I got my first Veronica Beard piece this summer! Those black slim straight jeans call to me from my closet every day. I have to be fair and wear my other jeans sometimes. But I don't want to, because those VB jeans make me feel some kind of fabulous💜
I adore Erin. She has killer style, and seems so genuine. But, this video isn’t realistic for 90% of women 40 and over. In order to pull off these looks, you need to be tiny or tall. The shorter jeans alone will do you no favors if you’re not. You also need the cash flow. Without even looking at prices, I’m betting the first outfit alone, with the Veronica blazer, and all accessories (bag and bracelet included) is between $1500-2000K. Lastly, you need to have an innate sense of style to even get out of the gate- unless you have even more money to hire a stylist. With all this said, I think some of these looks can be possible for more people if all your pieces aren’t hundreds of dollars.

I understand what you are saying but I’m not sure I fully agree. For entrance, I have a blue and white stirred fitted blouse and some jeans jeans that I purchased for a total of $50. Are they are as “ special” as her pieces, no, however this video gave me some great tips to wearing what I purchased with assurance and confidence. I think we have to look beyond the $ spent and look and listen to the concepts she is presenting.
You would be surprised. You can look like $$$, without spending a ton of money. A director I worked for, always “looked expensive”. Whenever I would compliment her on an outfit, I was alllllllways from Target or thrifted. However, I do understand where you are coming from. It is a talent to be able to put things together. ❤ I guess that’s why we have her to teach us her ways little by little 🎉
I have a $55,000 SUV pay almost $1400 in rent for one bedroom apartment and guess where I go to shop for stuff when I’m looking for a new style? GOODWILL So yes, it can be affordable to find the pieces. In fact, goodwill is where I found an authentic coach bag for $10 and other expensive bags and clothing. Sure you might have to go to a couple good ones to find what you’re looking for but when a woman is looking for new stuff, she goes to different stores anyways ! This is my little short, cut to doing able to afford style without literally buying a new wardrobe. In fact, I actually get off on buying used items that are in excellent condition for literally sometimes 1/10 of the price.! I have found a beautiful Banana Republic blazer at Goodwill for $12.99… I found this beautiful Lauren Conrad tuxedo blazer for like $8.99 that I absolutely adore If you know what you’re looking for, it’s easier to find it at thrift stores without even trying on clothes Like I know what I wear in expressive jeans, so if I see expressed genes, are you more likely to buy them at Goodwill for like $8.99 Or Poshmark…

Yay! Thank you, I’ve been needing advice like this for a long time! Of course it probably wouldn’t hurt me to give myself an allowance of a little extra time to try things out and see how they look together. And also I really have to get so many things tailored. But I do like leaving my pants long and then I roll them up underneath two times. If you roll them up once underneath they come right down but two times they stay. And then when I do wanna wear higher heels I just roll them down again. (A hint for my petite paisanas)
I highly recommend for you to hem them right then you don't need to think about it all day when wearing them if they will roll down, it will be more compatible and I belive you will feel more confident during the day!
I'm not crazy about the lenght of the jeans with the booties. I feel they should be either shorter or longer. Something just strikes me wrong with the length they are. But that's just me.
It's always important to wear the things that you feel your best in - and that includes jean silhouettes and lengths! I disagree about long blazers hiding large hips. I’m short and long blazers or tunics just don’t work for me. The proportions get out of whack. It’s a challenge to dress short pear shaped bodies with thick legs and arms.

