The first season of the American superhero television series The Boys, the first series in the franchise based on the comic book series of the same name written by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, was developed for television by American writer and television producer Eric Kripke. The season was produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with Point Grey Pictures, Original Film, Kripke Enterprises, Kickstart Entertainment and KFL Nightsky Productions.
The show's second season stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Kapon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie and Aya Cash. The story continues the conflict between the two groups with the eponymous Boys, now with the aid of Starlight continuing their efforts to defeat Vought despite being wanted by the government. The conflict is worsened when Butcher learns that Becca is still alive and she is being held captive by Vought with a superpowered son fathered by Homelander. Stormfront, a new superhero with a secret past, joins the Seven and subtly promotes her message throughout the world, with the hopes of convincing an unwitting Homelander to lead Supes to world domination.

Been waiting for this episode. Huge Nazi revealed immediately followed by The Golden Girls theme song. Every episode from this point forward is simply brilliant. All the way up to the Season 3 finale.
I have been waiting for this one. I just couldn't contain my giggles waiting to see how Oak & of course all 3 were gonna react to M.M. & his new "friend" at the hospital with what we will call his very lengthy super strong sausage appendage lol lol!😂. I am so pumped and so excited for ur reaction to this amazing show!!! I promise u it cont to get even crazier but also even better w the story. Thanks guys! Buckle up for a wild end of s2 and wilder s3!!! Ur gonna love it!❤
Fun fact & Oak is in the body building world so kinda wondered if he knows any of the ppl that are body doubles for actors that fight , but the girl w powers w shaved head that escapes & I'm sorry I cant remember her name but she is a very popular and well known body double & has a huge resume of movies & shows, but this is her very first herself as the actor job ever!!! She's such a pro u would never know that scene was her first job ever! I don't have Amazon prime anymore so can't look it up but it was in one of the behind the scenes for this episode. She's so cool and I recall she is dancer & fighter in stuff
just to note because of the "she was german" as a reference to her racism, potentially, I recognised I bristle at the possible connection.
Most Germans were not in fact Nazis. Even in the youth groups, women groups etc. most Germans were not racists... what they were was oppressed and in an environment of doubt. No one knew who was a real Nazi and would tell on them if they didn't follow the insanity. Jewish people were probably not even 50% of what was in the concentration camps. I know these things mostly because my family was quietly resisting whenever possible.
One married into family member was high military pre WW1 when Germany was on the sadly losing good side, let alone WW2, he would have been court marshalled if he tried to leave and even then they threatened him with the lives of his allies for decades and a war Germany tried in multiple ways to stop. Their families too, still he fed military secrets through the family to every Jewish person they knew to get them safely out of occupied lands and divorced his wife and sent her and his children out of the country before the war so they couldn't be used against him. He never saw them again. He was incarcerated at the end of the war by the kangaroo court of the allies. RIP for a good man.
One of my great uncles died to Russian hands while running a red cross mission, saving women, children and the wounded was his last act and his few surviving crewmates told the family of his passing which angered and saddened the aforementioned man who married a woman of the family. My mother and later my brothers and I grew up in Canada dealing with racism against Germans, no one cared if we were at all connected to Nazis or not. Do you know who is also of German descent? 90% of the population of Canada and the USA. look at a map of the descendancy of North America. Just like how the Nazis couldn't go back 2 generations without hitting a Jew, the US can't do the same to any family who has been there for even half of the time since the colonization (aboriginals excluded).
Sorry for the rant but I know the US has a bad educational system in general and Canada has terrible history lessons specially when it comes to the things which the USA and Canada should be ashamed of.

The cool part is that Eric Kripke and the crew decided to hire a Jewish actress for the part precisely for that reason.. being jewish.
An unfortunate part of this show - and shows in general - is that certain individuals gravitate towards characters that showcase traits that they either agree with, or are attracted by.. by hiring a Jewish actress they eliminated that problem: no basement dwelling white supremacist would be online talking Stormfronts praises on reddit and whatnot.. that went out the window immediately.
You see it within the 'The Boys' fandom.. and have since the beginning.. there is a certain kind of people that tend to.. - shall we say, 'excuse' - the horrors of Homelander.. the fact that the writers are directly taking the piss outta them through characters such as Todd.. well, thats kinda lost of them.

I don’t know why, but I love the little joke in this series of “Fresca turns you into a cult member” which somehow BOOSTED Fresca sales lmao
Apparently the joke started because there was a production member who hated Fresca and he saw his other coworkers drinking it so he gave the idea of Fresca=cult and other production crew found it funny and decided to run with it 😂
Which reinforces the old adage that there's no such thing as bad publicity.
And they didn't even have to pay for it - which most companies would have to pay an arm and a leg to get that kind of product placement exposure.
Fresca probably had some loyal customers, let's say it had sales of 1 million per year in the US, loyal drinkers that saw The Boys would just laugh. On the other hand I never heard of Fresca, but if I see it on a shelve I might try it now, and I might like the taste and start drinking it, enough people do it and sales can boost to 1.05 million easily, 5% increase in revenue, ezpz.

My sweet summer child they are still inventing new and exciting gore FX that have literally never been seen by the human eye before.
Rewatching this series is incredible because the Stormfront reveal is literally in our faces the ENTIRE TIME. It wasn't until the season ended that I discovered she is literally named after a neo-n@z! Internet Forum. The point of her character is far more clear in the next episode, but looking back it's truly shocking how upfront they were about Stormfront's true intentions.
So much this! How did we not clock that immediately?!
It's funny watching through a second time, because one of the first things she says, on seeing Homelander, is getting excited over how blue his eyes are. Very, very subtle, and just a fun remark on a first watch. On a second though...

