I have a strange sense of humor that many people don't get. My wife and I took our dog to the vet because she was not eating much. She is incredibly lovable and friendly. The veterinary assistant came to us and said that she would have to go under anesthesia and have a tooth pulled and it would be $325. I looked he in the eye and said "just put her down". The poor girl almost broke into tears right on the spot. My wife had to tell her that I was only kidding

Just saw your video of Tulip. She touched my heart. So happy she has a family to love her. I am retired and live in Lake Isabella, California. I watch your videos for a dog in need of a home. Love your show. Thank yiy for all tou do.
My heart broke when I saw this! Tulip is absolutely precious, and I immediately went to the comments to see if anyone had applied, while my mind raced; I’m going on a lengthy trip abroad, have only once had a dog for a short period of time many years ago, am in a complicated living situation, but how could we abandon her?!! Thankfully, people are applying! How could they not? The Dodo crowd is a good one, and Rocky is a lovely human being!🥰
I agree! We have a dog who gets jealous of his “person” (my husband) paying attention to the grandkids! He just whines and sticks like glue so nothing dangerous, just annoying. But I’m here trying to figure out if Tulip could live with us, we too are about to hit the road & travel North America…so I’m glad people are wanting Tulip who most likely in better positions than us. Enjoy your travels!
Thankfully the vet refused to put this precious girl down! 💗 Tulip is beautiful and deserves an incredible forever home. 💞 I would adopt her in a heartbeat if I lived close to you!
Sometimes it could be they feel the animal is suffering and doesn’t want them to be in pain and miserable for the sake of the owners selfishness or it might be that to help this precious pup would over burden the person financially and they thought it was their only option. Remember animals are not human and when animals are suffering and in pain, it’s our own selfishness that keeps them alive and it’s actually cruel for the animals. Yes it’s heartbreaking and it takes a long time to get over. But I would rather be sad for a time then keep my pet alive who is miserable, suffering and in constant pain. Luckily for this pup it’s rehabilitating and needs a home where someone has the means and time to care for it.
As a fellow rescuer, I had tears in my eyes watching this!! I also think she may already have her home with you!! Watching Tulip with your daughter was just great!! However, if you do find her a home & need help with transport, I would be happy to help!! This offer applies for future babies too!!
I hope she finds a GREAT home! I was a Vet Tech and some people wanted to put their Boxer puppy down, instead of paying for a broken leg. I'm glad they didn't want to stay during the euthanasia, because one of the other Vet Techs decided they wanted him. So the Vets fixed him up and he was such a HAPPY dog, his whole butt wiggled when he waved his tail. It was cool to see him grow up because shed bring him in when she worked.
Do vets offer owners the option to surrender their pet? Veterinary care these days is more expensive than human healthcare and many people can't afford to pay it.
@@V.E.R.O. and veterinarians can't afford to do pro bono surgeries on everybody that can't afford it or to take up space in their Clinic while waiting to rehome all those animals. I really don't think people understand just how often somebody can't afford treatment, even when that treatment is "only" a few hundred dollars. *also, it's absolutely _not_ more expensive than human healthcare. Yes, it can be very expensive but it's not _more_ expensive than human healthcare.
@@V.E.R.O. If you can't afford it, don't have pets. Same thing with children. Would you surrender your child because you couldn't afford treatment??? When you get a pet, you make a commitment to that animal. They aren't just "disposable".
Beautiful name for such a sweet muppie. Rocky you are my favorite guy I tell everyone about. I brag on what you do. From one rescuer to another. Much LOVE AND LIGHT to you and yours which includes the animals. 😊😊😊😊😊❤🙃🥰🙃🥰🙃🥰😇😇🤗🤗
Years ago when I worked for a vet and when someone would come in with a young dog or cat to put down, Doc would make a motion with his head that meant to take the animal to the back room and we would find it a home! I took one of those rescues home (kitten) and so did my mother (dog)! 🐈⬛🐕
Why would anyone wantnto put this beautiful girl down!? What a beautiful dog!❤ I had to put my pug down 5 months ago & am still grieving over him.. I haven't looked into it but I'm praying that she found her forever loving home. I would take her in a heartbeat ❤😊
