I love the way you explain your techniques. Your practical videos have pre-saved me from many mistakes I would have made which makes sewing so much more enjoyable.
Thank you Claire for making and sharing this video, I have wanted to try free motion sewing for a while now although have not had tried it yet. as it always seemed so tricky. You have explained very clearly how to do each step and make it look so easy, I may give it a try soon. 😊
Claire, you fill me with hope. This is the second video I have watched of yours and I understand you. Never before has this happened. I've watched others and felt completely daunted by it all but you have made me think that this is possible for me. Yes, I can do this. All I need is to find the time to play. Thank you.
Very informational and enjoyable to watch. Have not done hoop embroidery on my sewing machine and wondered how one would do it. When you had trouble getting your hoop under your foot, I realized the same would happen with me. Would it work to position the hoop under the needle before putting on the new foot (and while the other foot was already off)? Thanks for a well presented video!
Claire, what would be a beginner sewing machine for me to buy to do free embroidery machine. I have not operated a machine before , I am a total begginer and don’t know where to start. Thank you 🙏
Hi Patricia, there are a lot of machines out there so I can understand why you don't know where to start. If you ring Frank Nutt Sewing Machines, they can help you go through. the different models and help you find the right machine for your budget. I would make sure the teeth can be lowered and I would get an open toed free machine embroidery/ open toed quilting foot which doesn't usually come with the machine. Hope that helps.
Hi Claire I wasn't going to. I just used invisible thread, double and sewed through each bead once moving across the heart until they are all done. Hope that helps
Hello Claire. I'm totally new to this free motion stitching, whether it's applique, embroidery, or quilting. I was nervous and tense just watching you in this video. I recently bought a Bernina 790 Plus for this purpose, as well as others so I hope someday I can report back to you that I've finally been able to master these free motion techniques. Until then just call me Nervous Nellie.

Thankyou Claire you are so easy to listen to and you do a wonderful demonstration…

A very clear video Claire. Thanks. what needle and thread did you use?
Hi Stella, I used a universal size 80 needle and the thread I've used is Madeira Classic 40 viscose thread.
Nice
Bonjour y a til un traducteur pour vous video merci
Really amazing work mam. . Wat paper r u using to stick
Yamuna Yashwanth I think it’s called bondaweb, your local haberdashery store would sell it...
Are you going to show how to do the beading
Hi Claire I wasn't going to. I just used invisible thread, double and sewed through each bead once moving across the heart until they are all done. Hope that helps
Would that foot work on my old (from the 70s or 80s) Singer machine?
Hi Brittany, no, that was a foot for a Brother machine. You will need to get one for a Singer machine.
Practicing drawing is the key for me. It will likely be traced onto a non-silk fabric.
What is the model no.of this machine .
It's a Brother F420
Wow

Which machin this?
Nisha Nisha it says in the details Brother Innovis-is F420
Is that an embroidery machine? or just a normal sewing machine
It's a normal sewing machine, you don't need a fancy sewing machine to free machine embroider.
This machine is reputed to be whisper quiet but that sounds really noisy
It is probably my microphone picking that up and making it nosier than it is, sorry.
