for a new lawn customer or trash pickup, there is a relentless drive for EFFICIENCY, which is just another way of saying profit, MONEY honey! (Ya gotta wonder at the pillow talk in this home...really.) OK, enough said for now. I 'm in for the long haul, looking forward to the see what transpires.
Much appreciated and very insightful!
Great another video!
I love when i get a new notification on this channel i descoverd on something in interested in.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words!
I'm sure you're way ahead of me on this, but you might want to initiate a replacement tire budget for the inevitable nails and sharp crap they will pick up at the landfill (in my world, it would probably happen every other damn week).
Covered in another video and a very valid point!
I would put a magnetic roller on the side of the trailer, and load the rolled up bags ont it. That might save you some time.
Good tip, thanks!
Loving this new gig of yours! You can finally see some of the crap we see weekly. I’m sure you’ve figured out some of the kinks already. Very nice to see this ASMR.
Yes, this is week one, so while I still don't know much, I know more than I did when this footage was filmed! :D
@deleted_channel1 apparently your channel isn’t deleted, I’m so confused 😂
Yeah I know what you were thinking while bagging and re-bagging. Been there, still have to do it on occasion
What a pain!
People seem to be abandoning the idea of using the liners.
This is footage from the first week's pickup. Most current footage is on Saturdays with the voiceover.
Awesome video I love your new business new subscriber
Thanks for subbing!
back breaking
Not yet, thankfully, but the potential is there!
Sorry Bro, this video was extremely boring.........May want to start a Trash channel...............
The hunter orange looks good on Brad. Just need the hunter orange pants to complete the wardrobe.
It literally tells you what it is in the title. If it's not your speed just don't watch it. Tune back in on Saturday mornings for the voiceover versions if that is the style you prefer.
This isn't my style of video either. But I'm going to watch it anyway give Brad a few more view minutes and a little bit more AdSense revenue.
What happened to your orange carts
This is EP 1, or footage from the first week. The bins didn't get in until week 2.
You’re a hard worker. Take care of your health.
Thank you, I will try to!
🥱 Haha! Just kidding! Good morning, Brad! I did miss the voice over, but I totally understand what this is about. I actually enjoyed this video. Kind of gives us the sense of the mind numbing work you're going through to get this business running efficiently. There's a learning curve to everything in life. This is no different. Your perseverence will prevail! Good luck!
Hope you have an enjoyable and RESTFUL weekend!
Many thanks! The voiceover isn't going away, that will always be Saturday AM. This is just something to add on Friday evenings for folks who like the ASMR stuff. It will trail the most current footage by around 3 weeks.
How much do you charge per trash can?
Depends a great deal on where but average is $8 per can per pickup.
Interesting, I didn't realize you were doing any-size cans as I had thought you got fired for can-complaining. I kinda like your setup as you'd probably be able to take old mattresses & other large-junk that my arm-truck-companies don't offer, if so it should be in your ads for any areas with companies that don't have that part in their offerings.
I'm not, this is footage from pickup/week 1! :)
OK SO ....APPROX 10.-11 MINS JUST REBAGGING AND AND PUTTIN NEW BAGS IN ..(thats not even the whole stop) .23 BAGS 17.25 .... I SAY JUST TOSSIN BAG IN THE TRAILER WLD BE WAY FASTER ...AND NOT MESSING WITH BAGS .....U CLD SPRAY UR TRAILER OUT DAILY FOR A BUCK OR LESS WITH THE GARDEN HOSE .. IDK BUDDY IM WATCHIN EITHER WAY CAUSE UR MAKIN LOOT EITHER WAY ....KEEP ON KICKIN
The liners actually make me quicker than touching everything in the can, especially since there is a lot of loose trash. Much cleaner as well.
@@CopperCreekCuts garbage isnt clean brotha ... LOL the one stop with all that cat waste ,,,THATS bs ....way to much crap there ..u said u were charging extra there thats good ...ugggh
I'm rooting for you but you're going to overwork yourself (and potential employees too). I know hydraulic lifters are expensive (but so too is your back when inevitably it wil be out of action) but maybe some form of manual bin lifter to empty bins direct into the trailer. Hoping for success and route density! Do you get a lot of bottles with the waste?
A lifter on a dump trailer won't make sense. Will discuss why in not this Saturday but next Saturday's video. We tried a manual one. I don't look open up the trash bags much so not sure about how many bottles are there.
You look at the camera, which sends the message, "see what I am dealing with." And then I respond with, I totally see what your dealing with, these people need some liners in their cans! Thank you for the service that you provide these people, you are a hero to many, never forget that.
Haha, I see you caught that glance! I think I actually was going to address the camera in the voiceover version so I had to cut out whatever I said.
Hey Brad, if I lived in Baker county I would totally sign up for your services. look forward to seeing you grow and rooting for your success.🎉 also where did you get your Orange baclava?
Thanks for the kind words! Hi-Vis Balaclava: amzn.to/4cHf4LA
I was looking at your trailer to see where you could mount your side boards when they not in use. It appears that you might have space for the storage rack on the driver's side of the trailer?
Long term I don't think I will be moving planks during the day, but thanks for the tip!
Those bags are huge! How many gallons are those bags?
95-100 gallons
😮
95 Gallons, this is the cheapest I can find them anywhere: amzn.to/45HeOdt
@@CopperCreekCuts thanks for the link Brad! Will pick some up!
Where are the orange trash containers?
I guess this episode pre-dates the introduction of the orange containers.
Correct, this was pickup number 1 (episode 1)
Why not post new stuff?.
I do, every Saturday. But I already have the footage and I know some people like the sounds that come up or just want something on in the background so it is a relatively low effort thing to produce for folks who might like it, so why not?
@@CopperCreekCuts it's ok flipped over to the guy that repo a lady's front pouch from her trailer. Funny stuff.
See you on the next trash day
Will you do more videos like this?
Yes, every Friday evening.
These videos are cool I will definitely support your channel.
@@Jaredorr27same here
If you posted this to get comments, it worked, lol.
Sounds good to me!
Where are your trash containers?
Is there a way to hinge your wood on the side of your trailer so you do not literally have to throw it 4 foot
This was footage from pickup number 1, so it is old.
@@CopperCreekCuts OK my good sir my apologies
None needed!!! @@Manwolf235
