People are talking about how Les’ vocals aren’t very good but no one is acknowledging the fact that this band covered Animals in its entirety. Like how amazing is that? Les never intended on being a singer anyway
Remember listening to this cd all the time back in 10th grade when I was going to primus, claypool, buckethead, phish an oysterhead shows.. Les is a legend.
Les is one talented bass player and may be able to bring any song to his own style. He is by far far one of my favorite artists to ne playing music today.
incredible. People knocking the vocals I think don't get the genius of Claypool, it;s kinda like knocking Frank Zappa's vocals. I personally like the way Claypool and Zappa sing, they are just so......the antithesis of all things Bieber and Beyonce
***** I'm not sure if I get it... is his vocal style meant to be funny in a sarcastic way? If this is the case, then I'd say this song is not a good choice for mocking vocals.
Pariah666Banshee42 Claypool is a big fan of Pink Floyd and Rush and covers their material in his unique way which his fans appreciate. If you'll actually listen to this, there's a rather high level of musicianship. That's what Claypool is famous for and why he has friends like the guys in Rush and Tool who "get it".
***** Okay. I like his "Have a Cigar" Cover, because that was always a sarcastic song (and the intensified basslines - very interesting), and his humorous vocals suit fine. But I don't like this one, it doesn't appeal to me for various reasons. Thank you for a useful response without any flaming... which happens on RUclips quite a lot.
+Pariah666Banshee42 I'm a little late to the party, but I kind of think of it like when metal bands do covers. If they use growls in their songs, they're going to use growls in their covers. He's not trying to be "funny" per se, but more to stay true to his musical stylings.
Les was on Adam Corolla podcast on RUclips and he’s just cool as an ever. So I started diving into Pink Floyd covers and they never disappoint. He’s out on tour. Shame he don’t make it to Baltimore. Maybe in the fall. Shine on you crazy diamond
Damn, last night just thougt and comment a song Lights in the Sky, it just sounds like Pink Floyd, and now i heard this a first time, didnt even know this before. Just Great!!!!
He really is a chameleon with his musical skill i saw him at the greek theatre w/ the frog brigade he went through a list of all the bands he toured with and playing the same song he changed his style to emulate everyone from ozzy to phil lesh from greatful dead it was amazing
"Primus sucks" is a joke made by fans who actually like Primus. They even sold t-shirts at their shows that said it. I must agree with Zac, Primus sucks!
Jeez Jeremy, know your facts before you start throwing insults around. FYI: Once upon a time long long long ago fans of Primate/Primus would follow Les and the guys around saying, "You guys are great". Les would reply, "Nah, we suck". Soon the fans started yelling "You suck" at shows. Les would reply, "Why, thank you". It caught on and the rest is history, hence Primus sucks.
i hear anathema play PF, i hear riverside play PF, and now les... my favorites bands has PF influence, is good know that them listen that... only just left opeth have a cover like that, ha!
Really, really cool interpretation of a legendary song. yeah... the vocals are sub-par; and epic vocals are the furthest thing from anything Les Claypool has ever done, so who cares?! Fantastic song, fantastic cover!
Originally this version was developed for Les and six drummers (the original concept for frog bridgade) by one mister Jack Irons (pearl jam drummer, and also chili peppers iirc)
I like the music, but not the vocals. In fact, I can't stand his voice. It's not a voice you can take seriously really, makes the song seem more a parody.
I really liked this song... Until Led started singing. It just sounded kind of bland, boring and annoying. The way he sings “Shine in you crazy diamond” ruins all the great music in it!
The music was great. The song was awesome until he opened his mouth. I'm a life-long Pink Floyd fan. I enjoy good covers. Les has quite a few good Pink Floyd covers. Sadly, this is not one of them.
I don't care what anybody thinks. This cover is fucking awesome and thank you Colonel Claypool for the live frogs!
People are talking about how Les’ vocals aren’t very good but no one is acknowledging the fact that this band covered Animals in its entirety. Like how amazing is that? Les never intended on being a singer anyway
Has pink floyd played animals in its entirety in the last 30 years? No.
@@jameslane9632 and?
I love les claypool singing how could you hate on it and it goes so fucking good with this it just blends in with the noise it's beautiful
I love true covers they show respect for the music !
Remember listening to this cd all the time back in 10th grade when I was going to primus, claypool, buckethead, phish an oysterhead shows.. Les is a legend.
Dammit, it sucks being the kid that missed the 60s and was too young to enjoy the good 90s music lol
Wish oyster head do another project. I mean trey, stu, and les? Epic super trio
This brings back lots of live show memories

Damn, last night just thougt and comment a song Lights in the Sky, it just sounds like Pink Floyd, and now i heard this a first time, didnt even know this before.
Just Great!!!!
It's the overall combination of the music, his vocals are fine!
This song gives me chills every time. Thank you, Les!
like it or not Claypool is a musical artist .
Eric Smothers prodigy
Do it to it and shine you legend!
The only bad thing about this is that it isn't more popular.
Beautiful cover, best I've heard ever!

