Everytime I listen to this, I literally shed a tear. I miss 2000 - 2010 so much, that was truly the greatest years of my life. The balance between technology and life back then was at its peak.
haha exactly my thoughts, it wasn't advanced enough where you could be endlessly entertained at home, but also was advanced enough to communicate and meet up with people. I'm just happy to have experienced that as a kid. :')
I'm not as old as everyone here is. I never played Maplestory in its golden days, I wasn't even born yet before the big bang. Yet, I still feel nostalgic listening to these songs. There's something about the audio compression and the sounds used that feeds my desire of going back to 2000-2015. The music from almost every Flash game or online game used to be like this. I can feel how the producer put his heart onto making this music and I just know that he was dedicated and devoted to his job, I wish I could hear more of him and I wish I could have been a Mapler. I often imagine how the game used to be reading these comments, I also wish I could've met some of these people. :(

The older I get the more bittersweet thinking about older maplestory and seeing the community being nostalgic about it everything gets. Somehow for me back then felt more like the real world than it is now. I felt more real, the emotions thoughts and experiences were all so significant. I don't know why I'm crying as I'm writing this but I am. I can only wish the people I met and the community that once existed will still remain in many hearts
I feel the same. I started playing maplestory when I was 11 4-5 years before the big bang update. My older brother was very protective and made sure I was not exposing any private info to strangers online especially since I was a very young girl at the time, but honestly the community at the time was so wholesome most of the time that I never had issues with anyone being inappropriate with me (which I have encountered in basically every other game I've played where people discovered I was a girl). I was able to just fully throw myself into the game and have so much fun playing solo or doing PQs with my brother and his friends, who were all so welcoming and encouraging. I started falling off the game not long after the big bang update, but maplestory was such a huge part of my daily life for YEARS. I even used a cheap voice recorder I got as a hand-me-down during the time I was actively playing, which I used all 10 slots to record music from my favorite maple story maps to listen to later. I'm so grateful and happy to now have so much easy access to maplestory music these days. I tear up sometimes listening to it as well when the nostalgia for those times aches in my soul. I get my fix of the OG maplestory sometimes by playing on private servers that are pre-big bang occasionally, but without the old community its just not the same vibe.

To me, the saddest part is those days are gone forever. Unlike a single player game on a console that you can load up years from now, we will never, ever have the experience of 05-07 Maple again. Due to a variety of reasons, private servers can never recreate the experience we had. That's why to me, listening to just the music is more nostalgic than trying to recreate the experience on a private server.
I agree completely. 06-07 were two of the best years of my life and it went down-hill in 2008 when they started changing stuff. I remember all the friends I made on this game and the dumb stuff we used to do. Man... I really miss my buddies.
idk man I have had a great experience on a private server, when I started playing it it was a serious nostalgia overload. The slightly higher exp amount makes it a bit less of a grind, which I appreciate because I am not 13 anymore with nothing but time; I like that there is still a grind but not the ridiculous levels it was at during the mid to late 2000s. I would definitely recommend anyone to try out an oldschool maple private server, even just to mess around for a week or two and experience that nostalgia rush. The userbase is usually just as talkative as back in the day because EVERYONE is looking for that oldschool experience; every time I play I end up chatting with random people and gradually build out my friend list.

The nostalgia is real.. i only played this game for about 2-3 years almost 10 years ago but I still think about it. I used to spend 8+ hours a day, playing my cleric/bishop (a class that seemingly no longer exists).
I used to play so much that I would get the notification to take a break multiple times a day. I have a macbook now so I dont play anymore, but once I get a PC you know ill be downloading the game once more to play

