Your review was so beautiful. I feel you brother on everything you said about the Fuji GFX system. I love the passion and energy that comes out of you spirit-it’s absolutely heart felt.
Great overview. Thank you. I have been shooting mostly landscape with the 50R and the 100 since they came out. Results are like now other. The only downside is the choices you have to make when traveling by air as the weight and size becomes a factor. Of interest I have been using a Canon T/S lens 24 mm with the adapter that allows for electronic connections and that works very well
@@Daniel-Sanchez It actually is especially with the very light 50mm 3.5. Steady hand are a must as, without IBIS, one can not use shutter speeds that are long hand held

Great collection for some serious photography no doubt? But we are missing the results, images taken with the camera and lenses. Seeing an image does leave an everlasting impression.
yes, I have held it to, and also the price difference!, $6,000 as compared to $60,000 approx for a phase One xf system, body and the IQ150 back, no brainer, which, esp. for enthusiasts, or 'entry' into the MF digital world. One other option this is good for, is adapted to old view cameras, Monorails, this gives use of these, plus the tilt\shift effect and the unlimited bellows draw, so great macro option; plus a cheaper way into the Schneider K. glass, LF lenses are a heck of a lot cheaper than the Phase one XF or XT lenses, also S.K.'s.
Right now it’s really looking like the 80mm f/1.7 and 23mm for landscape could be the duo you have to choose from. Picking up a nice used 32-64mm zoom could be option 1 if you need some solid range. Good luck.

Great video....Looks like you just switched over to medium format just to be locked up inside because of stupid COVID-19...I have a GFX100 and love it! I switched from Sony (A7RIII and A7III I sold)... Welcome to the GFX brotherhood!
I luckily picked up the GFX 100 back in October and all the glass to go with it. Great to meet another 100 user! Are you buying the 45-100 or the GF 30 F/3.5 coming this year?
Thank you for the review. I own the GFX100 with a couple of lenses. Its truly quite an impressive equipment BUT battery life is mediocre (as expected) although its much better than my X1Dii battery system.
Yes the battery life is a tiny bit lackluster. As long as you keep the lcd brightness down and don't use the boost mode, you should get decent life out of the pair of batteries in the tray!
great review, but at 5:43 you have hit on the compromise with these cameras, the depth of field is Narrower here than a mirrorless\dslr, so the focus is tough, remember the Leica 50 f0.95 ? and red dot forums' review of the 75mm f1.2 esp. his recommendation that it focuses better on the Leica SL even though it is an M lens; paraphrasing here, " that the dof is so shallow that the af is easier to focus it, than doing it manually, via the Rangefinder system" so my guess here is that if you go way past f5.6 or f4 the focus system, and esp. the chips would have to be bigger, more powerful, and capable of exacting subject id, as any miss is very apparent, esp. if the lens hunts for focus, due in part to subject or camera vibration (ie if you are hand-holding this); and also therefore increasing the cost, weight, and bulk of the system, so it is easier to make the less expensive systems, hence the f4 limits; although some primes, namely the macros, do f2.8, or the Hc/Hcd lenses for Hasselblads, F2.2 (100mm & 110) these are exceptions to this phenomenon, not the mainstay practice.
Thanks for the video. I also switched from Sony to currently the Fuji GFXR and the 50mm and 250mm lenses. Amazing IQ! Hope to acquire the upcoming 80/1.7 in future.
Yeah the 80mm is going to be a monster! Wish they made faster glass all around, but from what I have experienced with the 110 f/2, anything faster is going to be a world beater.
Do anyone else's GF lenses make stepping motor sounds? My GF 23mm f/4 makes a mechanical motor sound every time I have the camera powered on and move the camera around. Whether I'm in AF or MF, it doesn't matter. It sounds almost like the old perforated printers from the early 90s that made that horrible scratching sound when it printed. I can just be holding the camera not pressing anything and it'll make this sound until I stop moving it. It's fairly noticeable and doesn't sound right to me. I get so many mixed results online forums about it being normal or not normal

Congrats for this line setup. I’m leaving Leica switching to Fuji GF system. Starting with the GFX50R + 50mm for street photo and 23mm for landscape. For I will build a lens lineup within the time but now I just want to feel the image quality. See how better it is …
Hello Daniel, First time viewing you video, I am in the exact same boat, Sony from A7R and then just recently bought the A7R IV because i was not aware fo this Fuji, I also agree with your final statement about having to live up to the camera you are using and being abetter photographer for it. Many would disagree but it is how I think. Unfortunately because I am in Canada this camera body is $14K not $10K and the lenses are much more expensive, I just recently returned to work after being retired, forced back to work because of a shit investment fraud. Anyhow I wanted to thank you for your review it has me excited to get one and starting to save up for it, This means get more work eh! You were precise and came across as genuine, no fluff.
Thank you for the feedback! The A7R IV was the last body I sold coming over from Sony. When I was shooting with both of them, the GFX 100 still stood out by quite a bit. This will be come resoundingly clear when you crop. Something to note, when you put the GFX 100 in 35mm mode, guess what the effective mp count is? Just under 61 (-; I'd say that's not just a random coincidence if you know what I mean. Now having the extra 41 mp goes a long way if you print large images or need to make multiple compositions from 1 shot. Have you used the GFX yet? I highly suggest renting the body and a couple of lenses to really get familiar with it. You'll be blown away!
I was a medium format shooting in the film days, haven't been back since the world went digital........but I'd love to shoot with this Fuji. Wow. Thanks for the insight.
The body and lenses are very well sealed, but if I had to carry it on a sailboat with salt water potentially hitting anything, I’d definitely look at weather proofing the entire setup even more. The IBIS will handle the waves fairly well from my own experience!
I like the camera I was just wondering how does it compare to the Pentax 6 x 7 which is my favorite medium format camera so far which I have own for over 20+ years.
I may have read on FM forums or in the GFX FB group that Otus glass has been tested by someone else, and I personally still think you get the best resolve power out of using MF glass. Simply put, using the lenses that are designed specifically for full coverage of the MF sensor, you are able to get maximum DR and resolution out of the elements.
Great video thanks. I'm going to purchase a gfx 100 now that they are available. However, funds will limit me to 1 lens to start. If you were in my place which lens would be you buy?
Right now, my most solid recommendation that would allow for versatility and amazing photo/video quality would no doubt be the GF 32-64mm f/4. It is sharp as primes at every focal length, and simply works well with the IBIS.
Not too experienced with non-native lenses, so I can't give you too much feedback. I plan on getting some other lenses to try out different looks though in the future.
As far as aspect ratios in camera go, there are no standard anamorphic settings. You can pop on an anamorphic lens and edit in post to proper ratios. It’s worth a try if you want some stellar 10-bit 4:2:2 externally recorded footage!
Oh boy, it definitely added up, but at the time I acquired it all, I rolled all my profit from selling off my entire Sony system, including the 400mm f2.8 GM etc. This stuff adds up fast!
