Its realllly hard to put my experience into words but I was literally fighting back tears when I was talking to someone about it afterwards. This technology is crazyyyy and I cant wait for you guys to see/experience what I'm talking about.
Check out the movie “click” I feel like that movie perfectly describes what your talking about in terms of feeling like your reliving those memories
Can't say I disagree more with the sentiment around capturing family moments. MKBHD had a similar read on the weirdness factor. Instead of your family actually seeing your real eyes during all of this, they're looking at screens reflecting your magnified eyes. It's bad enough with the phones these days, but can you even imagine? Don't get me wrong, I have my fair share of Apple products and generally recommend their tech. Now if that tech was baked into a HomePod that would capture the moment instead of snorkeling up and for $2,500 for less, then yeah, I might be on board. "Family movie night! Grab your VisionPro headsets, diapers, and feeding tubes."
@@engineerallthings the way I understood what he was saying is that you would make the movie with a normal looking camera in the normal way we do now, but when you went to view it later, using Vision Pro, the experience would be like your back in the event. I completely agree that wearing the Vision Pro while recording stuff during a family event is super weird and will probably not become the norm.
I had a similar experience with the first iPhone... it was just so different but incredibly intuitive. After I tried one, I couldn't stop thinking about it!
Looking forward to the VisionPro!
All the tech RUclipsrs act like they had a spiritual awaking.
Apple just changed the world. And people who are saying it’s nothing special and overpriced fall into the category of the people who said that about the iPhone when it came out
Imagine an Alex Honnold free solo filmed for the Vision Pro! 😲
It will be soooo freaking good!
I would pass out
Welp, now he’s got to do it again😅
No way, it would make it infinitely more dangerous. No chance he’s risking it.
Imagine going outside yourself for once lol
I agree with you 100%. The one feature that struck me the most was recording video in 3D and being a father as well, I see the potential of reliving moments with my son later down the track when he is all grown up. E.g. rewatching a school sports game he was playing. Yes it’ll look silly having the Vision Pro on your head and recording in public, but if say the iPhone introduces a 3D camera setup to allow recording in 3D, then you watch in the headset. That be awesome…
Yep exactly!!
This will be a feature that I'm guessing all cameras will be able to do by this time next year. A couple of extra lenses for stereo recording and it'll be viewable in any VR headset, just like any 360 or 180 video is. My point is that people will be happy to watch this stuff in their $500 VR headset and it'll be just as immersive. I cannot imagine any device being $3000 better than what are pretty remakable devices available right now. I'm certain they are better, but I wouldn't be UNhappy with an oculus or the next batch of less-expensive VR headsets.
Your kid probably wants you just to be present for the actual moment 😬 It changes the moment for those around you. Idk I’m just not into this thing.
I think the dads will "get" this feature and others won't.... People complaining that in those moments you will be there with something on your face but we have done that for the last 50 years with video cameras 🤷
I'm a father also, and the videos of my child are so wonderful that I started investing in more high-end cameras lol. It reminds me though of what I heard Quentin Tarantino say about how he thinks poorly of parents who film their children. All I could think was how much he is going to regret that one day, when they are long grown and he has only vague memories. So sad.
I've watched 20+ videos from various YTers who had the privilege of a demo with the VisionPro and yours is the first one that also touched on the emotional tug of reliving a memory captured in fully immersive 3D. Flame me in the comments, but I definitely teared up when they showed a father watching 3D video clips of his kids with the device. Crossing the digital divide and making content that sparks a greater emotional response is taking us down the road of even more transcendent technology.
I'm depending on YOU to be the pioneer who learns the HOW behind creating immersive 3D video that will drive that emotional storytelling. Learn the things and create a course so we can do it too! Please, and thank you.
Putting aside the potential upsides that we agree on, I'm also very concerned with the downsides. Socially, I perceive that it will be 100x more offensive to sit next to a dad taking 3D video of his kid's school play vs. a dad taking 2D video with a giant screen iPad, right? The "uncanny valley" digital persona is off-putting in its current state and needs far more refinement. Additionally, I'm concerned with how isolating this technology will be. We already struggle to prioritize human connection with our portal 2D black mirrors (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) -- how much harder will it be to stay present and focused when this "spatial computing" device is available?
