Just magic. Am 60 and listening to Pink Floyd since I was a teenager. No other group creates feelings similar to those when listening to Floyd's music and lyrics. Will never ever have enough and each time it creates shivers in ne.. incant resist.. I fly in the skies..

Not sure how I got here tonight but glad I did. The beauty of the internet, sitting in Victoria BC Canada on a rainy evening listening to Pink Floyd played by an orchestra from Germany recorded years ago.
I've heard SOYCD a thousand times or more, and I love it ... always have. But, listening to this rendition got my heart fluttering again ... like a rekindling of a love that has grown too familiar. Thank you for that, and shine on Syd.

@@FreedomTown I don't mean this to take anything away from the people performing in the video. However, in this "arrangement" the keyboard/string patches were replaced by the mandolins "("orchestra"). Otherwise, the key rhythm section of base, guitar and kit remained. Not much of a transformation there. Any group of musicians talented enough to play Beethoven and Mozart would be bored out of their minds playing nothing but long notes that alternate between only a few chords over 10 minutes while accompanying a rhythm section.
@@mikesmovingimages Keen observation and your absolutely right. I thought The mandolin gave this cut of Pink Floyd Shine On a more of a Rocky Mountain High John Denver type of feel which was kinda weird I thought.

@@FreedomTown I don't mean this to take anything away from the people performing in the video. However, in this "arrangement" the keyboard/string patches were replaced by the mandolins "("orchestra"). Otherwise, the key rhythm section of base, guitar and kit remained. Not much of a transformation there. Any group of musicians talented enough to play Beethoven and Mozart would be bored out of their minds playing nothing but long notes that alternate between only a few chords over 10 minutes while accompanying a rhythm section.
@@mikesmovingimages Keen observation and your absolutely right. I thought The mandolin gave this cut of Pink Floyd Shine On a more of a Rocky Mountain High John Denver type of feel which was kinda weird I thought.