As someone who grew up in NE Kansas, several of our domestic terrorists were frequenters of said forum and was mentioned on the news.
When I first watched this season I knew Stormfront sounded familiar but didn't click till this episode. Ep. 3 though definitely let me know she was at least a racist when she targeted innocent black people.
I was waiting on this one. I was suprised you guys never guessed about Stormfront when she killed all the black people in the appartment building, then enjoyed herself killing Kimiko's brother. The thing about The Boy's is that it has real weight. It's as much about the human condition as it is the consiquences if superbeings where real. With laughter and gore thrown in. Not a silly Marvel comedy. That's how they destroyed Thor's character for example. Enjoy the ride, lots to come.
I love that sentiment! Ur so right & well stated! This show is very good, and so many ignore it based on all gore & graphic etc content, but they miss out on such an amazingly well put together story of human beings. I honestly don't think there is any show ever that touches on so many "issues" and in such a short amt of total time & just puts it all together with perfection!(imo)

Take a look at stormfronts outfit. Her belt has the nazi Eagle. Her earrings may look like lightning bolts, but they look a lot more like the SS insignia. The clues were there. Her first words to homelander were wow your eyes are really fuckin blue up close.
I just wanna take a moment and shout out all the work that gets done to put all these reactions together. You guys put out so much content and I can't imagine how much goes into the editing, etc. THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND! Can't wait to see how the last 2 eps of this season rock you...

Such a fun reaction - EVERYONE liked Stormfront at first, even when we realise she’s racist this reveal still get’s us all.
It was so brilliant because that’s exactly how the N*zi’s operated, coming across like they are standing up for people then ostracising others before unleashing their full blown crazy.

Saving the world was pulling better numbers in Vought's test if I remember well, but he forced the "Saving America" instead because he prefered it.
He is mostly a chauvinistic american elitist asshole instead of "really" racist. I mean, I don't feel he has any issues with black people, for exemple, but arabs/middle-eastern being America's current enemy, so to speak, make him vehemently against them.
He cares about himself first, sure, then other supes that are respectable in his eyes (the actually strong type, Maeve, Stormfront, Noir, even A-Train apparently, before his health issues), THEN being the god and savior of his country that should be adored.

Such a great episode for character AND plot development - I really love Season 2!
I have to say, from now on guys, the show keeps on getting more and more tense, the gore and violence becomes an accessory to the plot of the character's arches, wich thickens in a very heavy way.

Since Oak mentioned war documentaries at the end there: They Shall Not Grow Old is a WWI documentary directed by Peter Jackson where he restores/colorizes old WWI footage. It's an amazing watch if anyone is interested.

Ok, a few facts here:
The "Landkreuzer P-1000 "Ratte" _(the "tank 100 feet long and three stories high, mentioned by the Oak)_ never got built.
Therefore, it could also never sink in the ground.
The next biggest tank, that actually got built _(though only as prototype)_ was the "Maus VIII".
That one was just about 13 feet high, but 188 tons heavy...a little too heavy for any bridge.
And the "80-cm-Kanone (E)" _(the "railway-gun", also known as "Schwerer Gustav" and/or "Dora-Geschuetz")_ didn't explode after just one shot _(48 were fired in total)._
It saw, however only one deployment - in Sevastopol/Crimea in 1942.
And its range also wasn't just 2 miles, but ~25 miles.
But other than that: nice reaction. *:)*

The Boys is wonderfuly written and the humor has a lot of satire, you guys picked up on that brave maeve pride bar commercial being a knock on how bad some real life commercials are.
I look forward to your first views of this show that I love. You guys have so much more reveals and fun to come.
I know I’m late to this, so maybe you realize this at some point, but The Boys comic series was created by Eric Kripke and he’s a phenomenal storyteller! If you’ve ever watched Supernatural, his brainchild, then you know how masterful his plots can be. Something in season one comes back full circle and ties in extremely well to the end seasons, even after 15 years, long after he passed on the reins. Every little detail is important and has meaning. It’s such a joy to re-watch and I love watching it through your eyes!
Yeah, that giant super tank was wild, but they only drew up plans for it in December 1942, then it was canceled in early 1943, a couple months later, before anything was built. They knew how many problems a 1,000 ton tank was going to have. Their idea of "super weapons" was always to make the biggest weapon possible. It's funny, because now in Ukraine, million dollar tanks are being destroyed by $1,000 drones. Turns out that big and expensive is no match for small and cheap. I'm surprised Vought never tried the serum on himself, but it was a big risk. Even crazier he used it on his wife, but he probably wasn't very sentimental.

It's a short series of animated episodes based in the The Boys universe. Every episode is self-contained and written, directed and animated by different people.

No, it's not. It starts "8 years earlier" but then immediately jumps to post-Boys. It definitely has to be watched after The Boys, unfortunately.
We will be completing The Boys before watching Gen V.
GenV takes place right after the season 3 finale. Intro starts 8 years before season 3 (A-Train joins The Seven), but after that it's post season 3.

If someone is into GILFS then they likely wouldn't be into Stormfront, because while she is indeed age-appropriate for GILF-membership, physically and looks-wise she still fits firmly into the MILF category.
After Season 3 you guys have to jump into Gen V because the time line continues in The Boys universe. That should bring you guys closer to Season 4 of The Boys.

Oak made a good point, what will you watch when you guys get caught up with the current 3 seasons of this show? Well, I mentioned it before, but I’ll say it again. There is a spin off show that takes place in this same universe that just so happens to take place between seasons 3 and 4, called Gen V. Might be worth checking out after you guys finish season 3, which without spoilers, is quite the ride as well.
