For anyone having trepidation about tearing down their Pro, do it. My fan was loud, too loud, so that's why I tore mine down. Boy, I'm glad I did... See, I cleaned out the fan regularly with an air can. So you may think it's good under the hood. I about shit when I seen that heatsink lol There was a clump of dust on there that was so big it lookedlike a small mouse. It was filthy. Not to mention the thermal paste was worn very thin, VERY thin. Totally worth a teardown! Good video for the 'how to' aspect. I still have 2 4mm screws left but i think it'll live. It did survive living with a dust mouse... I dont think I can emphasize how dangerous dust clumps are to your gear. My old pc sat for a year unused and I started playing again so I wanted to clean it out. Grabbed my air can and started blowing excess dust out of there, but when I plugged it in and turned it on... Fire broke out inside my 970 GTX... Fried my graphics card. So yeah, dust is no joke! Clean that shit out! Kudos on the video, Sir!
thanks for this i changed the fan in my 7000 ps4 pro for a 7200 pro model + new thermal paste, the difference in the noise level was incredible it now longer sounds like a jet and is very quiet.
@@mightyraju69420 there's fans that are just as good but much quieter, they realized the noise got insane with age and changed it for the ps5 so hopefully the same thing doesn't happen to it in 3 years.
I would even say more.. when you open until you see the thermal paste, always replace it. Also for a good result of silence think about replacing the pads (looking for Gryzzli pad 120/120/1mm) There are videos on youtube also for the pads. The most important thing is the thermal paste and the pads. If they are changed it will no longer blow. For the fans the delta "whistle" and the Nidec "winds like a pc" (not irritable) voila 😁

Why would sony ever think it's a good idea to add a fan that can reach 100 decibels
Maybe because if u played good games ur ps might overheat

just deep cleaned, replaced thermal paste and put in a new fan thanks to this video! Thank you!
Worked like a charm Thanks.
In my case also the PSU and heat sink were full of dust restricting air flow and needed cleaning .
How can i get these screwdriver and thermal paste form pls tell😢
Really appreciate this video, supper helpful in getting my PS4 cleaned out and fan replaced, easy to follow!
Is it necessary to replace the thermal paste to, even if I just want to replace the fan? Dont want to risk damaging it when going though with this.
Hello, it's really better ... And its not difficult !! Just remove old one and apply one little bit new and voila 👌

My Playstation tried committing suicide by destroying the fan 😂. This is going to be really useful when the parts get here
PS4 is the loudest console in game history. My PS4 sounds like a tractor now =(
