    I know I'm a little early for Valentine's Day BUT I could not resist sharing this recipe with you! I am still shocked that these simple ingredients (bananas, almond butter, almond flour, an egg and cacao powder) can actually make such a delicious brownie! I hope you enjoy them :) XO Dani

      Can coconut flour be a substitute for almond flour? Thank you 🥰

      @@aubreydizon3944 nope, it is so much more absorbent, it would throw the texture off. You could probably use an equivalent amount of a grain-based GF flour blend tho.

    I made a box of Betty Crocker brownie mix last week and I was shocked at the sugar and carbs in it. A prepared 550g box of their brownie mix has a total of 448g of carbohydrates and majority of it was sugar! Eating a small piece made me sick overnight because of the sugar rush. This looks like I already have all the ingredients at home and recipes like this REALLY do help with my cravings and control my blood sugar spike. Thanks Dani!!

    Backed orange sweet potatoes is a good replacement for bananas, if you don't like banana flavour. I think backed pumpkin or butternut squash will work too. If you want is even sweeter, use tiger nut flour.

    My bananas were pretty ripe, but the brownies were not so sweet. I was disappointed at first, and my boyfriend did not enjoy it because it's a very dark chocolate flavored brownie. It definitely grew on me, and I really enjoy how decadent and rich it is! The texture is impressive, but next time, i would blend the store bought almond flour so it's more fine. Thank you for the recipe 😊

    Made this with a chia egg and peanut butter (that's what i had) and it was delicious! I had to add some almond milk because it was too dry (maybe because I didn't use an egg) and I added a scoop of protein powder (vanilla flavoured) and it tasted amazing! also did a peanut butter free version - added some butter, oil and almond milk as well. This also turned out nice! I added some honey to sweeten it up a bit since other people were going to eat it too. Amazing recipes as always!

    Made it today, it's Dani'licious ;-))
    To save some calories: substitute the almond butter with apple sauce. I took the required amount of banana, no apple sauce instead of bananas, but apple sauce instead of almond butter. Added .5 tsp of cinnamon and a little vanilla.
    Hmm-hmm-HMMM!! (This is what Dani always does to underline the yummyness :-)
    Edit: let the batter sit for about 10 minutes, each brand of flour is different and needs different amount of liquid. I ended up adding few tbspns of oat milk.

    • @mindymiller3270
      @mindymiller3270 3 года назад

      @@matriarchsmatter I have or had Hashimoto's and put it in remission from following a Paleo diet BUT choosing only the foods allowed for my blood type, which is O. Bananas are listed as medicine for me. I was very hesitant because previously I had candida overgrowth and bananas really bothered me, but I noticed when I bake them they don't and as I began to heal I can now eat them raw with no problem. Apples are just neutral food and although they have nutrients to offer me, they don't actually help heal my intestinal lining, strengthen immunity and rebuild my microbiome. I eat the foods listed that I need to heal. Avoid the ones that are listed as poison, because they literally will tear your insides up and screw up your gut flora leading to systemic inflammation and disease like thyroid problems. Some foods suppress the thyroid, but if they list those as one of the medicines for your blood type, they won't for YOU. Like with this recipe, I switched out the cocoa for carob (tastes like malted milk chocolate), because that is listed as medicine for me. I swap out the almond flour for walnut flour (medicine) and I add walnuts and carob chips. Making these brownies a powerhouse of healing for me. Date sugar also helps me heal. If I veer off track at all and eat any of the things that is listed in that book as poison, . like coconut, wheat, avocado....I will literally feel my thyroid swell up a bit. Find out your blood type! Hope you feel better!

    This looks like a delicious and amazing recipe, but I am really confused about the calories! In the description it says 1 brownie has 335 calories and I’m honestly confused as to how banana, almonds and cocoa got that amount? Can anyone explain this to me, sorry I’m a bit clueless :)
    Edit: I did the calculation for calories per brownie (with peanut butter instead of almond butter, and without chocolate chips) and got 270 calories if cut into 9 pieces, 150 calories if cut into 16 pieces and 200 calories if cut into 12 pieces...