It breaks my heart. I would love to adopt her, but I live in South Africa. I lost my bulldog girlie just over two years ago and still talk to her whenever I walk passed her ashes, stored in a beautiful wooden box in our living room, surrounded by her favourite plush toys. So so sad. Tulip is gorgeous and deserves the best loving forever home.
When I moved in with my friend he moved my items when we moved into a new house when I asked him not to and he lost my dogs ashes. I will never know peace
8 doggos deep and it's still beyond me how people can just throw love and devotion away. She deserves everything and more. Rescue and vet med is very difficult on the soul and mental health. Finding a dog that's good with dogs and kids is a perfect 💎 gem.
I absolutely love the work you (&your wife) do - the generosity of saying you would transport precious Tulip to any place in North America did not surprise me, but it made me weepy. Why can't people just be like this all the time, with animals & each other?? It could be such a wonderful world - we really do not deserve dogs, but they are here to make us better people. So much love and peace to you 👵🙏💞
I’ve been rescuing dogs for over 20 yrs in Mexico, the hardest thing is to find them good loving homes. Please people, adopt with your heart, they all deserve to have a family. If we don’t find them new homes, then we can’t keep rescuing more lives. Hope Tulip has found a forever home.
If everyone adopted instead of bought animals it would help SO much. As if one life is worth more just because it comes with a price tag. It really bothers me. Thank you for everything you do 🙏💕👏
@@supernova11711 💯 I get so irritated with these RUclipsrs bragging about their purebred dogs and cats. I rescue cats and there are so many amazing, loving animals that need homes we don't need to breed anything!
Sometimes there is a reason. I had two beautiful dogs where I reside in a foreign country. I had terrible experience and had to leave my dogs. I loved my dogs so much I said to the person. I prefer for them to be put to sleep than live in this place without me. In this country dogs and cats lives has no value. I am free now and in a safe place. I still worry whether my dogs are safe in heaven or living in hell. Sometimes I cry for my best friends because I am Alive and homeless now because of the experience. I still don't know about my dogs. They never wanted for anything. I shopped for the first then for me. They saw the vet more than I did. Jealousy is what cause the attack on me. I'm not going to go into anymore details. It's painful enough.
I'm sure your experience was awful. But the comment, "some people don't deserve dogs" obviously was not directed toward you. The owner of this pup wanted her euthanized in America. Not rehomed... euthanized. @@TrenitaHodge-q9w
I bet the original owner was unable to afford vet care for Tulip. But euthanasia is NOT the answer, especially if what the animal needs can fix the problem. Thank you for taking her. She's adorable! I hope you find a great home for her.❤️🙏
When euthanasia is cheaper than owner surrender fees, I get it. I went through a situation where my cat needed a vet. I just couldn't afford it. I could when I adopted him years before, but life happens. I looked around for help and even tried to surrender him to the place I adopted him from. The surrender fees in some places were as high as $400. Eventually, I was put onto a foundation that helped us out, but by then, it was too late. It turned out to be deeply rooted and painful cancer. The humane thing to do was to put him down. All of this after months of trying to find a solution. I was avoiding our local animal shelter because they are a kill shelter and have high kill rates - they aren't well funded from what I understand. Ironically, they were the ones who put me onto the foundation that helped us out. If I hadn't been trying so hard to save his life, he might still be alive. 😢 We still miss him so much.
@@sandrazollman550 "when there are millons of humans in need of medical care it is shameful to spend so much on animals" Theres nothing shameful about saving an animal, especially when its a part of your family. It is however shameful when a person doesnt care if an animal lives or dies. And it's shameful that vets charge ridiculous amounts of money. They take advantage of the situation knowing people will pay anything to save their pets. As for the lack of care of patients, i dont see what that has got to do with anything here. Its not like that would change if animals didnt get the care they need. One has nothing to do with the other.
We have no idea why she wanted to put him down. The vet mentioned rehab so something wasn’t right with the dog. This story is out of context - but it doesn’t half make him look good doesn’t it?!

