  • Has your kid ever thrown a tantrum when it's time to leave a fun place?
    In this video I share:
    - why your kid is having a disproportionately negative reaction to transitioning from one place to another or one activity to another. (It might be autism...)
    - what you can learn from your own tendencies about not wanting to transition and how this is also present in your kid (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree)
    - tips for managing those tricky goodbyes and transitions that work (for the kiddos and also for you)

the if i cannot play now, so it means i will never play again is called overgeneralization. Overgeneralization is seeing one data point and extrapolating that to eternity which I think describes this

OOh thanks. I'll research that term more. I think the ADHD brain is prone towards it so I'm curious to understand this better.

Thank you from another neurodivergent mom to two autistic boys. Transitioning time from playground to the car causes so much tantrums outside. I honestly didn’t know if I was doing something wrong because people stare at us because we are so loud 😅😅 I don’t feel so alone. Thank you the tips, I will struggle a lot less when taking us out on adventure time we call it our house.

Thanks for your comment! I'm eager to hear more stories about transitions with autistic kids. I know more and more situations will arise when I'll need some new tips and advice.
