Awesome video man, and what did we learn today kids? Use the proper hardware! Saves you time and headache. Can't wait to see the shoot out! Have a great day y'all.
Nice, step by step look at the removal and replacement of the carrier. I get to see bits and pieces of the process when I'm over in the mechanics area, but there is always something going on that needs my attention somewhere else. Thank you sir.
If you do race the 250r and the 350x i put my money on the R all day every day even the first gens will surprise you! Can't wait to see what you have for us next..
Another Great Informative Video! I paid to have the Carrier Bearings Replaced on my '91 250X, and after watching this Video, I know I could of done it myself, and saved A Few Bucks! And Thanks for Adding My '84 Yamaha 225DX at 19:52
If it's a 85 you have to use 86 sprocket and bolts. The sprocket and bolts on 86 are tapered. I have same problem the 9nly carrier I could get was 86 and the factory bolts hit.
I absolutely miss my 85X I regret selling mine for down payment on my 400ex not that their was anything wrong but I was young 120lbs and really struggled to hold that beast down on downhills and went through more shoes kicking it and a few lumps on my shin from the kickback. Your ex is beautiful
Great step by step video, hopefully inspires more people to work on their own bikes and do it the right way Bit of personal preference for me but when I get a new carrier like that I like to knock the bearings out and pack them with some good quality grease as I’m a bit dubious with the crappy white paste the come with, never had a failure yet, keep up the great work 👍🏻
Great video! Question: Were there any O-rings that were supposed to be installed on the outside of the new carrier? I noticed the old one you pulled out had a piece of one hanging. The bearing kit I purchased from All Balls (ended up purchasing a carrier with bearings after) came with 2 O-rings and 2 "square" rings.
I am restoring a 1984 200x now ...and I was wondering if you could tell me witch bolt does the clutch cable bracket bolt on at it was missing when I got it
Hi Jason, download the free manual for your trike, go the the chapter about the clutch, it will show you a picture of it and the location of the cable retainer and the bolt. its the upper right top bolt of the right side case.
Simplemente reemplazaría los cojinetes y los sellos y mantendría el espaciador central original. los rodamientos y sellos vienen en un kit en ebay o amazon.
My swingarm has about 1/2 in side to side play since install. I’m missing something, obviously, I’d love some professional advice on what that may be the problem. Can I contact you?
Is this an 86 because it looks like an 85 brake linkage and an 85 carrier? I dont have an 86 so i dont know them well but i see their 86 plastics soo. I have an 85 needs a carrier and im wondering of the one i have will work it looks just like the one you installed? Thanks Ken
This one is an 85 with 86 white plastic. (Previous owner). Your correct the clutch cable is routed behind the cylinder on an 86 also it would have a different timing chain adjuster.
@mrcbuilds so what is that carrier that you installed because beyond stock I am not finding anything that I'd said to fit even from the gurus? ... 😉 I have something that looks similar but it just too wide... wondering what model you used ? I ended up with a nice stock one but id like to know what else actualky fits with stock hardware. Thanks for the replys love your vids 👍
I used the caltric carrier, this one is advertised to fit with a free return policy, just don't use the grease zert and it will slide in. www.ebay.com/itm/182936219763?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=qTvQAafDTeK&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=jpfTOkQ6TV-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@mrcbuilds ok thanks , ah the 300ex one . yes you probably said it at some point but thanks for the help and the quick reply I like to know what actually can be used successfully . Keep up the good work!

Hi banshee, these are sealed bearings, and non serviceable. Thanks for watching , glad you liked it.
@@Mrcbuilds correct but you can slip the dust seals off, pack them with grease and just pop the covers back on
@@Banshee250R that's good information to know, thanks for sharing.
I had to buy a factory replacement for my X without bearings $350 with bearings I had to install!!
I like your helmet in the background, my ansr ( answer) has similar colors blue orange white
Thanks

This was the only one i could find, it did not have any orings. I have not had any issues with it so far.
Love your videos
Thank you Indiana Henschell.
Did you pump grease into the grease zert before you install the carrier barring?
I did but those are sealed bearings.

Quisiera saber que porta baleros le queda a una atc 200x. Le quedara el de la 250?