Really? You’re taking a moment to memorialize something special with your kid forever. A moment you want to remember. And your main thought is “how do i look”? Thats silly
Reliving your memories with your kids through video might be the only eay to ever see them considering the divorce and single motherhood rate in the USA
I do NOT agree that it's more offensive to use a MR headset to record, because its actually 100X MORE isolating to stare a tiny phone screen, then just watch the fucking show like NORMAL. How are you not getting this? He/she also has their HANDS FREE!!! THEY CAN FUCKING CLAP!!! smh.
there will be a business for memories.
You have watched videos from non married or with kids RUclipsrs
Agree agree agree. I’m so curious how to use the tech to make a new type of content
Hi Daniel
Didn't expect to see you here Daniel haha
Oww you're here. Nice 👍
Thats the problem whit vr ("what i do whit this thing ? Question ,and yuo will find that apart of games and simulation , its finish gatting dust in yuor corner desk
This is my favorite Apple Vision Pro impressions video. I can tell you're excited about what you don't even know BUT you have experienced enough to be excited. But you aren't over the top giddy about your experience. I feel this video more than all of your other videos as of late. The father piece is huge too; I have 3 and they're growing FAST. Excited for the future, whatever it becomes! Cheers man!
It will change the way you see filmmaking 😊 can’t wait to save memories
@@mattih Indeed! I am also thinking about how important it will be for my high school junior. The ways in which you can experience and manipulate information will be incredible with a device like this. $3500 to start is steep however, with a growing family using this device as a learning and creative tool? I feel will almost be a necessity for children to compete in a global educational, creative, collaborative, and working environment. Cheers from Arizona!
@@mattih also people with limited mobility / ability. Amazing
Same. All other impressions I watched came from tech or programmers. Good to see a photographer’s take.
@@NT-or9wh I can definitely get the tech reviewer and apple fanaticism BUT a family man/content creator/filmmaker perspective is nice. And usually there’s a healthy amount of genuine playfulness (which I can appreciate!) that wasn’t as apparent in this one. It allowed me to HEAR what he was saying and see him seem to stumble while describing the experience. It was definitely my favorite and more genuine video with a high level of excitement sans the extra, somewhat typical reactions to Apple “magic” . Honestly, I haven’t felt that excitement about an Apple product on a long time. 🤣😅
you're saying so many thoughts and comments that I have been saying to myself as a fellow camera man I find it so interesting that it will like you said feel like you're re living a memory just like a sci fi movie or game when there are flashback scenes in a sense. all other tech you tubers done quite under stand that aspect of story telling and film making
It felt soooo futuristic it’s crazy
Y’all should watch the 1990s movie “strange days” about this type of tech.
Its about people being able to record their memories and share them. A black market develops for porn/snuff films.
Then theres like a george floyd moment with a police murder captured.
The movie is great, it was way ahead of its time. Raph Fiennes is the lead.
It will definitely take filmmaking to a whole new dimension
@@pahwraith I saw it back then and it was possibly the only film where I've ever walked out of the cinema mid-film. Great idea but I thought it was horribly realised. It's certainly relevant here now. Sci fi tends to aim to be ahead of it's time, no? Maybe I should try it again but I'm not all that sure my opinion will be all that different?
Great description and all. But what I admire the most is Matti's ability to keep recording with Kyle around and seamlessly including him in the video. Wonder if I can do that with my twins
I agree - he handled that beautifully.
I disagree. I found his son annoying and distracting and had to stop watching the video.
@@daveistrading LOL. That’s because you’re Dave, retired. I’m old and grumpy, too. 😐
@@peterfritzphoto Just being honest. Parents and pet owners never see how distracting they are to others.
It was good content ruined
@@daveistrading Yeah, I’m the same. I CANNOT work with the distractions of any kind. Which explains why I’ve worked from an upstairs home for 20 years! The whole upstairs area is mine!
This sounds revolutionary. I had this feeling of "being there" in a IMAX Laser 3D Cinema in DUNE, and it was so far from any normal Cinema experience that it was like completely another Thing. I was excited for weeks about this experience. It is great that this experience wont need IMAX cameras, big Budgets, crews and IMAX theatres in the Future.
