I wish I were 10 again. That moment when I first played this game.. I will never be able to feel that feeling again. Everything was innocent, life was an adventure, and I was curious as well as clueless. I used to wish that MapleStory were real only cause I was socially awkward in real life and lacked the confidence to talk to people. This game helped me grow up. I learned that some of the best people in the world are too far to reach and that you must accept how things go. I just wish I could experience it again, like a virgin, haha. Back when there were only four classes, pirates hadn't even been out yet; hell, Ludibrium and Aqua Road weren't even created yet. I was imaginative and would play hide and seek without using /find with my friends, or play 'House' and made-up coming-of-age stories about child heroes. And now I'm 19, feeling unimaginative and unsure with what I want to do with the rest of my life. Surely, this game has imprinted its mark on me, one that has helped me and will never be forgotten. Damn man, that hit me so hard. I remember those days. You'd play for hours on end. Morning to night, you don't even get a level. Once you get to level, it's a milestone. You had everybody congratulating you for something that was so hard to achieve, yet so satisfying. I still remember the era you were talking about. I believe I was 7. I remember my own account. Level 20. Everybody worked together, played together, talked to each other together. Man, I'm almost tearing up writing this. It had its time, and it was so worth it. Maple Story 2005 - 2008, you will never be missed.

Remember Henesys Hunting Ground 1 where all the high level players show off how much damage they can do to Snails and Mushrooms and have fun kill stealing the noobs? Remember how much of a crazy lagfest Ch. 1 Freemarket Entrance was? Remember all the Maple Mafia economy monopolizing guilds DC hacking anyone who dares take their shop spot in the Free Market? Remember not being able to say words like Savage Blow and Grape Juice cause they apparently had curse words in them? REMEMBER HOW LEVELING UP TOOK FREAKING FOREVER? Remember logging onto your character and all your friends/guildmates say "hello" or "welcome back" to you? Remember venturing into the Ant Tunnel in Sleepywood, getting lost, getting scared of all the monsters in there, asking for a higher level player to help you and hold your hand? Then asking them for a friend request, so they can help you later on in your Maple life? And then your friend gives you equipment and potions they don't need, and helps you fight against asshole players? And then later finding out they aren't logging on anymore because they moved on with life? [feels intensifies] Just like us.

What happened to that beautiful game ? I bet, the most of you, me included, remember the good ol days. You went to piggie peach, but not alone. Always with one in the party who was some levels higher than you to support you. You ran around at LVL 15 and wore LVL 8 clothes, cuz you couldnt afford some mesos for armor. You made quests because you knew thats some easy way to get some EXP. You freaking raged at the jumping quests. You used to say like: "CLERIC PQ PLS!" You hit LVL 30 and became a new job and it totally was an achievement. You had that one job, that class, that skill you always used to play and use. You had your favourite city with their pretty own pretty beautiful theme song you used to chill like for me it was totally Ellinia. That music chilled me soooo hard. You went crazy at "Arwen and the glass shoe" quest. You was totally excited you arrived Ludi for the first time. Your first boss was the slime king in Kerning PQ. You never understood what GMS or JMS in Ludi PQ meant. After you knew it, you felt like a reeeaal pro, to know what it meant, and what the different was. You went crazy for that one weapon you saved your mesos all days. You had to have some skills to become pretty strong and high LVL. You had that one pretty special feeling after a full 4 hour leveling marathon and a LVL UP. You chilled with your guild at the FM just to pose or talk or throwing stuff to that ol keeper right on his little own stage. You went through the full FM, through every store, just to find that one little item you wanted soooo bad. The highest throwingstars were Ilbis. And you felt preety awesome just throwing them at some random dudes, juuust to improve them. That was pretty me. You used flashjump where ever you could and whenever you could. Little noobs went crazy for this jump. You went crazy the first time you saw someone doing the flashjump. You discovered the Cash Shop and went toootally insane for all that awesome stuff that they had right here. You created your perfect wish list in it JUST with the hope, that someone sees it and says "hey dude, here." and bought you the stuff. Your first time buying stuff in Cash Shop and i bet you got addicted to it just for a time. Someone longer, the other maybe not so long, but i know, we all took that step and got addicted to it (: Maple Story, if you read that, i just wanna let you know, that i totally miss you. Where did you go ? You let us, the true maplers, down. You were such a beautiful game. I really miss you. and i bet its not only me. Damn... i want back that good old day Maple Story.

