    This woman is my HERO. I have been saying the exact same thing she just said. My disability does not make me disabled. ODSP does. With the penalties and cruel rules they have in place. My quality of life is not poor because I'm sick. It's because I live in a world where nobody cares about disabled people.
    I'm voting NDP from now on.
    Ex Liberal.

    Yes!! She knows the truth here.
    I am very concerned.....
    Why is only ONE member of parliament standing up for this???
    Just one member! One goodly member.
    I am very concerned about the morality of "all the other members of parlement" . And there are a lot of them. Who are none standing with this good woman (besides the NDP)??
    It is true. The Conservatives never care, if disabled people die in the streets. That is why I never vote Conservative.
    I vote Liberal.
    But.... this is also true, that the Loberals barely do ODSP any good also!
    I will stop coting for the Liberals. I will now start voting NDP. Because they seem to care more.

    here in Manitoba me, and most of my buddies, what are on provincial assistance programs most of us are all single not because we cannot find a spouse. It’s because of the programs. We are terrified, losing our income now we suffer even higher depression and mental problems because of it.🙏🙏🙏🙏

    Dental benefits are so poor on ODSP. It's tough finding a dentist willing to take on ODSP patients because the payment rates are so poor. The only dentist who'll take me is almost two and a half hours away from where I live because of the fact I need full sedation due to severe anxiety issues and the dentists in my area who offer this service won't take ODSP because they get so little money from it. So I understand both sides of this issue.

    A parent on ODSP can rent to an adult child on ODSP with no financial penalty. If the reverse occurs (an adult child in ODSP rents to a parent on ODSP), ODSP takes 60% of the rent! That doesn’t help the homeless situation.

    disability social assistance in Manitoba you can only have $4000 in your bank account. You can only drive a old car you basically cannot own a house. This garbage needs to be removed. Bring my bank statements to the government provincial government as a disability person. that’s bullshit and also, where is the benefit, bill C 22 🤔🙏

    When is Canada Disability Benefit coming? June 2024 is the deadline

    • @TP-yw6hj
      @TP-yw6hj 11 месяцев назад

      CERB took 2 weeks !!!! The CDB has been talked about...yes talked about for years. It doesn't matter that it passed legislation. Not one disabled person has gotten a single penny yet ! If they were serious about this benefit it would have been done already. Disabled people are dying homeless on our streets. Disabled people don't even have enough money for food never mind a suitable place to live. Canada gives huges amounts of funding $$ to refugee's and asylum seekers, gives huge amount of foreign aid $$ to other countries to spend it on whatever they want to. What about Disabled Canadians ? Why so much hate and discrimination towards disabled people ? Is MAID supposed to kill them all off before they can get enough money to live, to survive ? They are the most vulnerable and they actually live in Canada and most of them have lived in Canada their entire lives. They have invested their lives in Canada.

      if it becomes $2800 why should people work anymore? In that case, everyone with 40,000 dollar annual salary who work 40hrs per week will quit their job. Plus new immigrants who come to canada and have not contributed anything to this economy are getting ODSP from day 1

      @@admin6228 Getting odsp is not easy to get, you have to proved you are sufficiently disabled to be approved.

