This is going to be an oddball comment because I'm not a gamer but I do own an HP 8300, that was given ti me. The work I do on a computer is mainly CAD. I design electronics circuitry using TINA. Tina is an electronics CAD software. I'm an old dog that's retired and do this Tina stuff on an old Hp W7 laptop. I do this activity (out doors) in my screen room 365 days of the year. My laptop is less than ideal for my smoke, beer & wine environment. My laptop is running off 120VAC always. That's why I'm seriously considering firing up that old HP 8300 and installing an HDMI graphics card, as you did. Only because my old eyes use a 30" Smart TV for my monitor. It's only 30 inches away from my eyes. I figure it's a good idea to have an HDMI graphics port these days.
It was fortunate for me that you posted this a whole 5 years ago. It's because of you that I now know that I must get a "Low Profile" graphics card . That little tip is going to save me a whole lot of grief.

I have the tower version of this desktop. I took out the PSU, replaced it with a 600 watt evga psu, put 16gb of ram in it. Put in a GTX 1080 8gb and it has about 6TB of space. I can play almost every single game at 1440p maxed on setting at 50-60+ fps. I have rdr2 maxed out at 1440p running at 60 fps at almost all times

i just bought a 16gb ram 1TB HD 8100 gonna get a ssd and Graphic card next week. Never really Played games on a PC but i figured id switch because i really don't wanna buy the next generation of consoles. i also have an epson2150 1080p 3D LCD home theatre projector I PAYED 800$ for. I built a 140" screen for it. can't wait to play games on it. movies look amazing already on it

Nice video. i have the 8200 Elite with Core i5 2400/12GB Ram/Gigabyte GTX 1050 OC 3GB and a 250GB SSD. This thing is a little Sleeper ^^. In Crysis 2 i got between 90-120 fps in Full HD and graphics maxed out. only problem is, that the 1050 is getting up to 85 degrees.

APLS HD 2 all I’m tryna say is you don’t NEED a low profile gpu for it, it just takes a little bit of fabrication to make the case accept the full size card. Not trying to be an ass or anything lmfao
Great video bruh, I would advice you to invest in a camera arm for overhead shots instead of holding the cam when working in the pc.

How did it run without the ssd? Just ordered this pc and the same graphics card but havent gotten an ssd yet. Did it affect gaming at all? Or just slower start up speed? (Btw I'm very new to pc gaming and know nothing about it except for your videos)
it runs fine just takes forever to boot up and load up apps
Yeah this was a cool vid!!! The other vids just go through the sliding into the slot thing. you do all the way to the start up and run. I was skeptical at first about upgrading with the gtx1050, but you gave me a lot more confidence to do it. I thought you would have to go into windows 10 and do some system programming to get the whole thing to work.

I go this PC and GPU for free, but I am concerned the PSU is not powerful enough for it, have you noticed nay skipping in games, my Forza Horizon 3 on medium settings is skipping frames, but it may be the poor i5 3.2 to 3.6 Ghz CPU. Any thoughts would be appreciated? :)

Is that with a 240W psu? I'm waiting for this refurbished computer in the mail from Best Buy. Problem is - I got the higher end video card and no way will it work. May have to get a low profile one.
Yes the 240 is fine with my 1050 ti low profile. you might even get away with it with a 1650

All my specs are in my description. There’s many different versions of this form factor. 8100,8200,8300, Elite, etc. I got the one that already have upgraded ram and more storage and stand 3.0 USB and etc

You don’t need a graphics card but if you want to play multiple videos games I highly recommend it
Hp 8300 series have their own integrated card, in his case is a intel hd 3000 or 4000 series, it's okay about browsing, but terrible about gaming.

In games like LOL, WOW and Dota 2 you'll get a playable fps even with intel integrated gpu.
But in gpu demanding games you'll need to add a better gpu.

Yo keem really love your stuff and wanna make this build myself but i just have a couple questions; Do i need to upgrade from the current 260W PSU in the case? Is it safe for the gtx 1050ti, an i7 2600 and 16GB RAM?
If your going for my setup the stock power supply will be fine. Even if you go with a i7 processor the power supply will be fine. A lot of people still upgrade it but it’s not needed

Excuse me did yours come with integrated intel graphics if so do i just put the new graphics card in or is there more im new to this stuff and what do you mean you needed to take 2 slots out?
it comes with the Intel graphics and you dont need to mess with it. You put the new graphics card in and thats it. The graphics card will be facing towards the back of the unit so you will need to slide out the covers on the case that blocks the plug ins
