Is the Fusion suit usable
Not yet, I'm waiting for the physical release. I just got into the series a little over a week ago after buying myself Metroid Dread for my birthday, and am loving it.
Very much looking forward to it, but I will ask: Does it have the same gameplay style of Super Metroid (which I used the switch NOS for) and Dread, but brought into first person?
Dude. I saw the trav guy go live with it and I instantly scrambled to see the trailer. Then bought it and started playing. I beat it today and I've gotta say. Its like black magic how they managed to make this run as smooth as it does. I love this remaster myself and hope you enjoy it as much as I did
Did you make any adjustments to the pro controller settings??

I like how they basically redid all the models and maps to be higher poly and more detailed and the lighting looks really good
I absolutely love the Remaster. One thing I always loved about the original is that when it's raining on Tallon Overworld, little water drops hit your visor and you can also see water droplets bouncing off the arm cannon. They made it look a LOT better in the remastered version. Firstly, the water drops look more realistic and there's more of it too. And if you look up, the built up water slides back towards you, and if you look down, the water slides forward to the ground. Such an awesome attention to detail. The fire effects look a lot more realistic too.
I freaked out when I watched the Nintendo direct in real time, I stop the video and bought the game in seconds. All I have to say is WTF DAMN this game rocks it's much more beautiful than I remembered from the cube. It's not just texture upscaling it's lighting, sound 3d models more environmental effects, smoother frame rates, and better controls ,they even added narration options. Dare I say it's now a Perfect game.

Me too, not a bad wait considering it’s 2 weeks away. I honestly bet they would’ve released it physically the same day too, but they didn’t wanna send out copies until it was revealed.

I played this game on Dolphin emulator a few months back and loved it, thinking of getting the remastered version soon
Bought it as soon as it was available. I spent all night playing it. I am completely WOWED!!!
The physical release is coming Feb. 22nd. I already have it preordered. Strange that I had to put a minimum of $10.00 down at GameStop. No other game has ever made me do that. Is this going to be a limited physical release? Who knows. All I do know is I have my copy coming.

We're now just one step closer to getting Metroid Prime 4.
My only problem with it so far is that it forces a certain amount of shots before letting you do a charge shot.
3 for power beam, 2 for wave, 1 for ice, and I haven't gotten plasma yet.
Instead of making shooting charge beams easier, they made it more tedious and less satisfying.
Other than that. Yeah. It's great. If you haven't played it yet, please do.

My dream has come true holy shit
I was at work watching the announcement, and I literally shouted in delight. This game meant everything to me, growing up as a kid in the boonies with only a hand-me-down GameCube and select games to play. This and MP2:Echoes are absolutely ingrained in my memory
I love it so far, I feel like this is just a glimpse of the visual fidelity we are going to get with MP4. Having that said, playing this game almost a year after Elden Ring and after Doom Eternal which is the closest FPS with Metroid like platforming, I'd say that for MP4 to succeed and be the definitive one it needs to be harder, have more environments and enemies, the narrative of MP3: Corruption and the exploration have to be Elden Ring levels, and they gotta bring back Dark Samus. If that's the ambition they are going for, I wouldn't be mad if they made it for the Switch successor
Given how Dark Samus and all of the Phazon was gone for good in Prime 3 I doubt we're gonna see Dark Samus come back, if she does there will have to be alot of narrative justification as to how she survived the destruction of Phaaze. As for expecting Elden Ring levels of exploration, again I wouldn't hold your breath on that. Having a smaller world thats more detailed and full of secrets is better than having a massive world full of only afew and very similar optional and secret areas. Ultimately we'll have to see how it goes but hopefully in the meantime we'll get remastered versions of 2 and 3 aswell.
I'll get the physical version, and the wait is agonizing already.
Does the game offer Amiibo support in anyway? Just curious cause I remember for the original gamecube game. If you connect metroid fusion you get to play the original Metroid game.
As far as I can tell, there is not YET. I wont be back home until tomorrow, so I have tried my Metroid Dread amiibos yet, but I dont see anything online that indicates that it has amiibo supoort
It's a crime you don't have more subscribers this game wow I can't believe it it almost looks like that PC remake of Tallon 4 just wow I never imagined it could look even better than before especially on the Nintendo switch cause how games lately been running on the switch I've been thinking the switch was weaker than the GameCube lol. But damn retro studios has done it again only they know how to push Nintendo hardware and make the game work.
My biggest question is does it allow for use of the Fusion suit like the original did 🤔
As far as I can tell online, no one has figured out a way to unlock it yet. Nintendo could still find a way to give it to us, with like the Metroid Dread amiibo or something like that, but its not looking good so far :/
$13.99 DLC two years down the road.
I wouldn't be too surprised if 1) You unlock it on a harder difficulty and with 100% item completion 2) Its paid DLC at a later point or 3) Its not there to begin with.

