    Dio was the Voice of metal for a lot of years. You definitely need to hear Man on the Silver Mountain, Stargazer, Lock Up the Wolves, and Dream Evil.

      the Killing The Dragon album gets overlooked and I feel like it's the best solo album, and even though Holy Diver has classics on it, every track is strong as hell on KTD. And I honestly think it has a lot to do with Doug Aldrich's kickass guitar playing because that dude's ability is as legendary as Dio's voice.

      It's not devil horns. It's an Italian thing Dio got from his grandma. You do it to people when they give you a bad look or something. It's supposed to repeal the evil eye away from you. Some sort of old school spiritual traditional thing. If you search "Malocchio" or the "Evil Eye" you'll find exactly what it means.

    HEY VAN: I LOVE DIO,HE WAS A BADASS SINGER AND LYRICIST FROM THE 60’s,70’s & 80’s(yes he was even in a doo wap group when he was very young.The story goes he didn’t know he could sing but learned how to breathe like a singer by playing the piccolo.A flute like instrument).YES THE FASHION OF THE 80’s METAL BANDS WAS SO GOD AWFUL.THE SONG HE IS SINGING WAS A “BLACK SABBATH”SONG.HE BECAME THE LEAD SINGER OF “BLACK SABBATH” AFTER OZZY OZBOURNE WAS FIRED FROM SABBATH IN THE LATE 70’s.RONNIE JAMES DIO MADE TWO FULL ALBUMS AND A LIVE ALBUM WITH “BLACK SABBATH” IN 1980-1983 AND THEN LEFT FOR A SOLO CAREER UNDER HIS NAME “DIO”. I REALLY ENJOYED THE FIRST COUPLE OF ALBUMS.”HOLY DIVER” AND “THE LAST IN LINE “. I LOST INTEREST AFTER THAT.THEY WERE NOT BAD ALBUMS AT ALL. I JUST STARTED LISTENING TO OTHER STUFF.HE REUNITED WITH “BLACK SABBATH” WITH THE ALBUM “DEHUMANIZER”.THE SONG CALLED “I” KICKS ASS,IT’S JUST SO DOPE. HE ALSO WENT ON A TOUR WITH “SABBATH” AND DID ANOTHER LIVE ALBUM AND THEN ANOTHER STUDIO ALBUM.THEN RONNIE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER. I FORGET WHAT KIND AT FIRST,BUT IT SPREAD TO HIS LUNGS AND THROAT WHICH AFFECTED HIS SINGING.HE SOON PASSED AWAY.I THINK PERSONALLY HIS BEST WORK WAS THE TWO STUDIO ALBUMS WITH “BLACK SABBATH”-“HEAVEN AND HELL”&”THE MOB RULES” THEN HIS SOLO ALBUMS “HOLY DIVER”AND “THE LAST IN LINE”.THOSE WERE GREAT CLASSIC EARLY HEAVY METAL ALBUMS.HIS CAREER BEFORE “BLACK SABBATH”.HE WAS IN A BAND CALLED “RAINBOW”.RITCHIE BLACKMORE WHO WAS THE LEAD GUITARIST FOR “DEEP PURPLE” STARTED “RAINBOW”WITH DIO SINGING. I LIKED A COUPLE OF SONGS FROM THEM MAYBE CHECK OUT “THE MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN”.THATS A GREAT SONG.OR CHECK OUT THE SONG “INVISIBLE”FROM DIO’s”HOLY DIVER”ALBUM OR THE TITLE SONG “THE LAST IN LINE “FROM THE ALBUM “THE LAST IN LINE”.FROM “BLACK SABBATH THE MOB RULES”ALBUM CHECK OUT”COUNTRY GIRL”,”THE SIGN OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS”(ITS NOT ABOUT THE KKK ,ITS ACTUALLY A STAR CONSTELLATION IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE OF THE PLANET.THE SONGS “SLIPPING AWAY”,”HEAVEN AND HELL”,”DIE YOUNG”,”NEON KNIGHTS”AND FINALLY “LONELY IS THE WORD”ONE OF MY FAVORITES.ANY WAY I DID NOT MEAN TO GO ON SO LONG. I ENJOY WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

    • @serp9425
      @serp9425 4 года назад +1

      Dehumanizer is totally underrated. Maybe the most dark and true Sabbath work ever, and still sounds amazing. His Rainbow days were very badass, remember Rising - is classic heavy metal work.
      So it's obvious that Dio had 3 classic albums in 3 different bands: Rainbow - Rising, Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell, DIO -Holy Diver. But other works are still treasure!

    With Covid keeping artists isolated and unable to express their musical creativity, some great artists decided to cover Rush's "Anthem" in celebration of the late Neil Peart, one of the Top 3 greatest drummers to ever live (right there with Led Zeppelin's John Bonham and The Who's Keith Moon). On this cover is Tool's Danny Carey (another GOAT), Les Claypool of Primus, and Bill Kelliher of Mastodon. You also need to check out Tool and Mastodon if you love drummers...
    Search RUclips for:
    Coheed and Cambria + Mastodon + Primus + Tool + Mutoid Man Cover RUSH’s “Anthem”
    You won't be disappointed. Much love to LFR from Iowa (home of Slipknot).

    According to a lot of people who knew Dio personally. They say he was basically the Mr Rogers of Metal lol He was one of the most down to earth, humble and nicest humans to ever grace the Earth.
