This worked perfectly! Thanks! I did opt to purchase a clear case cover/sleeve for the AirPods Max rather than stick it directly to my AirPods Max, which gives me the option to remove the entire connection with ease simply by removing the cover.
thanks for making this and also including the other dongle!
Great video very helpful Thanks!
I seen these in the Apple store I immediately thought, great gaming headset. Just needed a good review & setup before I spent 5 bucks on a headset thanks bro ❤️🔥
I love my airpod max. Handing learning this ❤ thanks
I’ve come to find you can also just magnet the mod mic to the middle of the AirPods if you don’t like the idea of a magnet adhered to them. I left the adhesive on after I peeled it off so that it still has some resistance and doesn’t spin around, but I can just pull the whole mic rig off and have my AirPods still looking sleek still.
Works like a charm this way. I’ve even routed my wiring into it looking like one solid wire using heat shrink tubing
This surprised me! Very good thing ;)
Thank you for this video! You saved me from purchasing a separate gaming headset! And I couldn’t agree more, the quality & noise cancellation on the AirPods Max is a game changer! Thank you again! You got yourself a new subscriber 👌🏽
Hi! May I ask if spatial sound features work too if you connect the airpods max as described?
@@mohamedelmalak yep I’ve used the AirPods max spatial sound it was phenomal I thought it was real
@@supersop1367 thanks for the reply.. I wonder too if you tried to connect them wirelessly to the screen itself (not to the joystick/ console)? If so.. did you notice any differences compared to connecting them through the lightening cable for the joystick?
@@mohamedelmalak I’ve never tried that sorry
@@mohamedelmalak i think is late, but for better audio experience i recommend to plug it in a controller via Bluetooth they doesn’t sound the same
Your channel is so underrated. The quality of your content is better than loads of channels with more than 1M subs
I’m wondering if this’ll work if with multiple controllers for co-op gameplay. I got it set up for one headset and it’s beautiful
I’m literally about to go to Best Buy RIGHT NOW to do all of this lol.
Thanks, the only video about the "plug in headset to computer and have the mic work" problem. Bluetooth headsets don't teach you this before you buy them, which is horrible because you'd think you'd be using a really good mic for the money worth.
Nice vid man👍
Great Video, Thank you, my son has a Gaming system, will I need to get these things for it to work on the Gaming system?
You just saved AirPods MAX, lol.
Same. This dude is the savior.
Ong
Worked exactly like he said it would. As long as you buy what he says in the link. Thanks buddy.
I bought different ones on amazon and couldn’t get it to work. Hmmm
It didn’t work for me, I have an xbox series x
Hello !! What quality is the Airpods Max for gaming? Disposable ?? Thank you!
Holy shit, youre a genius. Im so late to this party but this changes everything! Thank you so much bro!!❤
Thanks for the video. I am not a gamer, but your video gave me a way to utilize my AP max headset as an aviation headset in my plane. The noise reduction of the AP Max is far and away superior to my $1200 Bose and Light Speed aircraft headsets. If Apple offered a turnkey adapter for aviation jacks, they would absolutely dominate the aviation headset market. Probably would not need the boom mike attachment at all. Cheers!
Thanks for the vid, tho I do own a pair of arctis headphones, and there isn't "a lot of DIY" for changing the earcups, just pull the old ones off and slip on the new ones.
I can’t get it to work on my Xbox series x. The game audio works but mic doesn’t work.
Nice & Thanks :)
Fascinating 🤠😌
Got a chord from Amazon but the AirPods don’t have any sound coming through them
Do you use Dolby Atmos? And what EQ do you use?
I see from the video that it fits over an Oculus but do you know if it fits over a PSVR headset?
I just got the audio lighting cable but it doesn’t recognize on ps5 controller.
Hi I ordered all these things and mine aren’t working to I need to reset the air pod max ?
If i plug the airpod max into my gaming pc, can i use them without turning on the headphones? I'll use the lightning cable to 3.5 mm jack and connect to my pc. Do the headphones need to be turned on for listening, or can it be turned off? My sony headphone connect to my pc via a 3.5mm jack, and it doesn't matter if they are off or on, it's works both ways.
I got everything and it does not work on my series x, no sound nothing??
Thanks!
Using a Bluetooth adapter connected too the Xbox won’t be able to connect them and have the mic as well?
Also the lightning to aux cable, doesn’t support the mic also? That’s why the other one is needed?
Hi late comment hope you see this!
I’m curious do I need to attach the magnet the the headphones to hold the mic
Or can I leave the mic on the desk?