I would love to see all the creepier enemies that are in prime 2 be brought into hd

Dad got me Prime 1 years ago when I was younger because I was such a big Halo fan he thought I would like it and I really did. Then I eventually got Echoes as well but I never actually beat either games cuz I would get lost often. About a year ago now I came back and beat Prime 1 on Dolphin and had so much fun reliving the game being older.
This remaster is such a great surprise and I do hope that we get Prime 4 soon enough. My only experience with Metroid are the first two Prime games not at all with the 2D so i been waiting.

this is the type of remaster we love. unlike the Majoras Mask 3DS remaster where they completly ruined the creepy moon

I have never replayed old games on a new system all the game boy I'm sorry could care less. But Metroid Prime might be the first it just looks great. Wish they did this with Mario 64.
So far I love it, although I will say that I wish there was a better method of switching visors and beams, having both tied to the D pad is a little clunky. Also something that I've actually hated from minute one is the burst fire on holding the trigger. It slows down starting a beam charge which is just really annoying, and it hasn't really been helpful at all.
A guy who always ALWAYS goes back to play the trilogy a few days once every year, I really want to play this remaster. I know that there's a Digital release already but I want the physical copy, so I'm waiting to get that.
I was able to snag one of these Remasters from a local GameStop last week. Very surprising, since they've been sold out, but one store happened to have 2 available somehow. I'm sure I will get around to playing it at some point...but, you know me. 😉
Played Metroid Prime for the first time because of this remaster, one of the best games I’ve ever played.
Playing it and I love it.
I've played it once until I got the power bombs and now I have the plasma beam.
I still prefer the 2d metroids but I don't wanna miss out on the 3d ones cause prime is still amazing.

This game of course will be a must buy for me too. Seeing a lotta fanship for this game. Goes to show how timeless good game design is.
I beg not to have to wait 5 more years for Prime 2 or 3.
But i'd expect Echoes, not so much Prime 3.
Prime 3 already sported the motion controls and was on the (slightly) more powerful Wii, remastering that will have lesser noticeable effects. They could almost do a straight port of that one

I've been playing at the last 2 days.
If they remade prime 1 and 2 with those same graphics and even if they used the same graphics for prime 4 I would honestly not be disappointed.
I think the shadow drop is genius, because conventionally they would have to space remasters' release a fair bit (if they exist) but there isn't enough time for that until 4's release and it would risk stealing its marketing thunder. Here I expect them to shadow drop Prime 2 and 3 remasters a few months apart, then the games themselves will create the hype and add a proper new playerbase for 4 without creating fatigue because one day the game isn't there, the next it is, people play it, the game stays only a few days in the spotlight and talk of 4 keeps rising and rising. If I'm right I'll tip my hat to Nintendo.

The doors are an intentional change to being them more in line with the doors from 3, wonder if that means 4 will take the same approach

You've mentioned controller mapping...Can you change the button layout?
Kinda, but its not as easy as it could be.
So when you start the game, it will give you 4 options for controls: Dual Stick, Pointer, Hybrid and Classic.
“Pointer” is like the Wii, “Classic” is like the Gamecube, “Hybrid” is a blend between motion controls and classic controls, and “Dual Stick” is pretty self explanatory, and its definitely my favorite. Once you’re in the game, you can change a few more things, like stick sensitivity, but nothing overly specific with button mapping.
You may already know this, but you can change the button mapping through the Nintendo Switch system. I wanted just a couple things different for Prime, so I saved a preset mapping for Prime, and just load it whenever Im going to play.
From the Switch home screen, go to System Setting > Controller and Sensors > Change Button Mapping > The select the controller you want to map, and then select Change.

The Pro controller is adjustment, and takes time to get used to, but once I did, I actually really prefer it. Using the dual analog sticks to look around, just feels more natural and fluid. Nintendo did a really good job updating the button/stick mechanics