2005~2008까지 초등학교 에서 중학교에 걸쳐서 메이플에 미쳐 있었는데 진짜 그 때 추억이 새록새록 떠오르네요 지금이야 진짜로 여행을 다니지만, 이 땐 공부하고 학교끝나고 놀고 오면 집에서 이런 브금 들으면서 메이플하는게 여행 다니는것 마냥 모험 하는 기분도 들고 즐거웠었죠. 지금은 게임에 흥미가 없어서 메이플 시작해볼까하고 게임 깔고 10분하고 나면 재미없어서 바로 지우는데 ...이 때 레벨업도 잘 안되고 게임 자본모으기도 힘들었지만 이 때 메이플 했던것 만큼 미치게 해본 게임이 이거 이후론 없었네요.
I used to binge Maplestory so much. Some days I would spend 16 hours playing just to get to level 30 and experience that feeling of finally getting your second job skills. Back then for me, as a 6-year-old, ability points were not really strategized, but rather put into what ability looked "the coolest to use". People used to spam the full-map skills in Free Market and I would think about how cool they look. I feel like the game itself is so different and buggy nowadays that post-Big-Bang players can't really feel what it felt like to play before Big Bang. Maplestory now is more of "get to the highest level" rather than "socialize in ToT or Henesys or Free Market. I rmbr Monster Carnival and the old Mushroom Kingdom and all the times spent hiding from the Balrogs on what seemed like a 10 minute trip to Orbis that there was no way out of. Max level was 200, and for Cygnus Knights and special classes, it was 120. Maplestory is IMO too easy now, which is good. But lvl 100 doesn't give you that satisfaction from months in front of the computer... Sorry that was long but pre-Big-Bang Maplestory holds a special place in my heart. Hope they bring it back.
Same since i started pre big bang haha but for me ,aft post big bang i was finally able to lvl up my bandit to 120 and it was the best feeling i had to finally achieve a first 4th job but now i dont think i will feel the same feeling as i did back then since grinding became easy
I feel the same as you, but only one thing is different, We all miss the feelings we had at those special moments, but unfortunately we cannot experience them again, even if they do bring back the old maplestory, it won't feel the same. I believe the game developed a lot in the last couple of years, not in a social way, which is pretty bad but also gives you the option to do it by yourself, at the time, maple would take a lot of hours to achieve something, while it gave you the satisfaction of achieving it, it took too much of your time, and people seemed to care less about the game because it wasn't rewarding. now days you do have the option to socialize with people, and still maintain a good amount of rewarding things. bringing back the old maple won't change anything beside giving you nostalgia, but playing the current state of the game, and trying to socialize with people could be the key, people do seem to seek it, but try to hide it, people became shyer and more aware of themselves. guilds are a great place for people to connect aswell. p.s sorry for the long comment.
Yeah! You have same memory with me! All the time for waiting the cruise to Orvis(maybe) in Ellysia was full of talking. We all wanted to go back into the ship when the Barlogs come but the fcking potal was too small to goal in lol!!! Traveling to unknowing continent was the most interesting thing to do that time... All the equipments and items seemed cool although they were just garbages to buy portions. However the purity of our childhood may be gone and im afraid if i can enjoy the old-maplestory when it comes again. Enjoy your life! There are lots of games nowadays to play and you would be able to find yours.

This music brings me joy but also sadness. It reminds me of a simple time that I can never go back to. I'm 20 years old now, and I have no idea what I'm doing with my life. There's no need to feel sorry at all! Nostalgia and melancholy are often hand in hand. I can totally relate with what you're going through and I might not be the biggest inspiration, but my best advice for you is to remember that everyone has the potential to shine. There are unique traits you have that bring people to you and make you an inspiration to others, even when you think you're not, so who cares how fast people are growing up. What matters is that you're nourishing and growing your own healthy journey; others will look up to you when they realize how blind they were in missing how amazing you truly are. Life's tough, but diamonds weren't made easy. You gotta go through the rough peaks of life before you come out looking like a superstar.
Not long ago I was in the same situation as you are, I wasn't feeling very well and I also know that this is such a cliché but life will get better, you just gotta find something that you enjoy and work for it. Life isn't easy and I learned that the hard way, but somehow I am still here and finally I am starting to make my life into something, it is not a lot but I am atleast proud of what I got. You are amazing in your own way and I hope you will find that thing in your life that makes you feel like you got a purpose, I know life can suck and all, but you are never alone. Who else remembers the Ariant Challenge and Monster Carnival? those 2 will always be my favourites, especially Ariant. I remember how we grinded for that palm tree chair. And in my server (MapleSEA) when PvP came out they launched an event with GM inside the game. I remember I used a nightwalker, had a clutch moment, won first place and after the game the GM gave me a Moon Star Chair. Epic times.
The music, maps, memories, friends, countless hours spent in the game will forever hold a special spot in my heart. As a teen Maplestory was more than just a silly game on the computer (as my parents thought), but was a part of my development into who I am today. It taught me barter skills, social skills, gratitude, hard work, adventure, commitment, passion, and more. Thank you Maple for some of the best times of my life and thank you for uploading this video so I can always go back to experience the blissful nostalgia of what was such a simpler time.