I hope that tulip ends up with the most kindest loving person. She is lovely and doesn't deserve to just be put down and thrown away in the garbage so to speak. I'm sure she will find a loving home.
Well said!!! 🖒 I pray she has found that perfect home!!! 🐕🏡💖 She deserves a home where she is truly loved!!!! 💕 Thank you for not killing this angel!!! 😊💕 Unbelievable her scumbag owner wanted her killed!!! 😠😠
No, they are not. I just had to put my hospice Foster down 5 this morning. When we got the call to go get him he was found tied to a chain to a dog house for 3 months out in the middle of a field turn Yadkinville, North Carolina. He got to experience love for 3 months before this morning. His name was Jerry; he was a good Beagle.
Then how about helping with the financial part of her therapies? Specialists for jaw related health issues are very expensive. So this way you could make a difference for Tulip.

I had a vet that wanted to do that to my 1 year old siamese....i didnt let it happen. That was 10 years ago. My dog came from the streets abused neglected when she was young. In February i had to let her go but she lived to 20 years old and 9 days..so the vet is right ...tulip has so much life, love ,and adventures yet to have. Bc my cat is still going 10 years later and my dog got 20... my dog became my anti-seizure dog. They all have a bigger plan. We just got to give them the chance. I can feel what a happy pup she is! Thank you for for not giving up on Tulip...

You probably shouldn’t try to hunt the prior owners down. Why on earth would you throw the animal back into a place where they weren’t wanted in the first place ???
Shes a beautiful dog! She doesn't deserve to be put down. I m so very grateful for your caring heart!! Bless you for looking out for her. ❤ What in the world makes some owners think their animals are disposable? 😢
It’s likely they couldn’t afford the treatments she needed because they’re expensive as hell and thought that putting her down would be the best option for her so she didn’t have to keep suffering.
Please don't call that lady Tulip's mom. She doesn't deserve that title 😡. She could have just given her up to some shelter and not gone to a vet and ask for the poor dear to be put down. Its just Tulip's luck that she came to this vet ❤❤❤❤. Sending blessings and prayers to this wonderful vet and to Rocky Kanaka !
I don't know too many vets that would've put that lil smush down. They'd have exhausted all resources and alternatives before ever doing something so senseless as ending the life of a young otherwise pretty healthy dog.
Guys, I wish I could but after checking into it there's know way that we'd be able to afford her surgeries! We talked about it, we prayed about it and there is just know way that we'd be able to come up with the kind of money she would need for both of the operations she needs! I feel so horrible and wish I financially secure enough to pay for the care she needs. Although we have more than enough love to give her for 10 lifetimes unfortunately we don't have the money. Somebody please adopt this pretty girl, she deserves so much better than to be thrown out like trash. She needs a loving, kind forever home.

She doesn't deserve a trash family like the one wanting to put her down you mean
Well saud❤
Thanks for saving her, Rocky. You're an angel for saving animals ❤ God bless you

