      A quick question, is there any real benefit to counting fats and carbohydrates? In my experience, there isn't but I just want to make sure I'm not wrong. If it would give like a 5-10% better result of muscle gain per year then I will do it again.

      @@Dombz Personally, I hit my protein then I make the rest up with carbs/fats. They always alternate depending on my mood or craving. I'm still loosing fat, and not stressing over macros

    Us meat head gym rats: the gym shutdown

  • @timm7071
    @timm7071 4 года назад +6

    I just switched up my nutrition plan due to the shutdown. I was on the "seefood" diet while training and bulking, but after I noticed some muscle loss and my pants fitting a bit more snugly than I'd prefer I thought I should probably quit being stupid and get on the nutrition. That said, I have never heard a better more succinct way of explaining caloric deficits, how to go about it, etc. than this. I didn't know about the "stuff yourself" method to boost your metabolic rate though that's a pretty cool "hack" if you will, I'm definitely going to be keeping in mind (and employing). As always, awesome info! 🤙🏻💪🏻

I have reduced hours (thankfully still have a job) and no more gym, and when I started this mini cut, I quickly noticed just how much less active I was becoming. I decided to use this time to diet, but it's proven to be a little more unpredictable than before. It also doesn't help that at work they're bringing even more donuts and cinnamon rolls than before, which I've gladly obliged in...

    Thank you. I lost 60 pounds already and I've plateaued around 205 pounds for a few weeks on 1650 calories for a while. I'm going to take your advice and see if I can rekindle my metabolism by increasing my food intake. Thank you.

    Your formula on figuring out your range of caloric intake is pretty accurate. I compared it to the way I do it, with calculated fat mass and its pretty close. Much simpler too. I take it your formula assumes an approx BF, though.

    I Track calories , and macros .. i run 1700 calories a day while im cutting weight its below my BMR slightly but its never been an issue, the hard part is getting all the protein i need for my body weight of 230 while im dieting and lifting ,, not easy trying to maintain strength and gains ... I run keto , so less than 20g carbs a day , no liquid carbs and no sugar at all. Can get it with a couple of protein shakes but id rather get my macros from real food than a shake .... its a fun struggle down from 280 to 230 and im 52 years old.