Played this game when I was 5 and now I am 23 about to start working soon. Sometime I come back to listen music to treasure my precious memories during my childhood. My parents said gaming is a waste of time, but even if I look back now, I can proudly say it was definitely the best moment of my life.
I got to know this game through my mom, and she was at lv 156 11 years ago. She called me to play together, gave me some outfits and a friend of her gave me 500k mesos because I wanted to get a "cool mage outfit" from a NPC's shop. It was the beginning of my Krabby's journey. Played until lv 20 but got really bored having to wait for the ship to come, and set sail. Stopped playing, but later on, four years ago was the time I started to play it for real, started out with a Kanna (Kaggura from EMS), then when I got to Henesys, listenning to that song felt sooo familiar. After that I went straight to Elinia, which was the place my mage was born at. I recognized the song as well! Gosh, talk about goosebumps. I think one of the best things this game has is their songs. Honestly, they can be easily recognizeable, because going through more than 7 years without ever playing the game, I recalled everything through these wonderful soundtracks.
These new players don’t even know! Especially early morning with the opening bgm. And the tropical breeze heating up some pizza rolls and making cold iced tea!

When I started playing this game, I remember I was going through a very hard time in my life, but this game... This was my escape, my way of disconnecting from life, the stress, and everything, the moment I'd logging and all my friends and guildies would receive me with a WB! That was true happiness, all the beautiful experiences, all the amazing friends, and all the wonderful time I spent in this game is something I will treasure forever~!
The Nostalgia of the second song, Moonlight Shadow hit me REALLY hard... Many of the other music tracks I've listened to from time to time in my adult life, but I haven't heard that particular one since I was a kid. Really brought me back to the days we all take for granted of not having so many adult responsibilities and other hardships life throws at you, and just losing myself in the universe they created and making new online friends. I literally started breaking down in tears when I heard that one. I felt like I probably really needed that! Thanks for this playlist!
Been going down this nostalgia trip lately with old MMO's i played as a kid / early teens, started with Flyff last night - whether it's just watching videos or the music, games like Flyff, and Maplestory and even Old School Runescape just had this charm to them, specially early days in which memories were being created, memories i still keep with me, the friendships, the joy, man.. reflecting back on it now, specially this year that is completely throughout... times were so simple back than. Such fond memories that surpass just a nostalgic feeling, rather times in which were thoroughly amazing.
This game was such a big part of my childhood and just now I was getting so stressed because I couldn't bring myself to do my assignment, now that I hear this music I am so calm and ready to study. Just making me feel how this game was everything to me in my childhood and helped me become who I am today, and it even helps me now, after all this years... Seriously it is something with some of these songs that makes me want to tear up, I haven't cried in so long now but this just makes me want to go back to the days when I could go home from school and play this game not knowing how much it would affect my life in such a positive way. Maplestory was one of the fondest sets of memories I had. Taught me basic economics and how to be a small-time entrepreneur, a kind citizen who would help lower leveled players gain xp, someone who would pawn off my lower leveled items that I no longer needed. All in all, one of the best gaming communities I've ever experienced. All vibes, no hate, just chillin on the boat together talking with others waiting to arrive to our next destination.
This game consumed my life throughout middle school and high school.. back when times were so much simpler, the community was both engaging and fun to interact with, wholesome even. The first time i got my ilbi, grinding PQ for exp, demon slayer and the op whole map skill, tutorial island and how the orange cap mushroom took eons to kill, so many memories, back to a simpler time, the nostalgia and chills are unreal, what a phenomenal game and community back in the day..

i really missed those old maple global days (2006-2008). I was 13 and met my closest friend older than me that I entrusted my account and gave me free nx for haircut. We even got to play trickster online, and the pool game from yahoo. Communications got cut off since she started to play lord of the rings online and my pc was only capable of running maplestory. I still remember her IGN on maplestory bera server 'Barney69' crossbowman. My old character still shows on ranking. Started playing ms global again in 2015 and left again in 2018 and it was my first time to spend almost $500 just for online game cash items and only in maplestory out of all games that i played. I hope my old friend is living her life.
Though I've never played it, it's my second time listening to MapleStory's OSTs, and it's just breathtakingly beautiful. The atmosphere it gives off is just so soothing yet entrancing. I just love it.
Mama it most certainly evokes a sense of nostalgia, even for non-players. Almost like projecting the listeners into an interconnected dream, it makes you feel like youre transported into an alternate dimension where you feel connected to everyone in some way. This is that community and Im glad youre able to cherish and appreciate the experience.