    • @Mystress1980
      @Mystress1980 11 месяцев назад

      @@admin6228 Tell me you know nothing about ODSP without saying "I know nothing about ODSP". About 80% of applicants get rejected on their first application. About 60% get rejected again on appeal. They make it so you have to go to legal aid and actually take them to a tribunal. They count on a certain percentage giving up, because it can take months to years to get through it all, and in the meantime, they're still disabled and CAN'T WORK, so they're penniless and sometimes homeless by the time they get their day in front of a judge. I'm talking double amputees, MS patients in wheelchairs - DENIED. It's not like a driver's licence. Your disability status and coverage doesn't transfer from another country. And OW doesn't just let people stay on it. This isn't the 90s. They expect you to be actively looking for work. They send you lists of potential jobs, and check in to make sure you're actually applying. They give money for travel expenses to get to the interviews, to eliminate that as an excuse. No one is just sitting at home collecting a fat check. Even 2800/month is now considered the minimum to survive in the current economy. SURVIVE. People making 40K/year should be making more. Anyone working full time should not be just barely scraping by, and sometimes not even that. Stop crapping on the people below you and start look up to the executives taking home million dollar bonuses instead of paying employees fairly. Minimum wage was supposed to be the minimum one should make to have a decent life. It hasn't kept up with inflation for decades, and you can thank the government for that. They were the ones supposed to be watching out for the little guy and keep companies accountable. They sure as hell aren't going to do it themselves. They won't do anything they don't have to. Your anger is misplaced. Maybe try redirecting it to the right spot and things might actually change.

    I'm disabled myself and I live in the US and I can say I have tried everything to reach out to my state representative and my Congress person and it didn't matter who was was in the placement as a congressperson or the state representative no one care to listen and it's the elephant in the room they don't give a rip about anyone who's disabled an SSI or SSDI the marriage cap to the wage cap to the little bit of scrap you get from government assistance that you can't even live off of it's disgusting it's low life of our government it's no more than a attack on disabled people and it's like the Eugenics program in the 21st century seeking to eradicate disabled people in any way shape or form and not giving the dignity and respect that they deserve through no fault of their own that they are disabled and yet they're being treated like crap from this government and it's shameful. It's amazes me how Canada and the US are like let's get equal rights to get married no that is not true there's still no equal right to marry under the marriage cap the gross earnings caps for disabled people whether they're on self-employed or part-time working because it can't work a full-time job there's no equality there and then if you dare to marry there goes your Social Security government little scrap of assistance that may have worked in the 1950s but does not compute to the 21st century cost of living and then they tell you you're going to have to mooch off of your spouse's income because we're going to cut everything from you including your medical coverage that you need to stay on to be alive and so they literally throw that you then into poverty if you dare choose to get married so you can then get married if you wanted to but it's no problem with lgbtq gets married because they don't get those penalties anymore if they do they don't get any government rejection if they marry they get everything they want from the government but if you're disabled person and you're a single disabled person in general you're not going to get the same equal rights as the lgbtq plus regular American and it's no different in the US as it is in canada. And they tell you if you go ahead and get married you're going to lose your benefits that is a scrap pay above being in homeless shelter and that you're going to have to have your spells basically come up with the amount of money you're about to lose so that y'all can stay afloat and then you got to find a job and let's say no one wants to hire you because you have a service animal or no one wants to hire you because you have medical conditions that they don't want to work around so you literally are throwing back into the system you're not able to marry you're going to have to get a divorce it is atrocious how they treat disabled people in the US as well as Canada the system is no different and it has not changed since the 1930s and 50s with their call Eugenics program is a way to stigmatize to denounce disabled equal rights to Mary into denounce anybody who's disabled marry somebody from another country like us to Canada or Canada to us that if you dare to do that you're going to lose everything you have to stand to lose everything going to Poverty so this is the way to prevent disabled people from having equal rights that everybody else has gotten now and if you do get married you know the chances of getting divorce is highly like 90% in statistics because you lose what little you've got and it's not through your phone that you're disabled it's usually outside sources thanks for our government thanks to to our medical companies and Healthcare System that you're disabled or and it's really sad it's really disheartening and shameful that we have to still fight for our rights that lgbtq plus has been given and we are denied the right to adopt as well we are literally stigmatized it is a form of sterilization program in a way of how they treat us with a little bit they give us a scrap to survive off of and then threaten us if we dare to want to get married or get off of Social Security you can't even save anything in the bank because they're going to cap you off of it you get your tax income returns yeah they're going to try to find a way to cap you on that too they'll threaten you are going to lose your disability and your medical and coverage if you get a certain amount of money back for tax returns that is how they treat disabled people both in the US and in canada.
