Happy to find your channel. Im addicted to FME and appliqué. I too have a Juki, I’m looking for an old singer that’s been converted to electric. It’s so fun sew designs freehand. I learned this at college and spent many hours mastering it. I’ve made T-shirts with names or words on, I combine beading on top for extra depth. Currently working on cut through appliqué with several layers but leaving the edges raw. I free motioned on the areas that aren’t cut through, because of various thickness of other layers it adds a quilting effect. I can’t wait to watch the rest of your channel. ❤
I inherited my mothers 1961 Singer sewing machine. I used to sew long ago. I just got back into it. Started making 3 and 4 tier patchwork skirts and aprons. I would love to learn how to embroidery using her machine. Glad I found your channel.
Muito interessante...gostei... legal saber que é brasileira...eu trabalho há muito tempo com desenho e sempre procuro novos desafios e acabei te encontrando por aqui...abraços
Have wanted to try making lace embroidery! But, Can i do this on a domestic (non treadle )sewing machine? The plastic one.. do you have the configuration of how to set it up for free motion embroidery?
You don’t need anything special… just a sewing machine….Just lower your feed dogs… use an embroidery hoop, thread your machine, choose a straight stitch with a smaller stitch, take the foot off or use an open toe or darning foot, lower your pressure foot…. Move the hoop… and sew.
I would love to take the course. I like garment transformation and would like to add embroidery. For now, what is holding me back is that I'm lost when it comes to buying a machine. Any recommendations? Thanks!
It really depends on your budget! My favorite machine is a Bernina record 930. Older Berninas are great for sewing and embroidery but can be pricey. An old Singer is an option too. Basically if a machine does a good stitch when sewing should be good for embroidery too.
I been wanting to learn just for basic things like putting my initials on my scrub caps I make should I do it prior to cutting my pattern out for my cap?
Hi, I have tried free motion stitches with my machine... I like it. But sometimes, when starting stiches, machine doesn't work well. I don't know how to put thread correctly for starting. Sometimes thread don't sew, sometimes there is a lot of thread behind fabric. My tension is between 2 and 3. Should I keep thread in my hand for starting ?
I'm not sure I understand your question but it seems like you have to adjust your machine accordingly. Maybe it's not threaded correctly. Check your manual and make sure it's all correct and sewing perfectly before you do the FME

It's always easier to embroider a piece before you sew it. so yes!
Is it used on straight stitch
Can i do it using my brother gs2700 home machine?
I'm not familiar with that specific machine but most domestic machines will do. So yes you probably can do it on yours
@@wardrobeschool Thank you so much ❤️
can i do it on my singer 1412
Yes I'm pretty sure you can
Can I use the free machine presser foot for monogramming?
I don't like any foots for FME but if you want to use one you gotta use the darning foot
Which type of threads do it better
I like to use viscose thread. But polyester works too