The trends always shift and change, but that is the exact reason I always say to spend 80% of your wardrobe budget on quality basics and only 20% on the trends that you love. Those basics will last for years and years, especially if they're a good quality. The darker wash jeans made your legs look way longer. I need to see if I have any jeans that dark in my closet. I don’t own any Veronica blazers or jeans. They are out of my price range. And living in the south I wouldn’t get as much use out of them. They are adorable. I liked the blue striped, what I thought was a blouse, but needed up being a turtleneck. From some reason I love striped shirts. Maybe because I’m short and they elongate me.
Beware when ordering directly from the Veronica Beard website. Their policy states that they offer free return shipping but they charge you a $15 restocking fee. Totally misleading.
This was so enjoyable. First of all, that blazer is so gorgeous and high quality that no matter what you would do to it, it makes a great anchor piece. I live in Los Angeles and so I have to wait until we finally get some cooler weather to drag out any jacket at all. I just picked up a Blanc Noir moto to start with and am building around it right now, but I have a blue wool and silk gorgeous blazer I got at Bergdorfs awhile back that I am going to use so I can match this video, step by step. How do you not get makeup on the collars of your shirts and jackets? I don't wear heavy foundation but I do wear tinted moisturizer or tinted sunscreen and that still gets on the edges of the collars.
Wondering if you could do a video on skirts with body types . For me it's to hide my tummy. Also I have a hard time with knowing how to pair boots with skirts. Blazers with skirts. This video showed some good ways . But would love some rules . I am short so that's an issue too
That would be an awesome video for me too. I don't have great looking legs but they are long. I can't find boots that go over my ankle and calf but I love to wear skirts.
I think the moto jacket -- on YOU -- makes you look taller. More of your legs are showing with the moto jacket, thus, the illusion of height. The blazer kind of cuts your legs off, making the legs look shorter.

In outfit #1 the jeans are way too short. They WOULD be elongating if they hit the floor as flares look best doing. The length of these just cut you off and make you look short and dumpy. Please, please tell your viewers to not wear cropped pants that cut you off and make you look shorter and not sleek.

I highly recommend for you to hem them right then you don't need to think about it all day when wearing them if they will roll down, it will be more compatible and I belive you will feel more confident during the day!

I'm not crazy about the lenght of the jeans with the booties. I feel they should be either shorter or longer. Something just strikes me wrong with the length they are. But that's just me.
It's always important to wear the things that you feel your best in - and that includes jean silhouettes and lengths! These jeans are a crop/ankle length so it is a much different look than the full length flares I often wear. With flats though, they're full length on me. Thanks so much for watching this one!! xo

I have to ask about the flare/almost bell-bottom jeans---Isn't the preferred length 1/2 inch from the floor? I'm confused. Please explain the reasoning. When is the 'high water" look, the correct look? Thanks, Erin.

I disagree about long blazers hiding large hips. I’m short and long blazers or tunics just don’t work for me. The proportions get out of whack. It’s a challenge to dress short pear shaped bodies with thick legs and arms.

The trends always shift and change, but that is the exact reason I always say to spend 80% of your wardrobe budget on quality basics and only 20% on the trends that you love. Those basics will last for years and years, especially if they're a good quality. The darker wash jeans made your legs look way longer. I need to see if I have any jeans that dark in my closet. I don’t own any Veronica blazers or jeans. They are out of my price range. And living in the south I wouldn’t get as much use out of them. They are adorable. I liked the blue striped, what I thought was a blouse, but needed up being a turtleneck. From some reason I love striped shirts. Maybe because I’m short and they elongate me.
Beware when ordering directly from the Veronica Beard website. Their policy states that they offer free return shipping but they charge you a $15 restocking fee. Totally misleading.
This was so enjoyable. First of all, that blazer is so gorgeous and high quality that no matter what you would do to it, it makes a great anchor piece. I live in Los Angeles and so I have to wait until we finally get some cooler weather to drag out any jacket at all. I just picked up a Blanc Noir moto to start with and am building around it right now, but I have a blue wool and silk gorgeous blazer I got at Bergdorfs awhile back that I am going to use so I can match this video, step by step. How do you not get makeup on the collars of your shirts and jackets? I don't wear heavy foundation but I do wear tinted moisturizer or tinted sunscreen and that still gets on the edges of the collars.

I think the moto jacket -- on YOU -- makes you look taller. More of your legs are showing with the moto jacket, thus, the illusion of height. The blazer kind of cuts your legs off, making the legs look shorter.

In outfit #1 the jeans are way too short. They WOULD be elongating if they hit the floor as flares look best doing. The length of these just cut you off and make you look short and dumpy. Please, please tell your viewers to not wear cropped pants that cut you off and make you look shorter and not sleek.