I remember leveling to 120 was one of the hell toughest thing to do, I remember having a Steely is counted as god, having a Ilbi is counted as unbeatable, having a hwabi means you have connection with GM, I remember having 5 party on Zakum and it took us 40 Minutes to down it I remember HPQ, KPQ and MC, I remember bathrobe with more than 20 dex, luk, int, str would fetch more than 1.5b I remember there isn't cubing, enhancement system etc, I remember it was about having fun, making friends, chilling and not about having the ambition to down bosses in less than 10sec I remember and always will. R.I.P old Maplestory.
I really miss those old day that I was student and play maplestory without worry. But now I got a job to work and really feel upset and worried. sigh...really want to go back those happy days.
Don't get me wrong, I miss the old Maplestory too. The only reason why we're all feeling nostalgic is because of how we thought of Maplestory as a kid.
this is probably the song that makes me cry the most, it takes me back to when i was really young. i think i was like 8 when i started playing and it sucks because i could not appreciate the game as much, being so young. I recently started playing again and yeah it was fun, but after a few weeks i got tired of it. Leveling is so easy. And why did they make one of my favorite maps in ludibrium, path of time require star force to fight the monsters? That is so annoying.
I remember when I was younger, my brother and I would play Maple story all summer long until 3 in the morning. we had so much fun together, we were truely friends. But then my brother decided that he wanted to be social, so he started working out, rowing crew, and spending a lot of time with his friends from school. This makes me cry a river. I remember those fun, long, summer nights that I truely had fun in. I must thank you maple story for those good years and for getting me through childhood.

I used to play this so much, with friends and groups, getting on every day. I woke up at 8:00 and played till 12:00 at night LOL. Leveling up my classes. After BB...however. Everything changed once the buff's attacked. Soloing Zakum at 120. Getting Godly Equips buy using real money. Pathetic. I can't believe how Nexon changed. I know it was for their fans... but.... come on. :(
Hikari Shiowits ACTUALLY Wizet at least when NA servers launched was under Nexon, but with only financial cover probably. Now,yes...The grind disappeared but THAT WAS WHAT KEPT ME PLAYING. Now all that is left is music. I would still play it if it wasn't for the god-awful optimization, even a core i5 with 16 gigs and a Titan user experiences the most hilarious lag you would ever seen in a town square, and it gets worse and worse every minute you stay there. And that's considered "normal" lag when compared to Free Market Channel 1. Enter that zone the equivalent would be to try and start Internet Explorer 6 with 20,000 toolbars... ON A 500Mhz CPU!

This song is a perfect representation of what my memories of Maplestory were. This game relaxed me, I had really, really good times, and it was possibly the most fun I've had playing any game ever. I played for 2006-2009. I yearn for the past. I wish there were some way that I could just go into the past for one week and play with all my old friends, do the Ludi PQ, grind on monsters, try to get to Zakum as a level 51...thank you, Maple, for all of these memories. Nothing will replace you.
Maplestory was full of noobs back than, who couldn't solo bossess and get godly equips with godly ranges. I BET I CAN KS ALL OF YOU!!! .... People say I'm stupid for saying Maple was a part of my life, but it was, and it is. And it will be for a long time. The friends you make on there make it all worthwhile, and I will never forget all the daft things we did and the friendships I made. I loved it. I remember when I started playing it, way back in 2005. Times have changed.
Game effectively ended after the Big Bang update. If you're interested in going through pretty annoying and sketchy sign up + download processes for private servers, you can get servers that are running the game just before the big bang update, totally worth it though. Even classic Maplestory, despite how grindy it was, is worth trying to get into. I tried it like a couple years back, and it's a complete clusterfuck of randomness. I mean, jeez, you encounter the golem enemies like 30~ minutes into gameplay, that's how crazy easy it was when I tried it again.
My old guild that I spent countless hours with, I'm not sure where you guys vanished to so long ago, but if you're reading this, thanks for the great times, Maple will never be the same.