The way the seats trembled when the Ornithopters were flying to the desert mansions
So to put this in perspective, I actually watched a bit of Dune in 3D on mine when I got it, and it was really awesome, but compared to the Apple Immersive Video, it almost looks and feels like just plain old 2D in comparison. This isn't just 3D on a screen - this is "you're actually there" 3D, and combined with the spatial audio, your brain almost has a hard time telling that it isn't actually real. It's such a fundamentally different thing than just 3D - it really is hard to put into words. I'm a 51 year old man and when I was watching their AIV demos on Apple TV, there were moments where I thought "this is amazing", and moments where I thought "this is way too personal", and then there was the moment when I realized what all of those kinds of reactions to the same piece of technology mean for the future and I actually cried. This is different from anything you've ever experienced by like 1,000 fold, and there's no way this doesn't fundamentally change everything in the future. It's that profound of an experience when you see the right experience for you.
This was so Genuine. I am so glad ive gotten this far into the Future, while still being healthy and Creatively Involved. I believe 3D Video is going to shift everything because its an additional layer to add to all of the already existing Mediums. Movies, Streaming, Concerts, Tutorials, RUclips...This will be the first Domino to set the other mediums to quickly adopt Ar/ Vr as well as 3D Video! Ready Player 1 is Less Than 20 Years Away! (Which Makes me excited and nervous at the same time). As Creatives All we MUST do is remain ADAPTIVE and we will be okay.
so much more efficient when learning new skills. thats a great angle
Genuine? Dude, this is probably paid promotion.
This is an awesome take on it. All I have heard is how expensive it is and few are mentioning that it's a stand alone thing, not a typical VR headset that connects to something else. I was thinking the filmmaking aspect could be a major step up but you are the first to mention this.
As soon as you experience it you know something new is happening 🙌🏻
it is incredible. you literally feel like you are there.
Mate, this is such a good video! It’s lovely to see your passion and excitement about it. I wasn’t at the event so didn’t see the demos, but even just looking on RUclips, you could see that this was an inflection point; something completely new. I feel that so many of the tech reviews are intentionally playing it down so that they don’t come across as Apple fans, and perhaps they are jaded by all the new tech that keeps flooding in, but I do think that this is another time that Apple is going to introduce a game changing refinement.
This sounds exactly what people were saying in 2016 when they were experiencing VR for the first time, except 7 years too late. Not really sure what the big deal is, but I guess I have to see it for myself. It's cool that you film things on the device, but are you really going to want to wear a goofy headset during your kid's birthday party? It's like that move Real Life with Albert Brooks, where they wore those silly helmet/cameras to make the first ever reality TV show.
LOL Obviously someone new to VR 😂 Apple doesn't do anything different to what's out there already. Just drop the belief Apple is so good.
Is the CANON R5C already prepared to make this kind of content?
Most definitely
I seriously can’t wait to get my hands on one and film a Christmas morning with my kids. That will be so awesome to relive
Just don’t get into the habit of doing it. Nothing beats the experience.
@@josuedavid3786 As photographers and filmmakers, we already do this. We document important events in our lives, This is just a next level version of it. If you really believed that, you would never record any of those moments, how sad that would be.
@@josuedavid3786 for sure, I wonder if they could come up with a stand and set it to record or something that way you could be present and still have it record for you.
@@josuedavid3786Well said.
It's like listening to someone who tried Oculus Rift DK1 in 2013.
So damn excited about this Matti, I felt the same way when I first tested the Varjo (Finnish VR headset company).
I have a feeling this is wayyyy better than that. This was sooo much better than any VR stuff I’ve tried or seen.
If you think that's immersive, you should try volumetric video, where you can actually move your head a small amount in the live action scene (e.g to peer around objects).
My first impression was nearly the same! This will definitely add a whole new layer/dimension to narrative films, not to mention documentaries, etc... It also reminded me of the birthday memory in Blade Runner 2049.
Wow, I didn't expect such an angle. I thought it was just a glorified VR/AR headset from what other youtuber's experience with the vision pro. We might need to prepare for what is to come.
Yea I think a lot of people are missing how this will change storytelling and video content.
Pretty much every RUclipsr who have tried the Vision Pro and made a video video about it have said that it’s nothing like any other VR/AR out there. It seems to me that the majority of people who thinks it’s a gimmick are people who generally dislike Apple products.
As soon as I saw the 3D video, I thought about my father getting old. Being able to capture memories in 3D and relive them would be invaluable
Its nice that Apple fans are finally discovering VR180 format. Its a 6yr old format thas great in high resolution. Welcome to the club VR enthusiasts.
