This album is so important to me. I remember going to see Fever Ray alone and they were dressed as a tree. Might have been the best show I've seen. I also remember listening to Keep the streets empty for me on repeat when I was completely heartbroken trying to walk drunk home in a winter storm. Ah, it's so nostalgic watching this video. I really love Fever Ray. "If I had a heart" was used as the title song for the show "Vikings" and it was only when I heard more than the first verse later on, that I realised it was a female voice. My favorites of hers is probably "Keep the streets empty for me", there is something about that one that transports my mind to another state of consciousness. Great for that last one to listen to before bed. Funny thing is she usually have a female proxy in her music videos and don't perform in them herself. At least in this area. Later on she acts in them as a created character, that... well, I can't even describe that character. It's a deep dive all on its own.

And Holy effffff it made the album one of my all time favs. And that's BIG for me. Cause I am very loyal to my concrete set albums that I call the BEST out there. It is so witchy and dark yet so real and relatable. Thanx so much. Definitely listen to the next one 'plunge' it's like fever ray was injected into an underground club. Pretty colors yet very cold wet brick. It's amazing!

Love this album. If I recall correctly Karin said she was inspired by the Jim Jarmusch film Dead Man to make it. That film itself has my all time favourite movie soundtrack, recorded in only two takes by Neil Young. Young simply watched the film at home and played his guitar to it, essentially reacting to the scenes musically.
I love this album and “keep the streets empty for me” is one of my favorite songs put my headphones on and get lost in. I’ll literally have it on repeat and just let it go and go

It's a stunning album. If I had a heart I get a lot of brown and green. That bassline is so brown lol, but a very beautiful brown. I think of being in a forest a lot listening to their music, same with The Knife. Their sounds are very organic sounding, which is ironic as they are all electronic. Yes, The Babadook is such a reference point for a lot of things. I loved that movie. I never associated it with that song, but I can see it. I think that death is a thread running through this album. BTW Stranger than Kindness is a cover of the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds song.
