    - No dual layer = no 4 decks on 2 players.
    - No inbuilt track analyse. MPU for what?
    - No performance pads.
    - No inbuilt Wifi streaming card.
    - No inbuilt option for hard drive.
    - No loop encoder, cluttered buttons everywhere.
    - No added Tempo Ranges, still 6/10/16/100.
    - No multi touch and screen glass protection.
    - No full track buffering (still 4-beat emergency loop).
    - No AC power failure buffer = no safety shutdown
    - Small plastic Hot cues in completely the wrong place.
    - Doesn't accept SDXC cards, no exFAT, max 32GB
    - Only one media USB port with 1.0A (was 2.1A before)
    - Inferior water resistance (Denon have coated PCBs)
    - 1000$ more than a SC6000 and 1500$ than a SC5000
    ... no bashing intended, just countering the "we are club standard and worth the money" marketing arguments I see everywhere, thus copy-pasting likewise. 😏

It’s easy as a nerd/geek someone that wants it all, but they went the apple route and said unless everyone else gets their stuff together (cable companies in the west) why add anything that makes it inferior it works. • @AT-wl9yq
    @AT-wl9yq 2 года назад +1

    One thing that I think is worth mentioning is the claim about better sound quality because it upsamples everything to a higher bit rate. You can't get more than what you start out with. You can't turn an MP-3 into a lossless file. When they do stuff like that, what happens is non musical information is added to the file to trick the music player into thinking the lower grade file is something else. But an MP-3 or even a CD quality file upsampled to a higher bit rate still retains the sound quality of the original format. The only upside I can really think of is if they upsample the file before it gets to a volume control, you may be able to mitigate some of the effects of bit stripping. But that's about it.

    Given the target market, I think this will sell whenever the pandemic ends. Does it compete with Denon spec for spec and feature for feature? Probably not. But this is really like Apple vs. Windows. Those in the Pioneer ecosystem will likely to continue to buy and those who value new technologies, spec for spec and value for money will purchase other setups. Denon's software is getting more mature, which should make things more interesting.
    Plus, I think the XDJ-XZ for half the price with similar functionality is the CDJ 3000's biggest competitor for budget focused medium-large venue setups

    my first impressions are that its cluttered looks rushed and though getting rid of the cd slot is good and i like the screen there is still a static jog.After years of spinning jogs from Denon and a number of other spinners including the new Rane 12mk 2s i find this a bit of a let down.So too many buttons and a static jog means its a no from me but then i was always a bit old fashioned and the Rane 12mk 2s will be my final choice as i waited to see what pioneer would do and what they did was more of the same but too much of the same for me.A good quick review by the way.

      If Pioneers flagship stuff is meant only for venues then why do they even bother with stuff like the Tour-series which was marketed towards venues?

    • @VictorKibalchich
      @VictorKibalchich 4 года назад

      @@ReboyGTR because there are different levels of venues. AFAIK, the Tour series is aimed at touring (hence the name), kit that needs to be set up and packed down regularly for really big events. The nexus and now the CDJ 3000 are aimed at club installs. As you said originally, the XZ is more for home use (or smaller venues). I have an XZ for my soundsystem, specifically because guest DJs want CDJs but I can't afford them. Why are you getting upset about gear that's not aimed at you? It's weird.

    Only thing which is ahead of Denon is the stacked waveform - which is nice indeed. Maybe Denon could add this, but it depends on their internal architecture / how players communicate with each other. In all other aspects it looks like Denon is ahead of Pioneer. So I wonder what the Pioneer engineers did since the SC5000 came out?! Maybe they did the XDJ XZ. Then again, why they didn't took some aspects from the XZ towards the new CDJ? Eg. the big hot cue keys *below* the jog wheel? Even if they could add some aspects later in software (which in my experience is rather unlikely), the physical layout cannot be fixed later. So they have to come up (who would have thought it? :-) ) with a MK2 version shortly...