And it’s been 6 years of crappy grainy videos, I seen so many in different VR headsets, I love 180 3D videos. Thankfully Apple will perfect it and make watchable for more than a few minutes. Same story as tablets existed before the iPad, but people did not want to use them, excerpt for a few nerds like myself 🤓,cause they sucked.
Yeah, a future of entertainment is here... concerts, movies, and one-one experience sounds realistic, imagine having experiences like sitting in a concert front row. The future is moving quicker than we thought....
My boy is growing up❤, I can see him tryna disturb you while filming😂
Great to see Kai 😊
Thank you so much. I've been thinking about buying one of the VR but holding and will buy this. Believe me it will be my first Apple product. YES, I'm android guy! I told my wife that this is the reason I didn't get the new car 😅
😂 can’t wait for you to try it!
@@mattih Thank you for making this video. We are late payments and you can understand as you said as well, they grow fast. I mean living these moments when we are old and probably alone which eventually we will be.
Thank you for the reply. This is the first reply I received from you. We never missed your videos 💙
I lost count of how many new tech came out in last 20 years that was supposed to be "future of filmmaking" and now are just meh and hardly used. Hey talk about your $100000 camera again. We need more videos on that for sure.
That’s true
But normally when Apple comes to the party it’s years late but actually good and everyone follows.
Look at AirPods
Or Apple Watch
Or the iPhone (until the iPhone was announced Android was going to just be for digital cameras, not phones)
Personally I don’t believe this will ever replace traditional films however based on apple’s track record alone and not considering other factors, I believe that the Vision Pro will definitely introduce a new art form entirely to the masses. Maybe not the first generation, but probably the second or third.
It's awesome that Apple was able to build something that truly made justice to the potential of the technology. I was already amazed with the immersion of the Quest 2 and just couldn't stop wondering how this tech would eventually become something very profound. Your experience shows we're close to that milestone. What I find annoying is people dismissing the whole concept as a flop in the making, akin to 3D TVs, when it's clearly something so beyond it can't even be compared.
This visually impaired blind person says... ALL HYPE
I got burned buying all sorts of FPV goggles that promised game changing experiences.
They got used once or twice for 5 minutes then shelved, because you just don't want to wear a scuba gear thing on your face like an alien facehugger. Even my friends did not want to wear them a second time. I'm tired of all these goggles shills saying goggles are the future. #endthegogglepvke
Yoh I was thinking of all the things I can do with this. Personal home theater, this instead of multiple TVs. No more extra monitors for multitasking during edits. Taking more panoramic shots and relieve those moments with the Apple Vision Pro. My mind is full of limitless imaginations when I saw the keynote. Yes the price is high but once you put in all the factors on say getting multiple screens, newest tv on the market etc. the price isn’t so bad after all.
when i watched the event this was what i was most excited for, spatial video is going to be the coolest thing ever
Hey Matti, love the vid. The vision pro is crazy! Not sure if you notice at 9:15, the video goes really small for about 20 seconds.
Whoops 😂 🤷♂️
@@mattih No worries! How's your Alexa mini so far? Excited to see what you make with it
It's just Matti showing how it felt going back to TV-life after using Vision Pro :-)
@@mikael.karlholm Hah! So true. I wonder how the Vision Pro sales will be when it does come out. It looks insane, but is that enough to warrant the 3500 dollars price tag?
I tured off and on my RUclips 3 times thinking it was me haha
I saw this like 5 years ago. The company is called NextVR. They made these immersive sports videos for VR and then Apple bought the company.
I'm really curious to see if a standalone camera will ever be released. Like ways to record using the same immersion perspective but in places/situations where wearing the helmet to record wouldn't be practical. Like in the ocean for example.
I feel like and insta360/apple colab. Is in the near future for this.
I was just asking this myself. I think if this thing takes off 3d cameras will come back into the market.
I wonder if we'll see vision capable cameras integrated into other apple devices, a dual camera setup for the iPhone where the lenses are separated for the stereotypic effect for example.