767 hours of joy and still growing to this day, I may not of gotten to see the prime of Maplestory back then but I sure did make a lot of friends and made a lot of memories with this game.
I never grew up on this video game because I was never allowed to own a pc at home as a kid... but I distinctly remember how relaxing the music was when I watched my friend play Maple story. If I can go back in time I would love to play this game as a kid :D
This brings me back to the days of when people needed to ride the Airships to each of the major towns in the game, it was an inconvenience as they took way too damn long, but the random balrogs raiding the ship and the people who sat down in the cabin made the whole experince better.

I remember I started playing this game when the training camp was the tutorial. I probably made and remade my character seven or eight times because I thought the game was broken because I couldn't leave the starting platform. I still remember when I finally got inside for the first time. And now I'm gonna go reinstall Maple.
Only kids born in 99 who played this game since they were like 7 would understand how carefree video games are back in the days. Maplestory was like the gateway drug for me to other MMOs but no other could give me the same feel compare to Maple due to how young I played this and amount of memories that were created resulting in this intense nostalgia. Thank you Maple for shaping my childhood.....You will be missed but never forgotten

sky sky 1초 전 메이플 브금은 진짜 명작이다.. 예전에 하던 그 때가 너무 그립다. 공부는 제쳐두고 집 안에 어른 없으면 일단 켜놓고 마을을 돌아다니며 물약 사고, 사냥다니고, 마을 곳곳에 숨겨져있는 포탈 타고 다니면서 놀고. 브금이 좋아서 친구랑 얘기하고 있기만 해도 정말 좋았다. 한 스테이지에서 하루 이상으로 오래 머물러야하니 그 마을의 브금은 당연히 외우게 되고, 그 맵에 나오는 몹들도 전부 기억한다. 브금을 어떻게 이렇게 지을 수가 있을까. 그 마을에서 나오는 몬스터들과도 어울린다. 지금의 메이플은 한 마을에서 있는 시간이 기껏해야 1시간남짓. 초보자면 더하고. 추억을 만들만한 시간도 없다. 예전엔 정말 말 그대로 모험을 떠나는 느낌으로 재밌었는데. 아직도 엘리니아에 오르비스로 가는 배가 생긴다는 소식에 기뻤던 그 감정이 잊히지가 않는다. 사람이 너무 많아서 타지 못하고 한참을 기다리고 기다리다가 타서는. 처음 보는 사람들과 얘기를 나누고, 정거장에 내려서 헤어지기도 하고, 친추를 남기면 사냥도중에 어디까지 했냐는 녹색 귓속말이 오기도 하고. 어느 순간 바로 옆에 나타나 함께 퀘스트를 도와주던 그 날 처음 만난 사람의 친절도 메이플스토리에선 익숙한 일이었다. 점프와 이동 속도가 고정된 채 순수한 컨트롤만으로 깨야하는 슬리피우드와 엘리니아의 약초 캐기, 슈미의 동전 찾기도 화딱지나지만 함께하던 사람들이 있어 견딜 수 있었고 재미있었다. 어디까지 하셨냐고, 나는 몇 시간 째라며 투덜거리면서도 서로 웃고 먼저 깬 사람이 후의 사람을 응원하며 기다려주는 일도 허다했고. 파티퀘스트를 기다리던 행렬들, 밧줄과 통 위에 올라가 순서를 맞추던 미니 게임, 말하지 않아도 다들 척척 합이 맞았고 실패해도 누굴 크게 탓하지않고 웃어넘겼던 그 시절들이 아직도 눈 앞에 선명하다. 지나간 추억이라 미화되었을 지도 모르지만, 난 내 시절에 했던 메이플스토리가 너무나 그립다.