Thanks 🙏
Would you recommend this mod to record audio or podcasts?
Can I use a Bluetooth adapter to connect my AirPods on ps5 and use the mod mic at the same time?
Why dose my headset has one side sound when it’s plugged to an aux?
I like the video even though i just want them for solo game play.
Will this work for a ps4, I’ve got the Apple cable, but it’s still not working
Any idea how to use the AirPods max built in mic and audio with Xbox?
the microphone works but i can’t hear any sound out of the headset is there a way to fix it?
Ohh my gooooood this is perfect.. thank you g🥹👑
Please please clarify! by using the wire to connect to switch, does the microphone work? I dont mind at all to use the wire, but I want to make sure the microphone will work on Nintendo switch (connected via bluetooth, the mic will not work.
With one of the recent updates for the nintendo switch, you can now use these through Bluetooth.
Question, do you have to buy that extra mic?? Can you use the built in mic on the airpods??
I’m really curious about this as well.
Can you still get phone calls from iPhone still?
I ordered aux extension cables with mine so I’ve got the option to not be tethered to what I connect to
Great idea! I wish Apple will add a version with a boom mic like yours. Because its mic is OK for a conference call - but not good. I suppose people at Apple who actually use it for the conference call know what I mean. But, I suppose Apple design lords will literally kill anyone trying to fuglify to their 'perfect' design.
Do you need the mic can’t you just use the built in mic on the AirPods or does that not work
Awesome video. Thank you.
how good is the adhesive, what happens if it drops, can you get a replacement, or you need to buy the whole mic again? thanks for the video
The adhesive is 3m tape which is pretty strong but if it does fail, u can buy some at like target or Office Depot
Can this setup work for my PS4?
plugging straight into the ps5 how is the "spatial awareness"? is it straight up stereo or would the ps5 3d audio work? thanks!
I have an Astro A50, its coming up to its second year, the mic isn’t working anymore, and the battery is also bad, should i upgrade?
(used AirPods Max go for around 350-400€)
Does it work for pc??? If so.. can you give a tutorial
Can you charge the headset while you use it on pc?
I have an Xbox series X , & I play Fortnite, I don’t really use the Xbox party, I usually just play duos with a friend & talk on Ft audio, My question is If I only want to hear the Audio from the Game Can I just Buy the Lightning Audio Jack & connect it to my controller? another words All I need is the Lightning Audio Jack right?
Only downside I’ve seen is that you can not control the game to chat ratio and was really hard to here people in areas that the game was loud.
Work with PlayStation 4?
Did this and have noticeable echo when talking….. any advice?
Are they better than Astro a50s for fps
Question, do the wireless Antlion work as well?
Does it have to be the Apple lightning to aux or can it be 3rd party?
I plan on using the modmic uni with the Sennheiser pxc 550 II connected to my Playstation 5, will it work? thank you
Would this work for mobile?
Would this work with the new Sonos ace?
I don’t get it, why with that price that didn’t they just add a 2.4ghz wireless option? I mean there are way cheaper ones out there that supports both wireless and Bluetooth. Also, the need to add a mic with adhesives and have two cables, yeh no thanks lol. Great video though, all straight to the point! subscribed 👍🏻.
Ah yeh and btw, when we connect a cable to a ps4 / ps5 controller, it’s all Bluetooth or? As I’ve done that with some old headphones and don’t really noticed much latency even though supposedly Bluetooth should be the worse when it comes to that..
Can I use the air pod mic
Why does it Not work? I Need help please
will this work if my monitor has no speaker
I mean.. only if you already own the Max should you think about this.. Otherwise just get a Sennheiser set of 59Xs and you're sorted.
How is the sound while gaming? Does it provide any surround sound so you know where another players footsteps are?
Exactly what I'm wondering - he said stereo quality but I think both consoles can output SS through the 3.5 cable on the controller.
@@alex2653 so I bit the bullet and purchased everything in the video and it works better than I expected. I know they’re pricey, but I’ll tell you what the sound quality coming out of the Apple Max’s is way better than any of the gaming headsets I’ve used and I’ve spent money on the $200 and $300 options, Turtle beach 800x and Steelseries Arctic 9x.
The bass is the most noticeable improvement, as well as the noise cancellation feature, which is the best I’ve ever experienced. The surround is great and I’ve noticed so many sounds I’ve never heard before in my games. And footsteps while playing Battlefield V were 3 dimensional so I could tell wheee people were very accurately. I’m looking forward to testing them out while watching a movie in Dolby Atmos on the Apple TV 4K when it comes in. The Dolby Atmos on the Xbox series X is awesome with this headset.