Definitely, almost from day 1. Probably sooner by 3rd party companies than by Apple, but that is what’s going to make people keep “using it” while out of their homes.
honestly my first thought about why this will adapt very fast is just the p*rn experience this can provide... the p*rn industry has always been a huge driver for innovation and i can only imagine if they manage to film the first AR/VR p*rn experience that actually feels real like the woman of your dream literally laying on the bed in front of you.. that will actually sell so many copies that in the end the product will mass adapt and only get cheaper, which will benefit all of us in the long term when we get the vision SE for 999$ eventually
It isn't so much the technology but how it is used that determines the future of filmmaking. I find that with early VR most filmmakers were taking the 2D approach and wrapping it around the viewer, as if they didn't know how to utilise the technology so they adapted what they knew. To make full VR filmmaking work we have to rethink the film language in much the same way it took creatives used to theatre time to develop the language of cinema (and alll the various techniques we take for granted).
I could feel your emotions, and then I was feeling my emotions.... I can honestly say you liked Vision Pro, and I would like to try it myself.
One of the best vids on Vision Pro! I too am looking forward to try them! Great vid!
🙌🏻
The biggest advantage of VR content is - traditionally, you were a spectator. Now you can be a character in the video or film.
Nah, if my dad would wear those stupid weird goggles on my birthday instead of living this moment with me he can go get the milk... For real how ridiculous do you want to look, going with those things through landscapes. Just no
What you don’t think we will have a camera for that? That’s so obvious
What’s the difference with ur phones now?
@@mattih Well according to another RUclipsr the birthday video was taken via the goggles... and even if there will be cameras for the goggles, the footage is very exclusive since the goggles cost 3500 $
One thing I believe is the price is too expensive for the average person. How come no other VR headset has ever been mainstream because people don't really want to wear things over their face
This is wild. I’m just thinking of a way to lay down while I edit 🤣
But I guess I’ll film a psychological horror on it.
Very cool stuff. Very scary stuff too. We’re all on the cusk of some wild times.
Idk about the capturing moments to relive narrative. In order to capture the original moment you’ll need to be looking through a screen. You’re not really reliving a memory in the future bc you never saw it. Plus your kids will be looking at that giant headset in real time 🤷🏻♂️
It might be cool to relive a moment, but I imagine my daughter on her birthday, looking at me with those goggles on, and it immediately making it seem like I’m not in the actual moment with her. I think wearing this for important moments lessens the impact of the moment in real-time just so you can relive it. It’s hard to relive something that you technically weren’t present for to begin with. Just my take on it. Also, the price 😵💫
The price will drop. This is already a substantial drop on the price of the nearest spec'd alternative (the Varjo XR-3, which is twice this price for less polish and capability). As our manufacturing gets better, and volumes go up, we'll get it cheaper. Also, I'd be surprised if the next iPhone didn't include enough sensors and the right chipsets to capture these videos.
I hear people saying this but I disagree. How are you any less present than if you were holding up a phone?
I thought about this as well, but imagine back in the 80s when people had the huge VHS cameras on their shoulders filming a birthday party and family events. Same thing. It’s just for moments. I’m sure it will become normal.
I think most 3D video will actually be shot on future smartphones as an option, recording from 2 of the back cameras at once. It’ll be viewable on the headset though for full immersion.
@@tronam right!
2:53 dinosaur anyone ? The first ever PlayStation demo Sony did for game developers is a 3D dinosaur, all the sensores and display are all Sony
Apple purchased 1.3 inch silicone-based OLED for each eye for its inner display. Costing $350 per eye total $700. Which is the most expensive component Apple is using on the Spatial Computing VISION PRO.
you explained the best , i saw 5-10 videos on it this was the best commentry , keep bringing raw content ,
🙏🏻
Imagine watching "Movies" that uses "First Person View" (Like "Hard Core Henry"), will be made in the near future. That level of "Experience" as you were the main character of the movie, just think what "Film Makers" can do with with this technology.
I think once they add Cinematic Mode the game will be changed forever.
Why should something that makes you "feel like you are in the video" change filmmaking? That is not the goal of filmmaking, especially when it comes to movies. Unless you are referring to a specific type of video, such as vlogs or drone videos, I fail to see how 3D or "immersive experience" should replace the 2D experience. The two experiences offer very different things, and their visual languages are completely distinct. If anything, the immersive experience is something that will coexist with filmmaking as we know it now, but it certainly won't replace it, nor will it change its structure or essence. VR will be another form of expression to add to the already existing ones.
Photography didn't "change" painting, and movies didn't change photography.
