Credit where it's due I don't love either Kurayashiki or Azashiro but I find the contrast between them fascinating, their personalities aren't exact opposite but significantly opposed to each other. As for their abilities they're both ridiculously strong but they have exploitable weaknesses.
I like how Kuruyashiki character design looks like a person that dont care about his subordinate life or other people life. Turn out he is a kind hearted person and do care about his man and friends.
This dudes bankai led me to think of a short about shinigami having to pay for collateral damage due to their blades. From fixing floors to deicing streets. Hell rukia once did it infront of a train. You ever notice that hollows (excluding grimjow and gaming) unless people are hiding around cars and stuff don't damage the surroundings very much but rukia and ever shinigami will fuck up a surrounding if they need too.
It's interesting that almost all Kenpachi's Zanpakuto ability revealed so far has power to generate living creature: 1. Unohana's Minazuki 2. Kuruyashiki's shikai 3. Zaraki's Yachiru (with Yachiru's shikai)
except yachiru was never supposed to manifest the way she did. so its not really a power of his shikai as a matter of fact it the opposite because she disappears after the first use of his true shikai

She has a Shikai that can simply erase everything because it's nature is to outdo everything and everyone, but her weakness keeps her from realizing her Zanpakotou's power. She simply had that one opportunity to use her zanpakuto when they fought Lily during the quincy invasion. It's just a regular blunt weapon if nothing else.
I like these novels because it's exposition that some fans have been asking for and it clears up why some of the captains never used their bankai or even shikai. I know it took TTYBW arc to reveal why Shunsei and Yamamoto never used their bankais (since it'd put the entire Gotei 13 at risk when fighting vs Aizen and his arrancar), but from a story pov, it'd make sense why Kubo doesn't reveal the info for the other captain's bankai in the last arc. Imagine if someone goes "Yoruichi, why don't you use your shikai or bankai? O I don't like using it because I hate it, but it's *insertinfodump*." I like Bleach and I get that Kubo likes drawing cool shit, but if you're gonna make cool characters, at least show off how great they are.

Kinda makes me wonder why Azashiro was so determined to become a Kenpachi by disposing of Kurayashiki. Seeing this calm Azashiro it's definitely a contrast either Zaraki or Kurayashiki. Definitely not someone I'd think about when it comes to showing brute force.
That's the thing. He's the epitome of the "strongest" not exactly being a brute. It shows that the title is a lot more complex than what we were led to believe. Also Yumichika Ayasegawa proved that eventually.

Considering that every Zero Division member created something for the Soul Society - I wonder what Kuruyashiki did to get that invitation. Did he bring booze into the Society or something? Lol. Actually with what his abilities are and what's left from technology in the Soul Society - maybe the walls? The ones dropped from the Royal Palace? Some building standards? The punishment holes, the ones with reiatsu blockers and the Hollows being invited over (it would make next Kenpachi defeating him - so much more satisfying). Or maybe some type of training?
You can still actually sort of read the story through Brave Souls' story mode. It may only be through cutscenes inbetween banal gameplay but it gets the job done.
I am much more interested in the remaining five unknown Kenpachi 2,3,4,5, and 6 specially number 4 since Japanese number 4 is death or unlucky number to them and mostly characters in anime series that are number 4 in group have one of the most iconic part in the series like Hisoka and Ulquiorra both are number 4 in there particular group

Here is what I never understood about Bleach. Wasn't Yammamoto Genryusai like... the singular strongest Shinigami? I never understood how Zaraki Kenpachi was "the strongest" when Yammamoto far outclassed him and probably most the other Kenpachi. It's like Burter from DBZ saying he is the fastest in the universe but his own Captain, Frieza, King Cold, etc were all much faster.

In that way the current kenpachi was weak so it counteracts the seamingly cheap attack. If one was observant its likely you could tell the woman was his shikai. But its like a game of snap were one cheats. Both have one hit kill bankai but if you rig the game to fire first your garanteed you win.
There's nothing cheap about it. If you were given the same ability as his, you'd be an idiot for not using its full potential. He simply had the upperhand bc of his hax that's all. It's not enough reason to call it cheating.

I really hope they stop putting stuff from the novels into Brave Souls first. it wasn't fair to see Shinji's bankai in a mobile game before manga or anime lol. on top of other things too. we waited for the anime to return, we can wait for them to adapt the novels into the manga/anime. no need to rush and put it in a game like that.
Nobody was allowed to use their bankai in the seireitei without being allowed to do so. Only when invaded were they allowed, so when ichigo and his friends infiltrated.
That is technically right. However, unlike kuruyashiki, they are simply not allowed to use it during peaceful times for obvious reasons. Kuruyashiki on the other hand is a different case since his bankai is basically uncontrollable and indiscrimate.
in all honesty the whole rule of compachi makes no sense at all unless the captain of the 11 reason why the original Captain who is still alive to this day switched to the 4th division which I'm pretty sure is not the medical one well is it the fact that that title of Captain 11 is always going to be kenpachi if so then it makes sense because otherwise it doesn't because she was the very first kenpachi if that's the case how was there a 7th she was never killed is it the fact that she relinquished the title of compachi and that's what prevented her from having to be killed by her next in line I don't know that's just my thought

Well, it's nothing compared to Nanao Ise Zanpakotou, who's Shikai ability surpasses even the strongest Bankai in Bleach.

I'm confused about the timeline. If Unohana was a first kenpachi and resigned from being kenpachi for Zaraki then when all this had happened? Maybe I'm missing something but I remember Unohana being on of the oldest shinigamis, she was in Gotei 13 before Ukitake and Kyouraku. Where is the space for Zaraki to become a 11 Division captain in this story? Kuruyashiki is kenpachi after Unohana?

@@legion0764 Diversity , just why will a bankai be so one note . There are different kinda , some kinds are harmful to everyone around like shunsui , Shinji and kuruyashiki . Making them not useful in group fights but really useful in 1v1 and 1v all.

@@legion0764 Not just that , bankai are depiction of the soul . So kuruyashiki's shikai which is strong and works with everyone around shows his strong yet friendly nature . Whereas his bankai depicts why he is the kenpachi , a mindless killer who doesn't distinguish between foe or friend alike .

They are. The events fit canonically into the story and kubo help while writing them.

Nobody was allowed to use their bankai in the seireitei without being allowed to do so. Only when invaded were they allowed, so when ichigo and his friends infiltrated.
That is technically right. However, unlike kuruyashiki, they are simply not allowed to use it during peaceful times for obvious reasons. Kuruyashiki on the other hand is a different case since his bankai is basically uncontrollable and indiscrimate.

in all honesty the whole rule of compachi makes no sense at all unless the captain of the 11 reason why the original Captain who is still alive to this day switched to the 4th division which I'm pretty sure is not the medical one well is it the fact that that title of Captain 11 is always going to be kenpachi if so then it makes sense because otherwise it doesn't because she was the very first kenpachi if that's the case how was there a 7th she was never killed is it the fact that she relinquished the title of compachi and that's what prevented her from having to be killed by her next in line I don't know that's just my thought