My biggest gripe is that after being totally wireless to have wires connected to the controller in my lap is not ideal, but I’ve zip tied them all together nice and neat at a predetermined length, and that helped with keeping the wires under control.
All in all, I believe I spent $670 on everything, which is way over what I would spend for something like this. However, I did, and I have no regrets. For me, the sound and audio experience is just so much better now.
Can't you do a bluetooth transmitter with the wireless mod mic and have it completely cordless?
I tried this and it doesn’t work. Once you plug the mic into the controller it’ll switch the audio to the TV even though it says it’s still going to headphones
The AirPods Max already has a mic, will the one lightning to aux be enough to hear and chat with Xbox?
No as when you plug it in with the cord the mic stops working sadly my
Can’t you use the inbuilt mics in the AirPods Max rather than buying the external mic…?
Yea it just sounds much worse
Does this work on pc?
Would this work on ps4
Paying over $500 for a wireless headset and having dongles, adapters, and adhesive tacked on to it does not a worthwhile purchase make
It's not Apple's fault. XBOX does not support bluetooth unless it's the Microsoft standard, which is guaranteed not to work.
@@Fluterra its apple fault for not making a proper cable to connect to other devices too
Hmmm, could they're be some reason why a gaming console shouldn't use bluetooth?
@@johnnymeansii for controller data is fine but not for realtime audio transmission since there is a slight delay.
@@bluiflip i guess you missed my sarcasm.
Yeah or you could just connect a USB mic and you dont have that knob on your headphoes verywhere you go. also no controller adapeters this way.
I noticed there are usb versions of the modmic (if I'm researching correctly). Is there any downside to getting the USB option or even the wireless version?
they dont work on xbox
What abut if I don’t need it as a mic only as the game sound ???
Just need to connect to a 3.5mm to my goXLR, for pc ???
Did you get this to work?
If you are watching this and have AirPods max you need apple 3.5 or you wont hear audio i have a 3rd party 3.5 an I can’t hear anything
I wish I could do this with phone calls.
will the built in mic in airpods max work? have you tried that?
Yea it sounds much worse though
Anyone know if this works for the Xbox series x
I use mine with a blue yeti desktop mic
Why can’t you just plug the headphones directly into the controller? Why do you need the adapter if you use the Aux adapter cable? It’s TRRS so it should carry the game audio and microphone channel. Am I missing something?
Cuz you need to plug the mic in as well
I have a 3.5 mm audio cable with lightning connector MFI from Belkin. The headset is detected by the console but i have no sound so I'm wondering if it's because of the cable or the settings ?
did you fix it
@@lucciano9866 yea im having the same issue
hotshotek what you said is all true. as someone who bought arctis 7p+ i can whole heatedly say if it wasn’t wireless i would not buy such a flimsy average sounding headset. i wish airpods max whould work on the ps5 with mic.
My Airpod Max does not look the same as yours, it doesn’t have the piece to plug in a mic on the side?
If you watched the whole video he explained what that piece is...
Great
Does it hurt with long term use while wearing glasses?
For me no but it depends on the frame type
Does the ps5 make the mic sound worse than it is? He talks highly of the mic quality but I sound really bad in game through ps5. Anyone else like this?
You’re an amazing RUclipsr! Let’s do a podcast sometime! 😉
Does it work without the specific Apple lightning to 3.5mm audio jack? Ex: can I use a 3rd party one?
Ya I’m using a 3rd party one and my mic doesn’t seem to work with the game, I might have to order the one form apple
@@InIt4TheMemez did the one from Apple work?
Does using lightning to 3.5mm cable reduce the latency??
Yes as there shouldn’t be any.
great video! was the spacial audio working with in game surround sound on the XBX?
I dunno really but playing halo infinite on PC blew my $200 Corsair’s away in a major way, and it sounded like genuine rich surround. I can hear details like location of things in beautiful clarity.
What if I just want to use just for the audio. I already have a stand mic so yeah. (For ps5)
Or is it the same like the Nintendo switch
Will the magnet mess up anything in the airpods max?
i haven't noticed a difference, the magnet has been on for about 2 months now
Can you use the airpods mic with lightning to 3,5 ??
no
No it doesn’t work sadly. Just so you know, you need the 3.5 cable from Apple
awesome
Can I use it without that microphone you used with like another mic that could sit on my desk? i’m thinking a mic with a mute switch would be awesome to have instead of putting adhesive on my headset
The adhesive won’t be stuck on there. U just clean it. IMO it looks clean af with a mic on it