They can influence each other at a cultural level, but they continue to offer unique experiences, each with its own limitations regarding how deeply they can delve into our essence.
In my opinion, the more we pursue the "realistic" effect, the more we lose depth, and the less the experience can provide something truly "real." That has been my experience with art, at least. And, of course, I am referring to aesthetic realism, not the realism of content as seen in neorealism in Italian cinema.
I’ve experienced that intimacy you described a few times when using my Meta Quest 2. Content has to be super high quality and filmed correctly. I’ve experienced where I wanted to move away or swore that I could feel them in front of me.
Congrats… top most usage of the word “ like” per like second. Like dude.. like duh like…
Imagine watching Formula 1 or MotoGP in first person view. What an immersive experience that can be.
it will give you motion sickness because of artificial locomotion, this is well studied in other VR systems
I bought some VR goggles. $800 waste of money.
I used them when I first got them for a few days and now they collected dust on the shelf afterwards. Still sitting there.
Just not that interesting. Don't want junk on my face. Give me a monitor any day of the week.
Really interesting to get your perspective. It is really expensive, but as it matures and price comes down, I think this will replace laptops/desktops for most people. Add a cradle for when you get fatigued and hook up to a regular monitor... Very controlled environment and demo, but everyone is impressed and the tech people have a lot of VR experience. Next iPhone Pro has to have 3D video capture and that LiDAR is going to be put to more use.
Have you never used VR before? Never been to a VR live concert? Watch a ticket and attend a VR theater?
These experiences have been going on for the last seven years. What you're saying sounds exactly like what everyone says about even the worst VR displays when they try them for the first time.
9:06 that mini scale video. I'm glad this stuff doesn't just happen to me!
Haha yep 😂
Now I truly understand the setup with the iPhone. With the Vision Pro, Apple setup the iPhone with LiDAR and Ar back with the iPhone 12
I understood it, but it just wasn't Real World adaptation for me to use it!
Now I know this is where Apple is going:
Tim Cook will say: " and with the iPhone camera system being able to shoot LiDAR images and Video, when you look through it with the Vision Pro, it's like your right there".
This will be enabled in like iOS 18 by the end of 2024 and first person video and content will change forever
That's how I felt with the Quest 2, so I can imagine the extra resolution must take it to another level. The Qoocam Ego is good for high resolution VR video, not VR 180, but like a big 3D screen. I hope we get some high quality VR 180 video cameras now, at a reasonable price, been waiting for years. Hugh Hou reviews all the good VR cameras and editing methods, he's great.
Only problem is there’s no mention of gaming on this headset, which almost defeats the purpose of an immersive virtual experience
@@alexkennedy5133there will most definitely be gaming. Apple just have to give people good vibes about AR (where It’s really Mixed Reality and VR has had a bad rep)
Don’t do a Meta and scare people that they might need a sick bag
@@TyKix I don't think that was the problem with the Quest 2, it was just that the hardware wasn't good enough and wasn't comfortable to wear for long.. I see people find the Quest Pro much more comfortable, so hopefully the Quest 3 will be similar. Never felt sick using the Quest 2, but I hate the lenses, the weight, the size and the heat it produces. For some games, its obviously underpowered. I still use it at least 2 hours every day😂
@@sharpvidtube I work in the industry so I use every headset available and Quest 2 is showing its age. I have a Quest Pro and it’s comfort levels are better mainly due to a inbuilt solid strap but some have found the front pad weighs on their forehead and gives them massive headaches. On a daily basis I go out to different businesses showing VR and you will 100% get at least one person say they get sick wearing a headset, might be a way to get out of trying it but some genuinely do.
@@TyKix I know some do, same as some get sick travelling, but it doesn't stop everyone else doing it.
No Matti, this is not a creation device. It's a consumption device, just like iPhones and iPads.
This device is so sick, and I am so excited, but man do I fear the future. I agree, VR/AR is the future of entertainment, but I honestly don’t like it. It’s dope, but my old soul doesn’t want to see it happen
It was very inspiring and hopeful for me when I experienced it. But yes who knows what gonna happen
@@mattih I’m very excited as well. I just see the concept/thought process of: “Why should I go experience ____ if I can just do it from my couch through my headset” being a huge part of our future. Both an awful and incredible issue to have. I grew up playing in the woods, building forts, and swimming in the creek. I hope my kids will get to experience an ounce of that. Thanks for your response. Love what you’re doing
One of the biggest problems is the speed of content. The content becomes faster and faster due too shorts and TikToks. These glasses need high quality content that can't be made fast. Also wearing glasses affects your vision in a worse way than a regular screen.