Temple of Time always told me that time was running out and that I had to grow up. Every time I went in there to train, happy to be a Bowmaster shooting Hurricane, I knew I had to let go and focus on more important things. Like this June, finishing college a second time and transferring to the University dorms for my new academic life... Jeez, this game..
Dude... this game was a chunk of my childhood.. I get happy and sad hearing these songs. Used to play this with my siblings growing up, now we've mostly went our separate ways.
I feel so empty listening to these BGM"s, the nostalgia is unreal, I can't feel myself anymore, just my tears and the memories that clinge to me with these soundtracks. The sounds are incredibly authentic, I never want to forget this music, it's one of the best things EVER on this planet
Wow, 4 years ago... covid lockdown. I was a freshman in college. Now I am studying for an admissions test at the same desk. My room changed then changed back. Over the course of the past 4 years I have been through so much. Ups and very low downs. I feel I am more in touch with myself and my circumstances which a greater understanding of the world and my place in it. I look forward to continuing to evolve with the world around me. To all the people crying about maple not being the same, there are plenty of old school private servers that will make your brain shot-circuit from nostalgia overload. A few of them have a playerbase large enough to make you feel like you're actually playing the legit old maple. People are social just like the old days. I play on Mapleroyals (very small exp. increase, still plenty of grind) but there are a handful of great servers to try out.
Man I remember when I was playing with my best friend and we were in a trolling mood. So we defamed one random mage guy and screamed at each other RUN RUN RUN! Then we looked at the mini map and saw someone teleporting towards us. At that moment we knew it had to be him, so we teleported to another town..... and sure enough, the blip on the mini map came closing in again! This went on for like 15 minutes till he eventually caught up and defamed us. God...... good times. We were crying from laughter. This is but one of those great memories we have with this game.
It is pretty surprising that we who have different language each of us can share same memories about this game. Because, we Korean think maplestory is our traditional like game almost of young adult generation now used to play... Also it's very proud ..! Apparently, BGMs are good to listen.

I'm not as old as everyone here is. I never played Maplestory in its golden days, I wasn't even born yet before the big bang. Yet, I still feel nostalgic listening to these songs. There's something about the audio compression and the sounds used that feeds my desire of going back to 2000-2015. The music from almost every Flash game or online game used to be like this. I can feel how the producer put his heart onto making this music and I just know that he was dedicated and devoted to his job, I wish I could hear more of him and I wish I could have been a Mapler.
I often imagine how the game used to be reading these comments, I also wish I could've met some of these people. :(

The older I get the more bittersweet thinking about older maplestory and seeing the community being nostalgic about it everything gets. Somehow for me back then felt more like the real world than it is now. I felt more real, the emotions thoughts and experiences were all so significant.
I don't know why I'm crying as I'm writing this but I am. I can only wish the people I met and the community that once existed will still remain in many hearts

I feel the same. I started playing maplestory when I was 11 4-5 years before the big bang update. My older brother was very protective and made sure I was not exposing any private info to strangers online especially since I was a very young girl at the time, but honestly the community at the time was so wholesome most of the time that I never had issues with anyone being inappropriate with me (which I have encountered in basically every other game I've played where people discovered I was a girl). I was able to just fully throw myself into the game and have so much fun playing solo or doing PQs with my brother and his friends, who were all so welcoming and encouraging.
I started falling off the game not long after the big bang update, but maplestory was such a huge part of my daily life for YEARS. I even used a cheap voice recorder I got as a hand-me-down during the time I was actively playing, which I used all 10 slots to record music from my favorite maple story maps to listen to later. I'm so grateful and happy to now have so much easy access to maplestory music these days. I tear up sometimes listening to it as well when the nostalgia for those times aches in my soul.
I get my fix of the OG maplestory sometimes by playing on private servers that are pre-big bang occasionally, but without the old community its just not the same vibe.
The community wasn't always nice. Greetings to the 3 blokes who randomly -1 famed me because I had about 15 other fame points anyway. You guys made my day.
It's 2022 and this still brings me back to 2005. The nostalgia is real.
Of course we can play this game again, but sadly, adult life won’t allow that 😂😂

To me, the saddest part is those days are gone forever. Unlike a single player game on a console that you can load up years from now, we will never, ever have the experience of 05-07 Maple again. Due to a variety of reasons, private servers can never recreate the experience we had. That's why to me, listening to just the music is more nostalgic than trying to recreate the experience on a private server.

I agree completely. 06-07 were two of the best years of my life and it went down-hill in 2008 when they started changing stuff. I remember all the friends I made on this game and the dumb stuff we used to do. Man... I really miss my buddies.
idk man I have had a great experience on a private server, when I started playing it it was a serious nostalgia overload. The slightly higher exp amount makes it a bit less of a grind, which I appreciate because I am not 13 anymore with nothing but time; I like that there is still a grind but not the ridiculous levels it was at during the mid to late 2000s. I would definitely recommend anyone to try out an oldschool maple private server, even just to mess around for a week or two and experience that nostalgia rush. The userbase is usually just as talkative as back in the day because EVERYONE is looking for that oldschool experience; every time I play I end up chatting with random people and gradually build out my friend list.

