      Tesla was in its very beginning and those lies in Roadster review almost broke the company. They did not care about everyone that was working hard there at that time, it was simply a joke no matter the consequences and chances of ruining a lot of people lives. How can someone trust their opinions from now on? I never will watch them again. This video is simply to say we screwed up but now you can trust us...

      Agreed. Tesla sheep are lost. Here's the reality. All the other car manufacturers are on the EV bandwagon and many of them are about to offer cars and suvs that have similar ranges to Tesla. Now here's the kicker; All of these car companies are backed by governments (German/Japanese/Korean/Chinese/USA etc) which means #1) they have more resources, #2) they have government backing for infrastructure, #3) they can dump product on the market, saturate it and wipe out competition, #4) they can guarantee quality since they can staff up as many people as they need. Tesla has done a great thing by changing the playing field but Tesla are akin to Barnsley 4th division now playing against Manchester City 1st division. It's going to be a blood bath in late 2018/early 2019. People don't want a shit $35K Car, they want all the extras and reliability.

      @@harrison8624 Top Gear producers base their script on actual car reviews conducted by Top Gear Magazine then any issues the reviewers points out will be exaggerated by the TV show for entertainment. People forget that all this happened in 2008 with the Tesla roadster. At the time the Tesla Roadster cost over $100k and even more in the UK and a base model Lotus Elise(roadster was based on) cost $46k Top Gear wanted to see if the roadster costing 3x more was 3x better than the Lotus. The roadster could do over 200 miles on a single charge but when you take it on a race track its range gets reduced severely and Top Gear weren't the only reviewers who experienced this. Top Gear had multiple roadsters on hand due to time constraints and unlike petrol cars where you can just refuel in 5min with EVs you gotta wait hours(Yes Im aware supercharging 30min to 80%) which added even more inconvenience to top gear film crew. It funny how other car makers never made a fuss about their cars being badly portrayed by Top Gear yet Elon Musk gets fucking butthurt so much if anyone dare questions or points out any flaws with his products just look at his twitter for proof. When Elon Musk starts getting emotional going on twitter rants or stupid lawsuits because of what someone says you know it's all true. With the Porsche Taycan just being released just proves how fucked Tesla is once the German automakers get their battery

      Waiting eagerly for your proof that there is no God... But yes some of it is an act, but a whole lot of it isn't, he is clearly egotistical, self opinionated, and full of his own self worth, but that's not to say there isn't a smidgen of made up opinion just to create contention and boost viewer ratings. I actually think most of the time they aren't expressing their true feelings because what would that do for the show if each week they all said yes we all agree this is the best one. The all have roles to play, and they all have a different favorite to play out the script, so who knows what they really do and don't like.

    • @DodgyBrothersEngineering
      @DodgyBrothersEngineering 6 лет назад +3

      I never said there was because there is no indisputable proof either way. Miracles happen, but with enough extrapolation anything can be justified or reasoned away. I believe based on what I have experienced in my life, but it is up to everyone to make up their own mind. I don't believe in fear mongering to get people to believe, but consider if there is a God, you die and you don't believe... I find it rather interesting that non believers think it makes life easier somehow when it is probably heavily stacked to the opposite, since no one has ever been persecuted for not believing throughout the ages. But that is getting largely away from the point of the majority of my post which is it's a show and opinions may be fabricated purely for effect.

      Most often it is not criticism, it is ignorance and stupidity. People constantly lie and blow things out of proportion when it comes to competing technology or anything that goes against money and lobbying like with the oil industry and the present car industry. Most of it is a perversion of capitalism. The oil industry and most who support it by what they do are acting like communists. Most americans by a majority dislike the franchise dealer model yet laws are preventing tesla from selling in some states. That goes against democracy and the will of the people.

    • @ariip

      If you actually knew anything and do your homework, Elon constantly seeks out criticism which is how he improves things so greatly and succeeds. He has spoken about this many times. The problem again is this so called criticism is not valid as it is based on jealously, lobbying, or spite. Most of these people are nothing more than stupid and jealous bullies who have more money and power and are just trying to beat those down who are trying to do better things. All because their success is threatened. They are pussies and do not want the competition which they clearly know is better than what they are doing. The are threatened and like children, get defensive and spiteful. They are like our present president. He is narcissistic too.

      Actually all is not as it seems with that review, it was a hell of a lot more fair than Musk made it out to be. I've explained this before so i'll copy and paste what i've written before: "The only thing that was "staged" in the Tesla Roadster test was that it had ran flat on the track and that they had to push it. In the same way that they might stage a supercar with a tiny fuel tank running out on the track having to be pushed when it might not have actually drained the tank entirely. The other claims, like the low power mode, braking issues, and the 55 mile on track range were all completely true. The script that the person who delivered the Tesla saw on the table was a basic outline of what they already knew about the vehicle from experience driving a different one earlier. The script also allowed for additional comments and observations to be added as Clarkson tested it through the day."