It was definitely like watch a new phase in our tech future :) so excited to be able to edit films with it and have as much real estate space as I need
Filming birthday parties, etc, with the headset on is creepy. Apple needs to sell a 3D camera or put stereo cameras on the iphone, so people won't have a digital barrier between them and their family.
I think this is the last thing we need… people have enough issues being absolutely glued to technology and not simply living in the moments that they’re in. We as humans need to exist and be present in the priceless moments that we’re given. Wearing a contraption to capture what you’re actually seeing sounds like people recording a concert on their phone, and not even enjoying the concert while they’re PHYSICALLY there 🤦🏼♂️
That’s the point of this. Tim Cook said it best, “you see through it, not at it”. Hence why one of the videos of it shows that a dad able to react in real time when the soccer ball was kicked to him by his kids while he was working using the VisionPro. You are present unlike with the Oculus or PlayStation VR. Did you not see the keynote? 🤦🏻♂️
Trust me, this won't be addictive... Watch Brainstorm (1983) Strange Days (1995)
They do not advertise as a thing you need. Also people personal problems should not hinder from amazing game changing technology from happening it’s so cool and I think it’s so well done especially from Apple. And personal screen problems vary from person to person and it’s easy to get detached from it. So I don’t think that should stop them from changing it. This is amazing technology and you even have to admit
im an old timer so for the most part I agree with you. But the real issue isnt the tech of the phones, its social media thats the problem. people are addicted to the social media. This headset does not look like a social media device and I dont think it will be an issue. especially in the area of augmented reality
@@MarceloGarcia9 bro you planning on running around playing soccer with a giant, metal, heavy piece of tech on your face? 😂 I’ve watched enough already about this thing to understand the concept and different application purposes. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very impressive and innovative milestone for technology. My point is that that’s not necessarily a good thing. In this case, it is trying to get people to transition from virtual reality to ACTUAL reality flawlessly, and I believe that regardless of how seamless the device works we should prioritize *actually* being present in your daily life. Not looking at people through a digital device, where people around you are looking into digital versions of your eyes… instead of looking at a fake version of what’s really in front of you, how about taking the headset off and enjoying what’s actually there.
Hah me too the psychology of reliving experiences. That is what I thought when I saw the bday clip. Can hardly wait to try it.
I still dont get how ppl are not excited by this it can change so many things yes it expensive but even then just the possibility are just mind blowing im so excited
what make it different than what was done before like watching a 360 interactives video ? Product look very good, im happy Apple, and also Sony are going next lvl on VR etc... but 3500$ + poor battery life is hard to sell.
Hey Matti , Can You Tell Me Which Video, Photo Editor is Best or Which One Do You Use . 😊
Movies ain’t going to be a screen. It’s going to be as if your there in the movie experience in 3D. Future.
*Does watching a movie in the apple vision pro have the same quality, detail and sharpness as a real 4k TV?*
You're a GREAT DAD btw
Thats where 360 cameras like Insta360 can come in, although the quality on these cameras is too bad for these goggles. Before most people just edited out different angles to make a regular video out of 360 video. Now you can just use the whole 360 video as it is.
Am I the only one thinking this "capture memories to play back later" makes memories of seeing Strange Days (1995) pop back to the surface after being forgotten for over 25 years? Wow!
Dude, control your kid. It's distracting and unprofessional.
In the end reality will win.
Of course as a filmmaker this tech is crazy, the future of filmmaking will change forever but AI will
be a big part of that creatively.
The very thing that connects us creatives starts to disappear. At what point does creative filmmaking become soulless?
This has me hyped…spending the next 6 months saving 3500 for this
Yes, shooting VR180 video and replaying it in VR is basically time-travelling to the past!
Oh nah… F that lol. Just more tech to pull people out of reality.