2005~2008까지 초등학교 에서 중학교에 걸쳐서 메이플에 미쳐 있었는데 진짜 그 때 추억이 새록새록 떠오르네요 지금이야 진짜로 여행을 다니지만, 이 땐 공부하고 학교끝나고 놀고 오면 집에서 이런 브금 들으면서 메이플하는게 여행 다니는것 마냥 모험 하는 기분도 들고 즐거웠었죠. 지금은 게임에 흥미가 없어서 메이플 시작해볼까하고 게임 깔고 10분하고 나면 재미없어서 바로 지우는데 ...이 때 레벨업도 잘 안되고 게임 자본모으기도 힘들었지만 이 때 메이플 했던것 만큼 미치게 해본 게임이 이거 이후론 없었네요.

I used to binge Maplestory so much. Some days I would spend 16 hours playing just to get to level 30 and experience that feeling of finally getting your second job skills. Back then for me, as a 6-year-old, ability points were not really strategized, but rather put into what ability looked "the coolest to use". People used to spam the full-map skills in Free Market and I would think about how cool they look. I feel like the game itself is so different and buggy nowadays that post-Big-Bang players can't really feel what it felt like to play before Big Bang. Maplestory now is more of "get to the highest level" rather than "socialize in ToT or Henesys or Free Market. I rmbr Monster Carnival and the old Mushroom Kingdom and all the times spent hiding from the Balrogs on what seemed like a 10 minute trip to Orbis that there was no way out of. Max level was 200, and for Cygnus Knights and special classes, it was 120. Maplestory is IMO too easy now, which is good. But lvl 100 doesn't give you that satisfaction from months in front of the computer... Sorry that was long but pre-Big-Bang Maplestory holds a special place in my heart. Hope they bring it back.
Same since i started pre big bang haha but for me ,aft post big bang i was finally able to lvl up my bandit to 120 and it was the best feeling i had to finally achieve a first 4th job but now i dont think i will feel the same feeling as i did back then since grinding became easy

I feel the same as you, but only one thing is different, We all miss the feelings we had at those special moments, but unfortunately we cannot experience them again, even if they do bring back the old maplestory, it won't feel the same. I believe the game developed a lot in the last couple of years, not in a social way, which is pretty bad but also gives you the option to do it by yourself, at the time, maple would take a lot of hours to achieve something, while it gave you the satisfaction of achieving it, it took too much of your time, and people seemed to care less about the game because it wasn't rewarding. now days you do have the option to socialize with people, and still maintain a good amount of rewarding things. bringing back the old maple won't change anything beside giving you nostalgia, but playing the current state of the game, and trying to socialize with people could be the key, people do seem to seek it, but try to hide it, people became shyer and more aware of themselves. guilds are a great place for people to connect aswell.

Yeah! You have same memory with me! All the time for waiting the cruise to Orvis(maybe) in Ellysia was full of talking. We all wanted to go back into the ship when the Barlogs come but the fcking potal was too small to goal in lol!!! Traveling to unknowing continent was the most interesting thing to do that time... All the equipments and items seemed cool although they were just garbages to buy portions. However the purity of our childhood may be gone and im afraid if i can enjoy the old-maplestory when it comes again.

There's no need to feel sorry at all! Nostalgia and melancholy are often hand in hand. I can totally relate with what you're going through and I might not be the biggest inspiration, but my best advice for you is to remember that everyone has the potential to shine. There are unique traits you have that bring people to you and make you an inspiration to others, even when you think you're not, so who cares how fast people are growing up. What matters is that you're nourishing and growing your own healthy journey; others will look up to you when they realize how blind they were in missing how amazing you truly are.

Not long ago I was in the same situation as you are, I wasn't feeling very well and I also know that this is such a cliché but life will get better, you just gotta find something that you enjoy and work for it. You're doing fine, life is just hard and side note Maple is empty now because they ruined they game pretty quickly after the Big Bang so everyone moved onto other games.
Who else remembers the Ariant Challenge and Monster Carnival? those 2 will always be my favourites, especially Ariant. I remember how we grinded for that palm tree chair. And in my server (MapleSEA) when PvP came out they launched an event with GM inside the game. I remember I used a nightwalker, had a clutch moment, won first place and after the game the GM gave me a Moon Star Chair. Epic times.
The music, maps, memories, friends, countless hours spent in the game will forever hold a special spot in my heart. As a teen Maplestory was more than just a silly game on the computer (as my parents thought), but was a part of my development into who I am today. It taught me barter skills, social skills, gratitude, hard work, adventure, commitment, passion, and more. Thank you Maple for some of the best times of my life and thank you for uploading this video so I can always go back to experience the blissful nostalgia of what was such a simpler time.