I thought it was just me, but yeah I can't really play any other mmorpgs. Maplestory is probably my first and last mmorpg. Not to say that I haven't tried other mmorpgs, like Aura Kingdom, TERA, Forsaken World, Perfect World, and plenty of other games.

A long time ago, back when maple story was just the 4 classes, before guilds and the trade areas, I played with a trio of people who I enjoyed my time with immensely. ChawowaV2, Rumi and Megawarrior. 3 people who I've long since lost contact to, but will never forget the times we spent together. This song reminds me of them, bringing back nostalgia for the old days where we would explore, level and play together. Memories that I'll keep with me always.

Honestly I feel as if this game is the epitome of my youth. I feel so blessed that I was able to experience this as a child. I have so much memories of this game. I'd spend countless hours with my friends exploring the maple world. Even now, 6 years later, I can still remember the happiness I felt every time I entered that world. So much has changed since that time, yet I am so glad that this game had such an impact on my life. I'll always remember those magical days.

A friend introduced me to this game on September 2006. It gave me so many shocks, was in ave the first time I saw 100 fame, or when I got 100,000 meso from my friend (which I spent in 1 minute), learning new things, meeting people for the first time. MapleStory was my first online game, I still play it to this day, although, I really miss the COMMUNITY, larger maps. I love the graphics of today, but what I miss is that you have to rely on others to get anywhere, now its so easy alone, it kind of beats the purpose, there's no community, no real competition. Nexon is trying to change this, but changing years of bad habit isn't easy. What annoys me the most is the damage, back then you were the shiz if you hit 1k, now people hit 50mil. I will try MapleStory 2 as well when it gets an international release. I was 15, about to turn 16 when I first logged on. Quite probable, with tears in my eyes, the last time I log on will be the day they shut down, cheering with my friends, thanking them for the wonder years.

Nowhere near the same as it was almost 10 years ago, you could get to almost max level in the time span of two weeks, the community is dead like everybody became fucking anti-social, so party questing is hardly a thing, there were tons of changes to existing maps, and the game has like 27 different fucking classes, because from what I see that's all that comes out after a few months. The Adventurer classes have barely been playable due to the fact that Hero, Cygnus, and Resistance all outclass it any day apparently. I truly miss this game from way back when.

You got it spot on. At least that's the element I miss most. The peaceful aspect of the game, it had a slower pace but a larger sense of freedom and self-direction. The screen wasn't covered in event markers, quests and things werent popping up on your character non-stop reminding you that there is stuff to do. If you wanted things to do you looked for it and found it yourself and it felt so much more rewarding that way. I didn't do it because I was told to, I did it because I wanted to.

At the age of 8-11. Now I'm 15 and haven't been on Maplestory since. But that's ok, I want to treasure the memories of old MS! I wonder how my "bf" and my friends are doing now...
This just sounds like home to me....i remember those days where i rush home from school and spend hours on maple,battling monsters,traveling to orbis, leveling up, discovering new maps, making friends and maple families! It's a shame that maple is hardly a friendly place anymore. Nostalgic memories. Remember those days where we could travel underwater or the days where we would joke about with our friends when we died together and became ghosts?
Back then when there wasn't even a third job. Used to walk round the map with my pals in a party, hunting down mobs, slacking away and having fun. That was memories in which I will never forget. Maple today just doesn't have that slow paced yet relaxing tension. :')

You had your favourite city with their pretty own pretty beautiful theme song you used to chill like for me it was totally Ellinia. That music chilled me soooo hard.
You went crazy at "Arwen and the glass shoe" quest.
You was totally excited you arrived Ludi for the first time.
Your first boss was the slime king in Kerning PQ.
You never understood what GMS or JMS in Ludi PQ meant.
After you knew it, you felt like a reeeaal pro, to know what it meant, and what the different was.
You went crazy for that one weapon you saved your mesos all days.
You had to have some skills to become pretty strong and high LVL.
You had that one pretty special feeling after a full 4 hour leveling marathon and a LVL UP.
You chilled with your guild at the FM just to pose or talk or throwing stuff to that ol keeper right on his little own stage.
You went through the full FM, through every store, just to find that one little item you wanted soooo bad.
The highest throwingstars were Ilbis. And you felt preety awesome just throwing them at some random dudes, juuust to improve them. That was pretty me.
You used flashjump where ever you could and whenever you could. Little noobs went crazy for this jump.
You went crazy the first time you saw someone doing the flashjump.
You discovered the Cash Shop and went toootally insane for all that awesome stuff that they had right here.
You created your perfect wish list in it JUST with the hope, that someone sees it and says "hey dude, here." and bought you the stuff.
Your first time buying stuff in Cash Shop and i bet you got addicted to it just for a time. Someone longer, the other maybe not so long, but i know, we all took that step and got addicted to it (:

Not a big fan of mages, but ellinia has the best theme of all the other class-towns.
I remember leveling to 120 was one of the hell toughest thing to do,
I remember having a Steely is counted as god, having a Ilbi is counted as unbeatable, having a hwabi means you have connection with GM,
I remember having 5 party on Zakum and it took us 40 Minutes to down it
I remember HPQ, KPQ and MC,
I remember bathrobe with more than 20 dex, luk, int, str would fetch more than 1.5b
I remember there isn't cubing, enhancement system etc,
I remember it was about having fun, making friends, chilling and not about having the ambition to down bosses in less than 10sec
I remember and always will.

this is probably the song that makes me cry the most, it takes me back to when i was really young. i think i was like 8 when i started playing and it sucks because i could not appreciate the game as much, being so young. I recently started playing again and yeah it was fun, but after a few weeks i got tired of it. Leveling is so easy. And why did they make one of my favorite maps in ludibrium, path of time require star force to fight the monsters? That is so annoying.
I remember when I was younger, my brother and I would play Maple story all summer long until 3 in the morning. we had so much fun together, we were truely friends. But then my brother decided that he wanted to be social, so he started working out, rowing crew, and spending a lot of time with his friends from school.
This makes me cry a river. I remember those fun, long, summer nights that I truely had fun in. I must thank you maple story for those good years and for getting me through childhood.

I used to play this so much, with friends and groups, getting on every day. I woke up at 8:00 and played till 12:00 at night LOL. Leveling up my classes. After BB...however. Everything changed once the buff's attacked. Soloing Zakum at 120. Getting Godly Equips buy using real money. Pathetic. I can't believe how Nexon changed. I know it was for their fans... but.... come on. :(

Hikari Shiowits ACTUALLY Wizet at least when NA servers launched was under Nexon, but with only financial cover probably. Now,yes...The grind disappeared but THAT WAS WHAT KEPT ME PLAYING. Now all that is left is music.
I would still play it if it wasn't for the god-awful optimization, even a core i5 with 16 gigs and a Titan user experiences the most hilarious lag you would ever seen in a town square, and it gets worse and worse every minute you stay there. And that's considered "normal" lag when compared to Free Market Channel 1. Enter that zone the equivalent would be to try and start Internet Explorer 6 with 20,000 toolbars... ON A 500Mhz CPU!

This song is a perfect representation of what my memories of Maplestory were. This game relaxed me, I had really, really good times, and it was possibly the most fun I've had playing any game ever. I played for 2006-2009. I yearn for the past. I wish there were some way that I could just go into the past for one week and play with all my old friends, do the Ludi PQ, grind on monsters, try to get to Zakum as a level 51...thank you, Maple, for all of these memories. Nothing will replace you.

The friends you make on there make it all worthwhile, and I will never forget all the daft things we did and the friendships I made. I loved it. Maplestory is crap nowadays, they added way too many overpowered classes and basically ruined the game.

Game effectively ended after the Big Bang update. If you're interested in going through pretty annoying and sketchy sign up + download processes for private servers, you can get servers that are running the game just before the big bang update, totally worth it though. Even classic Maplestory, despite how grindy it was, is worth trying to get into. I tried it like a couple years back, and it's a complete clusterfuck of randomness. I mean, jeez, you encounter the golem enemies like 30~ minutes into gameplay, that's how crazy easy it was when I tried it again.
You should come back on reboot world. I enjoy playing maplestory for 1 month with V update. You willn't regret

hi, when I hear this I just want to say that the old maplestory wasn't just a game. It was really a way of magic for me. I guess it's gone but lives through my heart somewhere. We all got this magic feeling from the old maplestory. It was a part of my grow- up.

