I know we all say we want a knob, but when driving, do you turn up the sound using the knob, or do you use the steering wheel controls? I think majorityof us use the buttons on wheel as a primary. Great video!
I always use the knob. Good question. I wonder what most people do. Must be somewhat influenced by your controls. I find the knob instantaneous and the buttons on my car to be a bit slower.
I test drove it yesterday, and I felt like it was too heavy, which you can notice in the steering wheel, seats, and a lot of body roll, in my opinion. Also, you're surrounded by a lot of plastic. It felt more like I was sitting in a car worth under $30,000. Additionally, the normal recuperation system didn’t allow for hard acceleration. For over $150K CAD, I’d rather buy two gas-powered C-Classes. Mercedes gave us their worst car ever.
In fact, you don't have to get the 580 to get AWD, there is a 450AWD. Same HP, quite a bit more torque, slighty faster and a much smaller bump in price compared to the 580. The 580's exterior design has some additional cues that make it more interesting, particularly if you opt for the staggered wheel arrangement. Of course, that entails an additional outlay and lower range. Finally, you should can easily forgo the third row too, its only for kids.
I like Mercedes but I think they went too far towards aero dynamic efficiency in their electric cars. In my opinion a new vehicle is a purchase of the heart and an attractive design overwhelming plays into one’s desire to own the vehicle
Note that there is a creep mode that can be turned on and off. If you like one pedal driving, turn on strong recuperation and turn creep mode off. Personally, I’ve found the car feels like a lead brick with creep mode off. I’ve become accustomed to something I’d call hybrid one pedal. In most situations where I need to brake, I lift off the accelerator with strong regen turned on. But to come to a stop, I resort to stepping on the brake. The door handles need some work. You were doing it wrong, but it’s also a the intuitive way you’d try to use them. They need to pay more attention to way newbie users struggle and do it differently. My wife can rarely get the door handle to come out. After 3500 miles in 2 months of my EQE SUV, I’d also agree it feels every bit as premium and luxurious as you’d want and expect from Mercedes.
Forgot to mention, the all wheel steering function is incredible. It makes the vehicles much easier to maneuver. It’s a feature that you need to experience to appreciate.
Yah, ah no. lol There is nothing about this from what you have shown me that attracts me to it. The ironic thing is, as an EV brand Mercedes is where I would want to be.(over a Tesla)They know how to make your interior ride experience feel special. They know how to make quality that you want to interact with. And finally, as an EV choice market, it elevates the image about Mercedes from a mechanical/electronic nightmare(from the past)in repair problems and maintenance too easy to own and maintain. Minimizing cost of ownership. Purchase price and insurance is not going to stop biting you in the ass, but at least the quality control and premium interior feel in the ride is going to be superb for the money. IF I had to get an EV, Mercedes is where I would look 1st. (Dodge Charger prototype would be 1st if it were in production)
I like the looks. Very sleek. For that much money, the hood should open. Why? Because you should own your vehicle, not the dealer, and not MB. Also, it should have real buttons and knobs for the most often used controls.
Steering wheel controls look very busy to me. Too distracting taking eyes off the road to find a small capacitive finger slide switch or non-button button. Also not a fan of the chrome black piano finish on parts of the interior. These are dust, dirt, and fingerprint magnets. Otherwise, we'll have a look at one soon.
THE TRUTH: I've had my EQS for 2 months. It's not good with pot holes. Suspension is STIFF AND FIRM over bumps. The vehicle will shake. NO floating pillow ride over bumpy roads.
The correct word to describe this exercise in 'ugly' is "BLOATED" not "rounded". The car is hopelessly bloated; the forms are flaccid, heavy, bulbous......BLOATED. And all this can be yours for about the price of a 3BR/2BA house somewhere on the planet. GMAFB.
I think you’re supposed to swipe you’re hand across the door handle. The small indentation is for locking the the doors.
I work with these cars and you are correct,,, you slid your hand over the door handle and they pop out and to look you hit that small indent.
seems like a good deal to pick up used in a few years at a 50%+ discount
When it's out of warranty? Yeah, good luck...
@@lfsracer79 Guess you've never heard of extended warranties. Plus the batteries are covered for 10 years.
I'm a decade or so at 50% off
I just bought a eqe 350+ two weeks ago half off with 11k miles😎
We've had ours for 8 months and could not be happier. So glad we passed on the X!

Nobody mentions Service Availability in their reviews. There are Mercedes dealers everywhere.

“Fantastic Video” today. Curious if tomorrow will be “amazing”

I saw one in person and liked it more. Price is the issue for me. I like the looks of the boxy EBB more. Whole different class of car though.
Own one, love it!

I wish they took their design from the glc and gle coupes

No front trunk = NO SALE
It don’t need one
Only sheeps think that. Nobody use trunk.
I must have misunderstood. Did you say that to open the hood it must be taken to a dealership? If so that's ridicule's.
Ridiculous?
Wen the led bar goes out , does it require a whole front end removal 🤔
EVs need to focus on aerodynamics. My wife has the EQS 450 and it gets great range. In my opinion, a lot of that due to the low drag coefficient.
I love comfy suspension. My chevy volt and bolt euv had softer rides than my model y performance. I miss it
Glad you enjoyed it!! Fun video ...

MB Cost of ownership has been high fir decades.
See Lexus.
That is a nice ride!
Let's hope it doesn't get struck by lightning or maybe hacked.
What the interior color? Gray or beige? It hard to tell !
Crazy that the new Traverse y’all showcased has a way better finish to the under trunk storage. I thought this was a Mercedes 😂
I like the looks. Very sleek. For that much money, the hood should open. Why? Because you should own your vehicle, not the dealer, and not MB. Also, it should have real buttons and knobs for the most often used controls.
Well done bud
I like the POV video... that is important.

Nice

Don’t mind the electric motor dying after so many miles like they are in China and Mercedes didn’t want to fix it or issue a recall!
Definitely looks better than the Tesla X.
Best Car
10:56 I think that sounds terrible, but too each his own lol
It’s comparable to a Sub-Zero refrigerator.

Fntastic
I wouldn't say it's ugly, but the styling is very blah. Nothing really outstanding or interesting.
Ya lost me at the price…
Way too ugly for the price