Played this game when I was 5 and now I am 23 about to start working soon. Sometime I come back to listen music to treasure my precious memories during my childhood. My parents said gaming is a waste of time, but even if I look back now, I can proudly say it was definitely the best moment of my life.
I got to know this game through my mom, and she was at lv 156 11 years ago. She called me to play together, gave me some outfits and a friend of her gave me 500k mesos because I wanted to get a "cool mage outfit" from a NPC's shop. It was the beginning of my Krabby's journey. Played until lv 20 but got really bored having to wait for the ship to come, and set sail. Stopped playing, but later on, four years ago was the time I started to play it for real, started out with a Kanna (Kaggura from EMS), then when I got to Henesys, listenning to that song felt sooo familiar. After that I went straight to Elinia, which was the place my mage was born at. I recognized the song as well! Gosh, talk about goosebumps. I think one of the best things this game has is their songs. Honestly, they can be easily recognizeable, because going through more than 7 years without ever playing the game, I recalled everything through these wonderful soundtracks.

The Nostalgia of the second song, Moonlight Shadow hit me REALLY hard... Many of the other music tracks I've listened to from time to time in my adult life, but I haven't heard that particular one since I was a kid. Really brought me back to the days we all take for granted of not having so many adult responsibilities and other hardships life throws at you, and just losing myself in the universe they created and making new online friends. Been going down this nostalgia trip lately with old MMO's i played as a kid / early teens, started with Flyff last night - whether it's just watching videos or the music, games like Flyff, and Maplestory and even Old School Runescape just had this charm to them, specially early days in which memories were being created, memories i still keep with me, the friendships, the joy, man.. reflecting back on it now, specially this year that is completely throughout... times were so simple back than.
Such fond memories that surpass just a nostalgic feeling, rather times in which were thoroughly amazing.

This game was such a big part of my childhood and just now I was getting so stressed because I couldn't bring myself to do my assignment, now that I hear this music I am so calm and ready to study. Just making me feel how this game was everything to me in my childhood and helped me become who I am today, and it even helps me now, after all this years... I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH

Maplestory was one of the fondest sets of memories I had. Taught me basic economics and how to be a small-time entrepreneur, a kind citizen who would help lower leveled players gain xp, someone who would pawn off my lower leveled items that I no longer needed. All in all, one of the best gaming communities I've ever experienced. All vibes, no hate, just chillin on the boat together talking with others waiting to arrive to our next destination.
This game consumed my life throughout middle school and high school.. back when times were so much simpler, the community was both engaging and fun to interact with, wholesome even.
The first time i got my ilbi, grinding PQ for exp, demon slayer and the op whole map skill, tutorial island and how the orange cap mushroom took eons to kill, so many memories, back to a simpler time, the nostalgia and chills are unreal, what a phenomenal game and community back in the day..

i really missed those old maple global days (2006-2008). I was 13 and met my closest friend older than me that I entrusted my account and gave me free nx for haircut. We even got to play trickster online, and the pool game from yahoo. Communications got cut off since she started to play lord of the rings online and my pc was only capable of running maplestory. I still remember her IGN on maplestory bera server 'Barney69' crossbowman. My old character still shows on ranking. Started playing ms global again in 2015 and left again in 2018 and it was my first time to spend almost $500 just for online game cash items and only in maplestory out of all games that i played. I hope my old friend is living her life.
Though I've never played it, it's my second time listening to MapleStory's OSTs, and it's just breathtakingly beautiful. The atmosphere it gives off is just so soothing yet entrancing. I just love it.
Mama it most certainly evokes a sense of nostalgia, even for non-players. Almost like projecting the listeners into an interconnected dream, it makes you feel like youre transported into an alternate dimension where you feel connected to everyone in some way. This is that community and Im glad youre able to cherish and appreciate the experience.

I never grew up on this video game because I was never allowed to own a pc at home as a kid... but I distinctly remember how relaxing the music was when I watched my friend play Maple story. If I can go back in time I would love to play this game as a kid :D
This brings me back to the days of when people needed to ride the Airships to each of the major towns in the game, it was an inconvenience as they took way too damn long, but the random balrogs raiding the ship and the people who sat down in the cabin made the whole experince better.

