So were a lot of people and none of them had the same approach to it he did. It wasn’t just for speed or a extended reach if you listen to his tapping lines there’s an actual harmony to them he’s arpeggiating chord progressions a great deal of the time
@watjanawa It's not that stupid a question because Beck used a pick until the mid-80s, then he developed a fingerpicking technique that's fairly unique for rock guitarists. Sometimes it looks like he's using a pick when he plays with his thumb and forefinger together, though.
Jeff Beck accidentlty cuts of his finger! In what can only be described as a freak accident, all time great Jeff Beck cut the tip of his left hand index finger completely off while cutting carrots for a stew he was making. Thank God it is the year 2010 as doctors were able to reattach it. He also now has insured each one of his fingers for 700,000 pounds.
I glanced through the other posts, and did not see any mention that this is from a 1989 concert film, titled "Lenny Live and Unleashed". (via IMDB) Forgive me in advance if I missed it, and this is redundant.