I didn't ever want that to end.

Bel hommage au Floyd. Appropriation de l'esprit, adaptation de la forme. Brillant.
marvellous

He really is a chameleon with his musical skill
i saw him at the greek theatre w/ the frog brigade

Primus are awesome. I love Pink Floyd. There's nothing bad here. Just listen to these great musicians.

"Good luck!" - Gen. Pepper
I don't care if anyone thinks les's vocals suck. I bet you no one can match him
PRIMUS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
And then some friend, +1 on you.
You are a dumb fuck. You probably listen to Ariana Grande and Justin Beiber.
"Primus sucks" is a joke made by fans who actually like Primus. They even sold t-shirts at their shows that said it. I must agree with Zac, Primus sucks!
Jeremy Stickle ... Guess you suck, and not in a primus way....
soooo am I the only person that knows that this started at shine on you crazy diamond part 2?
this is part 3, part 1 and 2 are synth and guitar solo intros
My ear buds just broke.
And "Run Like Hell".
i knew i heard les claypools influence in pink floyd you mean
Is this on 45 RPM? Cuz I think it needs to be pegged down to 33.
primus sucks

@sociopathix u got it visa versa, he meant claypool was inspired by floyd
i hear anathema play PF,
i hear riverside play PF,
and now les... my favorites bands has PF influence, is good know that them listen that...
only just left opeth have a cover like that, ha!
i would rathe have the actual primus cover this
Who cares how good his voice is? Art is subjective biitch.
Really, really cool interpretation of a legendary song. yeah... the vocals are sub-par; and epic vocals are the furthest thing from anything Les Claypool has ever done, so who cares?! Fantastic song, fantastic cover!
@AlmightyScubba No, it's combat amphibians!
its les claypool what do you expect
Damn les slaps that bass like a pimp slaps his ho! 😂 I like his pink flyod covers. 😍
@milkygear And how does that happen?
Ils chantent un peu faux certes mais ça fait tout le charme ...une interprétation un peu fin du monde comme j’aime
there Version not Floyd,s I like it very much.😁
@murph151 If only...
versione degna di apparire su Animals ;-)
I actually like this version better than Floyd's.
ofcourse! :-)
Well.... Primus sucks! But Floyd is legendary. GO HAWKS!
Now you're just talkin crazy
What have you been smoking?
Leave it to Les Claypool to improve upon pink floyd.
Originally this version was developed for Les and six drummers (the original concept for frog bridgade) by one mister Jack Irons (pearl jam drummer, and also chili peppers iirc)
Les Clapool against the spin of the sun . I think the sun wins bt a smidge
He would let it out of kindness
There is suck and there is suck. This is the good? one!
Yeah, I thought it was really enjoyable.
in a primus kinda way
i really feel sorry for you
player
Bad vocals? nah.....
1 pink floyd fan doesn't like this song
I think les is the cut of above....but even aussy pink Floyd are better. Nice cover though.
Give them aircraft .... Too long without . Toads i dont care.. give it
I really dig this but Les should stick to the Roger Waters tunes. His voice suits it better.
lots of crybabies , maybe Les should have had Gabby La La do the vocals
Anyone but him!
thank you homosessual
You got a big mouth Stink boy! Another wanna be "badass" hiding behind your keyboard.
this is a very good cover, instramentally. vocals not on though.
Primus Sucks.
The second vocal part is a large improvement over the first, though.
Waters did! ;-)
Les is a good bass player, but his voice actually doing covers of pink does not favor anything!
it favours my intelectual and spiritual needs hehe
dislike the arrangement, too obscure.
The music was great. The song was awesome until he opened his mouth. I'm a life-long Pink Floyd fan. I enjoy good covers. Les has quite a few good Pink Floyd covers. Sadly, this is not one of them.
Some of you are too wrapped up in the vocals. Musically this cover is fantastic. Vocally, it's Les Claypool, which I'm fine with.
Love Claypool, but man, to do a cover of this is not right.
❤