The Adult film industry is about to change... 😂
Horror content made for that will be traumatizing
considering how people ALREADY connect emotionally with their idols NOW, thru social media, imagine when it's even more immersive... Do you know what job will have QUEUES in front of their shops? Psychologists... Tech is fantastic but we underestimate A LOT what the impact already IS and WILL be. I went to a K-Pop concert in Osaka a few days ago, I LOVED it but was very impressed by how the viewers were deeply connected to each group member. VERY impressive!
it will be pretty cool if companies now start investing in 3d cameras and movies. I wouldn't be surprised if iPhone 18 or something has 3d cameras since we have the techonlogy to consume that type of content
Yes!!! Thank you for saying this! Being able to record videos on this is amazing! And it's only going to get smaller and better!
Imagine a sports streaming service where you get to pick and change the camera location.
Everything you're describing though isn't really new and people have had that "awe" feeling with the Meta Quest and other VR headsets in regards to feeling intimate situations virtually and standing on the top of Mt Everest. Which it really is a mind blowing experience and the reason people like Mark Zuckerberg are so obsessed with it. They're just bringing their new "apple" perspective on it. It definitely has to be experienced to be understood. Most people just think of it as 180 degree video but the 3d aspect and spatial audio take it further.
Am I the only one seeing Matti shrinking into a tiny rectangle from 9:04 to 9:30?😅
I seen it! 🤣
Thanks! Thats the thing, people ripping the Vision Pro have no clue what it's like. They are basing it off the kid toys like Playstation accessories or Meta Quest. The VP is FAR more powerful and capable and they havent even scratched the surface of what it can fully do yet. I cannot wait to get one and see what it becomes.
Yeh, you're going to be able to capture and re-live those moments... but your kids are going to be looking at a pair of ski goggles - not seeing their father live that moment with them. Sacrificing connection and presence in the moment, for future memories... it doesn't feel human
💯
The obsession and Apple adoration of this and the fact that "influencers" seem to be 100% sold to Apple's message draws my attention more than the device itself. No doubt it's amazing. But I feel like this will disconnect the world like never before and it's finally the turning point where we destroy real human contact in favor of a VR one.
Maya khalifa will return to the industry for sure
I honestly hope this is something that is dead on arrival. We have enough problems with social anxiety and obesity as it is. Something like this is only going to make those things worse. Don't get me wrong! I'm overweight and working on it. I know I'm part of the problem but I'm a little sad that there wasn't anything in regards to something like fitness or training and these kinda of fake versions of yourself in a chat just leads me to believe we will have more catfishing than anything else.
Technology keeps getting closer and closer to the world of Ready Player One every day
one of the best thoughts on the new vision pro...loved seeing your son's interaction...:)
The camera tech is NextVR, a company that Apple purchased for 100million about 2 years ago. It was on the Oculus store, I used it, but it stopped working after Apple bought it. Though I’m sure it looks100x better on the Vision Pro.
If Apple wants this 3d video recording to be mainstream, then they will need to be able to integrate this recording technology into other devices. Does this mean iPhone 15 will now have 3D Video Recording to integrate with Vision Pro? What about external glasses you can use with iPhone 15, so you can be immersed similar to Vision Pro (but probably not as good)?
Or maybe it is already there, and no one knew, so now the Visio Pro will unlock a feature we have already been using.
Yea my guess is that it’ll happen soon enough and lots of companies will make different versions of cameras that will be able to record for this.
Stereoscopic immersion will need to capture from lenses an eye-width's apart, which would be an ergonomics issue for current slab designs--save for iPads...!? 😅
@Matti I could easily imagine some Star Wars Macrobinoculars (or an upscale Fisher Price View Master) rigged out with whatever would be needed to capture Spatial A/V. That would render it about as unobtrusive as lightly rigged-out cameras, although to get the kind of fidelity required for proper playback on the Vision Pro...that might price itself into controversy, like some of the blowback for the Vision Pro
Imagine a live FaceTime type chat with a group of friends, you’re in London and the group are in Sydney and your face is on the screen of one of the wearers in n Sydney - not only would you feel like you’re there to our friends would be looking at you as if you were there for real..
once I saw cinema mode. That sold me. It’s the ultimate way to experience a movie. Give me blade runner 2049 on that asap!
Hi Matt
You so nailed it!!! When comes to storytelling either film, stills, or additionally with a sprinkling of AR
Wow it’s a whole new dimension & depth to furthering our crafts!
You my friend are in the forefront please be the spear head to share how do we start creating in this fashion
The tools, techniques, software etc etc
So looking forward to your future insights !!