    We already know that electric cars is impressive because when you put your foot down you can get all the power immediately but the only drawback is the charging time and is the battery reliable and battery will degrade as you are using for some time.
    For me Tesla should spend more time to create a car that car perform all rounder better rather then just power and can go 0 - 100 km/h at 1.9 sec,their car price are also expensive so if they can't make a car overall better I would rather go for a proper car makers that they already make cars for many years and they know what they are doing and just switch it to electric.

      Also your electricity most likely comes from coal, and the manufacturing process causes more pollution because of the materials required. Also old batteries have no where to go and just wind up rotting away in the dump. There's a lot more problems with electric cars than just performance and cost.
      Meanwhile petroleum is still the most efficient and easily transportable form of propulsion, and still hasn't been proven to impact the environment

      @@DiggitySlice Electricity from coal is still more efficient that a gas car.
      Lithium battery packs can be recycled, and its cheaper to recycle than make from scratch because the lithium is already pretty refined.
      It is true that the manufacturing process is more damaging but the car more than makes up for it throughout its life.
      EVs have many flaws. Mention the true ones at least, like inferior range, inferior top speed and heavier vehicles which can result in worse handling.

    "The first time I reviewed a Tesla it was fair and hard hitting"... Except you were exposed by Tesla as having lied repeatedly during your scripted review about its reliability and battery capacity. As much as I like the Top Gear guys, their dislike of electric cars during the Top Gear days was obvious to all. Clarkson may have changed his tune now, but I don't trust him on the subject of electric cars.

      @zinthetic3822 6 лет назад +23

      No lawsuit was lost, the courts dismissed the case when Tesla didn't provide enough evidence of revenue loss or damage to the company. The other half of the case was about maliciously misrepresenting the Tesla abilities, to which the judge found that there was only a very slim if any case to be made for this. Top gear basically had to admit that when they pushed the Tesla to the garage it was not out of power, but rather claims that it would have been after 55 miles according to a calculation they did.
      Tl;Dr case was dismissed, not lost. Top gear admitted the Tesla never ran out.

      Ben B Realy? If you can't take the criticism stay out of the game...
      Elon was butt hurt about it because he knew Jeremy was kinda right. If you take the battery with the "theoretical" 220 miles you can only drive approximately 100 miles with it on the new roadster (real world conditions) meaning that this car is just a toy for the rich.
      If we are talking about practical use than electrical cars are up to this day still inferior to a good old petrol or diesel engine.

    I'm a Tesla and Clarkson fan. I have passion for technology and the future, and automotives, that does not mean I am an expert on either. However, I've learned how to tolerate Clarkson's behavior. Sure, his shows might be scripted, I find it entertaining. Others may not. Sure, electric vehicles from Tesla were initially not quite good like the misaligned panels on the Model X, but they learned from that, now they are making semis and 1.9 second acceleration vehicles. I like both.

    Tesla owners be aware of repair time and costs if you are in an accident. It has taken 8 months to get my model S repaired after an accident. No accountability for parts delivery and service was even worse. Body shop blames Tesla and Tesla service centre blames body shop. Repair protocol whether the damage is body or mechanical is still unclear between Tesla service and Tesla body shop. Total repair cost $45000 (paid by insurance ,since it was not our fault) and $20,000 of lease payments paid by us ( insurance does not cover lease or loan payments ) . Hence with a no fault accident we ended up $20,000 cost. Accident date first week of April 2017. Hope to get it back January 2018. Still waiting.

    For a car enthusiast, an electric car is not different than a tram. It has no sound, no engine rev, no RPM nothing. It is basically ON-OFF thing. Gas pedal is a switch, you press and it goes, quiet. It takes everything away what makes a car fun.... It is very hard to like a tesla. I wish that we would keep both electric and petrol cars at the same time instead of "trying to get rid of" petrol cars. Because we have to respect other people's taste too...

    Top Gear was sued because they scripted a breakdown that didnt happen. They also acknowledged this in the trial. But Tesla lost cause Top Gear is an entertainment show. But the fact still remains. The breakdown was scripted, made up, to make Tesla look bad, and give the petrol heads stuff to laugh about. So i understand why Tesla got pissed.

    • @tylerdurden3722
      @tylerdurden3722 6 лет назад

      They scripted "what would happen IF the car ran out of charge". The original Roadster running out of charge was a reasonable scenario to explore.(Considering charging stations were not as available way back then as now.)
      Plus, build quality really was really bad and it handled like shopping trolley. (still somewhat true today)
      Scripting a scenario where a car runs out of fuel for demonstration purposes is not unlawful. Hence the reason Musk lost...twice. I like the guy but this was childish...Trump-like even.

  • @007REAPER007
    @007REAPER007 3 года назад

    They said the car had failed and in fact it hadnt and when they got sued they said "we're an entertainment program not a factual show" and thats how they won in court.