she looks adorable. thank you for fighting to find a home for her. the pet community needs people like you.
Just saw your video of Tulip. She touched my heart. So happy she has a family to love her. I am retired and live in Lake Isabella, California. I watch your videos for a dog in need of a home. Love your show. Thank yiy for all tou do.
She looks like a real sweetheart. She's not too big and she certainly doesn't appear to be disruptive, I feel bad for her.
She got adopted 6 months ago
So so so adorable. I want this gorgeous pupper. ❤❤❤
I pray that she finds a special forever home.
What a brave person you are.
Me too! I don’t understand why these awful people want to euthanize her!? Happy the vet. maintained her ethics & said NO! 🙌
Thank you for rehab for Tulip. She’s so sweet! I sure hope she goes to a great fur baby family and has a wonderful life!❤
My heart broke when I saw this!
The Dodo crowd is a good one, and Rocky is a lovely human being!🥰
Keep letting us know how the puppy is doing
She seems to be a sweetheart, easy to love her.😊❤
Thankfully the vet refused to put this precious girl down! 💗 Tulip is beautiful and deserves an incredible forever home. 💞 I would adopt her in a heartbeat if I lived close to you!
Did you even watch or listen to the whole video...she has been adopted, but he said he would pay to transport Tuip anywhere in North America
I hope she gets a perfect home for her lifetime. The comments here might be restoring my faith in humanity.
Nah, that’s just temporary! The US has been heading in the wrong direction since 2016! Now restoring faith in Japan is something to behold!
Impossible to believe that nobody would adopt this beautiful little lady, please keep us updated.
Sadly : Sometimes its a question of money..not everybody can afford expensive vet bills :(
Sometimes it could be they feel the animal is suffering and doesn’t want them to be in pain and miserable for the sake of the owners selfishness or it might be that to help this precious pup would over burden the person financially and they thought it was their only option.
Did Tulip get a furever home?
When I saw this if I wasn't 70. Glad she found home.😊
As a fellow rescuer, I had tears in my eyes watching this!!
I also think she may already have her home with you!! Watching Tulip with your daughter was just great!!

She is adorable. If I was able to financially Rocky, I would adopt her
I would adopt her in a heartbeat! She would become my assistance dog! I have had MS for 25 years.
Years ago when I worked for a vet and when someone would come in with a young dog or cat to put down, Doc would make a motion with his head that meant to take the animal to the back room and we would find it a home! I took one of those rescues home (kitten) and so did my mother (dog)! 🐈⬛🐕
God bless you your mom and that Angel of a Doctor 🙏
That vet is an earth angel. So are you and your mom!

@@supernova11711 💯 I get so irritated with these RUclipsrs bragging about their purebred dogs and cats. I rescue cats and there are so many amazing, loving animals that need homes we don't need to breed anything!
Sweet baby, thanks for saving this sweet baby girl, how could you not want her?? Some people just don't deserve a dog!
@@sandrazollman550 "when there are millons of humans in need of medical care it is shameful to spend so much on animals"
Theres nothing shameful about saving an animal, especially when its a part of your family.

Hateful humans vs caring humans. I feel sure Tulip will win this round.
We have no idea why she wanted to put him down. The vet mentioned rehab so something wasn’t right with the dog. This story is out of context - but it doesn’t half make him look good doesn’t it?!

How could anyone not want this angel of a puppy? She is adorable and looks like she wouldn't hurt a fly! 😍
Hope she's adopted. A few people in my area just turn dogs out to fend for themselves. They move away or maybe grow tired of the responsibility. I live in a rural environment and it breaks my heart. My sister who lives nearby tries to find their owners
Has she been adopted yet?
I cannot fathom how people just put dogs out like that. They are truly evil.
Don’t contact people if they have abandoned their dogs. They don’t deserve to have a dog. If the dogs aren’t lost they need a new and loving home.
I wrote an article in the Houston Press. Yes, shallow people give up animals on a whim." The Inconvenient Pet."

Its just Tulip's luck that she came to this vet ❤❤❤❤. Sending blessings and prayers to this wonderful vet and to Rocky Kanaka !
We live in an evil world
You're right. That person is not a pet mom.
I don't know too many vets that would've put that lil smush down. They'd have exhausted all resources and alternatives before ever doing something so senseless as ending the life of a young otherwise pretty healthy dog.
Oh my Lord! I want her!
Phil, Are you getting her?
Please get her!
God bless guys