I remember I started playing this game when the training camp was the tutorial. I probably made and remade my character seven or eight times because I thought the game was broken because I couldn't leave the starting platform. I still remember when I finally got inside for the first time.
And now I'm gonna go reinstall Maple.
Only kids born in 99 who played this game since they were like 7 would understand how carefree video games are back in the days. Maplestory was like the gateway drug for me to other MMOs but no other could give me the same feel compare to Maple due to how young I played this and amount of memories that were created resulting in this intense nostalgia. Thank you Maple for shaping my childhood.....You will be missed but never forgotten

메이플 브금은 진짜 명작이다.. 예전에 하던 그 때가 너무 그립다. 공부는 제쳐두고 집 안에 어른 없으면 일단 켜놓고 마을을 돌아다니며 물약 사고, 사냥다니고, 마을 곳곳에 숨겨져있는 포탈 타고 다니면서 놀고. 브금이 좋아서 친구랑 얘기하고 있기만 해도 정말 좋았다. 한 스테이지에서 하루 이상으로 오래 머물러야하니 그 마을의 브금은 당연히 외우게 되고, 그 맵에 나오는 몹들도 전부 기억한다. 브금을 어떻게 이렇게 지을 수가 있을까. 그 마을에서 나오는 몬스터들과도 어울린다.
지금의 메이플은 한 마을에서 있는 시간이 기껏해야 1시간남짓. 초보자면 더하고. 추억을 만들만한 시간도 없다. 예전엔 정말 말 그대로 모험을 떠나는 느낌으로 재밌었는데. 아직도 엘리니아에 오르비스로 가는 배가 생긴다는 소식에 기뻤던 그 감정이 잊히지가 않는다. 사람이 너무 많아서 타지 못하고 한참을 기다리고 기다리다가 타서는. 처음 보는 사람들과 얘기를 나누고, 정거장에 내려서 헤어지기도 하고, 친추를 남기면 사냥도중에 어디까지 했냐는 녹색 귓속말이 오기도 하고. 어느 순간 바로 옆에 나타나 함께 퀘스트를 도와주던 그 날 처음 만난 사람의 친절도 메이플스토리에선 익숙한 일이었다.
점프와 이동 속도가 고정된 채 순수한 컨트롤만으로 깨야하는 슬리피우드와 엘리니아의 약초 캐기, 슈미의 동전 찾기도 화딱지나지만 함께하던 사람들이 있어 견딜 수 있었고 재미있었다. 어디까지 하셨냐고, 나는 몇 시간 째라며 투덜거리면서도 서로 웃고 먼저 깬 사람이 후의 사람을 응원하며 기다려주는 일도 허다했고. 파티퀘스트를 기다리던 행렬들, 밧줄과 통 위에 올라가 순서를 맞추던 미니 게임, 말하지 않아도 다들 척척 합이 맞았고 실패해도 누굴 크게 탓하지않고 웃어넘겼던 그 시절들이 아직도 눈 앞에 선명하다.
지나간 추억이라 미화되었을 지도 모르지만, 난 내 시절에 했던 메이플스토리가 너무나 그립다.

Temple of Time always told me that time was running out and that I had to grow up. Every time I went in there to train, happy to be a Bowmaster shooting Hurricane, I knew I had to let go and focus on more important things. Like this June, finishing college a second time and transferring to the University dorms for my new academic life... Jeez, this game..

Wow, 4 years ago... covid lockdown. I was a freshman in college. Now I am studying for an admissions test at the same desk. My room changed then changed back. Over the course of the past 4 years I have been through so much. Ups and very low downs. To all the people crying about maple not being the same, there are plenty of old school private servers that will make your brain shot-circuit from nostalgia overload. A few of them have a playerbase large enough to make you feel like you're actually playing the legit old maple. People are social just like the old days. I play on Mapleroyals (very small exp. increase, still plenty of grind) but there are a handful of great servers to try out.

Man I remember when I was playing with my best friend and we were in a trolling mood. So we defamed one random mage guy and screamed at each other RUN RUN RUN! Then we looked at the mini map and saw someone teleporting towards us. At that moment we knew it had to be him, so we teleported to another town..... and sure enough, the blip on the mini map came closing in again! This went on for like 15 minutes till he eventually caught up and defamed us.
God...... good times. We were crying from laughter. This is but one of those great memories we have with this game.

It is pretty surprising that we who have different language each of us can share same memories about this game. Because, we Korean think maplestory is our traditional like game almost of young adult generation now used to play... Also it's very proud ..! Apparently, BGMs are good to listen.
