How fortunate then, that Russia has already depleted itself economically and militarily by escalating the war in Ukraine. How fortunate for Europe that at least dependancy on Russian gas has been reduced. Now Europe must reform and build up it's own defense force, after being dependant on the US for over eight decades.
EU countries already have more active and more reserves than Rus, 8 times bigger econony, 300m more population, better tech, control of most access to atlantic. There hasnt been a dependence on u.s. since early 2000s. And now a new ally in Ukraine.
This cold shower would remind Europe on the necessity of massive conventional and nuclear armament and unification of the European military structure. Do we really need this shock, or can European be smart enough to understand it now?
And why do we need this? We have ok military complexes already, and why should we spend massive amounts of money on useless shit like tanks when you can spend it all for us instead? Even if all of Europe drops to 0% gdp for military, the USA can't and won't abandon us so it'll be forced to pay anyway even if situation gets hot. For all I care, the usa exploits our moment of weakness and grows while we should be "smart enough" to waste money. Aren't you the military country?

The description of the vid is really weird… Why would you specifically say “Would the United States be militarily strong enough to help defend Western Europe if it is fighting China in the Pacific?”? What about Eastern Europe, or these countries are simply irrelevant even tho half of Eastern Europe is also part of NATO?
Taiwan is not a country, Taiwan is an island, a region that belongs to China, If we condemn Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, countries that support Taiwan's independence must also be condemned if China does not agree to the island's independence.

It's the west that your analysts/shills should be thinking about. The US has the largest military in the world, 1) it costs a lot of $$$ to keep it running and up-to-date 2) $$$ that they don't really have 3) it holds an era defining edge in low-observable technology 4) an edge they don't expect to hold onto for long 5) all western nations are facing severe aging populations, resulting in: 6) increased welfare spending 7) unfunded liabilities, eg. pensions 8) massive recruitment problems for their militaries 9) balance of power tilting decisively to the east and global south 10) over-stimulus after the '08 GFC and '20 pandemic 11) persistent inflation ie. currency devaluation 12) need more reasons? 😱
Actually, US has stable population due to immigration, while Russia and China have apocalyptic level of aging in their population. China also has much more welfare spending than the US, so China will feel the heat of aging people much more. The US has the strongest army, and after 2027 they will dominate the pacific again (China has a very short window to try and attack taiwan), and India is probably going to overtake China as number 2 global power, and maybe even flood China with their own people and take it over, if a war erupts.
@@MihaiRUdeRO Well, technically they _did_ conquer the kingdoms of Tibet and Uighur under the leadership of the barbarians of Manchuria.