I love this song. I played this for about 3 - 4 years. I still play it now. Before the big bang things were cool and fun and not as confusing. The song makes me feel happy and remind me of how I had so many good times

A long time ago, back when maple story was just the 4 classes, before guilds and the trade areas, I played with a trio of people who I enjoyed my time with immensely. ChawowaV2, Rumi and Megawarrior. 3 people who I've long since lost contact to, but will never forget the times we spent together. This song reminds me of them, bringing back nostalgia for the old days where we would explore, level and play together. Memories that I'll keep with me always.

Honestly I feel as if this game is the epitome of my youth. I feel so blessed that I was able to experience this as a child. I have so much memories of this game. I'd spend countless hours with my friends exploring the maple world. Even now, 6 years later, I can still remember the happiness I felt every time I entered that world. So much has changed since that time, yet I am so glad that this game had such an impact on my life. I'll always remember those magical days.

A friend introduced me to this game on September 2006. It gave me so many shocks, was in ave the first time I saw 100 fame, or when I got 100,000 meso from my friend (which I spent in 1 minute), learning new things, meeting people for the first time. MapleStory was my first online game, I still play it to this day, although, I really miss the COMMUNITY, larger maps. I love the graphics of today, but what I miss is that you have to rely on others to get anywhere, now its so easy alone, it kind of beats the purpose, there's no community, no real competition. Nexon is trying to change this, but changing years of bad habit isn't easy. What annoys me the most is the damage, back then you were the shiz if you hit 1k, now people hit 50mil.
I will try MapleStory 2 as well when it gets an international release.

Hey, I can only say that we all know the magic feeling that maplestory has given to us. Though it might be ruined these days, we can't bring it back. We have grown older, that magical feeling that we had in the old days will never feel the same. It is not bad that people create these old classic servers, but we can't change the way maplestory has changed. For all the changes that maplestory has done, I hope that this theme song for elinia will forever be the same.

Nowhere near the same as it was almost 10 years ago, you could get to almost max level in the time span of two weeks, the community is dead like everybody became fucking anti-social, so party questing is hardly a thing, there were tons of changes to existing maps, and the game has like 27 different fucking classes, because from what I see that's all that comes out after a few months. The Adventurer classes have barely been playable due to the fact that Hero, Cygnus, and Resistance all outclass it any day apparently. I truly miss this game from way back when.

guy112ex YES THEY DID! They made the maple island looks like an island used to lock insanely bad-taste prisoners, and turned henesys and all towns into some crowded market, as much as we miss the old maple we have to accept it is one heaven we can never go back.

You got it spot on. At least that's the element I miss most. The peaceful aspect of the game, it had a slower pace but a larger sense of freedom and self-direction. The screen wasn't covered in event markers, quests and things werent popping up on your character non-stop reminding you that there is stuff to do. If you wanted things to do you looked for it and found it yourself and it felt so much more rewarding that way. I didn't do it because I was told to, I did it because I wanted to.

@catsaica alright, let me just run through the entire process, 1st of all, theres a website that has all the early maple story music (thejasoneffect), but windows movie maker won't accept it because of copyright stuff (its integrated into the mp3). so, i downloaded audacity, LAME library (to make the recording into a mp3), maple dump, and of coarse, Maple Story. i take the screenshots (scroll lock key). i open up maple dump, go to the sounds/music folder, play the music i'm looking for, ...

The good memories I will probably remember for the rest of my life :) I remember I played so much that even though I was a mere lvl 42, I knew EVERYTHING there was to know about Maplestory... This just sounds like home to me....i remember those days where i rush home from school and spend hours on maple,battling monsters,traveling to orbis, leveling up, discovering new maps, making friends and maple families! It's a shame that maple is hardly a friendly place anymore. Nostalgic memories. Remember those days where we could travel underwater or the days where we would joke about with our friends when we died together and became ghosts?

Back then when there wasn't even a third job. Used to walk round the map with my pals in a party, hunting down mobs, slacking away and having fun. That was memories in which I will never forget. Maple today just doesn't have that slow paced yet relaxing tension. :')
