You never ever call a Royal Navy ship using the prefix 'the'. It is simply HMS followed by the name. Get it right.

I am still shocked that this ship sank not in a normal place she sank literally near Greenland so they were surrounded by icebergs but in miles away .

I agree with previous comment. You NEVER say THE Her/His Majesty's Ship. That is an Americanism that is ok for their ships as they are the United States Ship (USS) this or that.
