I frequent Coop's place. some of the best fried chicken and they serve it up with some damn good rabbit and sausage jambalya ever. then go right next door to molly's at the market place for a frozen irish coffee.
Cafe du Monde is so overrated. The beignets at Cafe Beignet are just as good and you don't have to wait in line for an hour! Also, they are French, not American.
I’ve been to cafe du monde 50 times and the only time I stood in line was when I wanted to get them to-go. Cafe beignet is good too tho. They’re both fine 🤷🏼♀️
Only tourists wait in the line... The line is just for To Go orders so if you see an empty table it is whoever grabs that table first and then you get table service! I am not the biggest fan of beignets period but if I get dragged off to eat them with tourists I might eat ONE minus the powdered sugar. I have been eating at Cafe du Monde since I was a tiny child and as a child arguing with the servers to give me plain black coffee with no milk as they would insist the coffee was too strong for a young lad like me and how their coffee was so much stronger but I always insisted and got it black the way I ALWAYS drank it for as long as I can recall after I explained I was a regular and knew exactly what I liked :)
As a NOLA native I roll my eyes every time I see Cafe Du Monde getting hyped up by tourist. To anyone who hasn't tried the beignets just go to your local state fair and get a funnel cake, they taste the same. Fried dough with powdered sugar, big woop. I would recommend a soft shell crab po'boy, thin fried catfish, boiled crawfish, char broiled oysters. Now you talking.
Brian Martin hey brian thanks for the suggestions! While I am usually not keen on going to every major tourist destination I will defend cafe du monde. Any business that can stay open as long as it has only providing a few options tells you something. They are as vital and a part of New Orleans as any of those other suggestions you gave. I appreciate your insight and I know cafe du monde is just a fried funnel cake in essence but to sit at a place that has been there for as long as it has and stood through wars, presidents, and natural disasters and it still serves thousands of people a day should be something to be marveled at and commended!
Cafe du monde is really good and tourists love it. A lot of locals love it too. No need for eye rolls. Good food is good food 🤷🏼♀️ I definitely agree about the chargrilled oysters. I had some from antoines last month and they were to die for 🤤
Glad y'all had fun and ate your way for a few days. Pro tip: at Dat Dog, you can build your own dog using any protein and bread choice you want as all of the toppings are FREE OF CHARGE, as in you can put all of them on your dog for no extra cost. Other restaurants to check out next time: Dooky Chase, Compere Lapin, Company Burger, Turkey and the Wolf, Bordeaux, Drago's in Metairie (the chargrilled oysters are the best), La Petite Grocery, Creole Creamery (best ice cream in the South).
Oh man..take me back to New Orleans!! You gotta admit, when visiting New Orleans it's more like a "Food-cation" than a vacation. We loved our time there and our favorite spots to eat was: Cafe Du Monde for the beignets and Gumbo Shop for the gumbo! Awesome work!
So much good food! Feeling so hungry now - thanks for that haha! Your videos really do make me want to explore America. Can't believe I've only been to Florida.
You went to some of my favorites. Next visit, do the fine dining at Commander's, seafood at Middendorf's, funky fun at Jacque-Imo's, and Bratz Yall for sausage sandwich. The dessert? Bred pudding souffle at Commander's.
As a New Orleanian I can ASSURE you that they dint fall or food central for nothing. I just recently ate at LUKES and wooooow just as good as I hoped. So many little hidden restaurants too. Also highly recommend Shayah and High Hat.
Across the street from the Cafe du Monde is one of the best restaurants in the Quarter==Tujaque's. . Oh the wonderful shrimp remoulade, jambalaya or boiled beel with horseradish sauce. Or Bon Ton with the world's best bread pudding and whisky sauce. Galatoire's, as elegant as any top Parisian restaurant. Commanders Palace for the best martini and great Creole dishes
Love New Orleans! Next to Portugal, no one does danish better!! I gained 6 pounds when we visited. Yeah! Banana Foster YUM! Great job guys love the descriptions and thanks for directions and prices! Don't forget the Hurricanes :)
This was great. Thank you for sharing! I've been to this fabulous city many times and some of our favorite spots; Muriel's for fabulous food, atmosphere and ghosts! The Carousel Bar, where we grab some pre dinner cocktails and then take our to-go cups for a lovely walk down Royal. The Court of Two Sisters for jazz brunch...the food is incredible. Of course you have to hit Frenchmen Street and especially the Spotted Cat for jazz. Faulkner House books... not food related but a cozy book store on Pirate Alley with a great selection. And no trip to New Orleans would be complete without a visit to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop for a voodoo. I could go on and on about this magical city.
It's incredible. I had been wanting to go for years and decided on a whim to do it and I can't wait to go back now. I highly suggest doing the walking tours on your first day to get a feel of everything. There's a food history tour that is 👌🏼
You definitely get a good value for our fine dining restaurants. Our poboys can often be the same price or sometimes more expensive than our fine dining restaurants for the lunch service.
Mmm, that Samoa doughnut looked amazing. So was the $15 chicken dinner way better than fast food fried chicken??? Mmm, bacon cheese fries, so yummy. A line for over 6 hours??? That's crazy! The dishes at Luke's looks incredible also. Haha, so much food. I hope you guys were there for a few days ;p Glad your car didn't get towed. Great way to end the night....bananas foster!
I used to live and visit frequently. Always enjoy Cafe Du Monde. It is also great to bring the box home and make them at home. The fulffer nutter looks good. I know someone who would prob become obsessed. How long did you wait to get into Willie Mays?
Nothing like Louisiana food. I moved to Florida when i was 5 or 6 however i remember the crawfish and Gumbo as a child. I will never forget the great food i have consumed. If you haven't have any cajun food ... You're missing out!

We had to have beignets at Cafe du Monde when we were in town too. I wanted to try Willie Mae's, but we didn't have time. Always a good sign when there is a line out the door. This video made me excited to go back to NOLA and eat.
I had crawfish pasta the first time we were there and it. was. amazing!! When we returned, they had taken it off the menu lol so this is a great list for when we go back.
My heart died when Uglesich's closed. Other places are doing the shrimp Uggie but it's just not the same. Mosca's is worth the trek to the Westbank and Brocato's satiates my gelato cravings.
Great video! Highly enjoyed it! Some really good suggestions. We are going at the end of November and will have to try a few of these! Keep up the good work!

Not sure I could stomach that. Although that shrimp po boy sure looked good. LOL at the car mishap. If I had a penny for everytime I risked it and then breathed a sign of relief that my car was still there...
Not gooey like peanut butter. It’s cooked through for sure but it’s gooey like a fresh Krispy Kreme donut out of the hot and fresh line! For sure cooked though!

The thing about NOLA is that youcan never predict the weather in the winter months. One year Mardi Gras was 39°, rainy & windy. The next year it was 80°, sunny & boiling. Pack for every temperature and always bring an umbrella no matter what time of year!
As a resident of NOLA I can tell you that Willie Mae's is the most overrated and overpriced fried chicken in NOLA. So many other places to get fried chicken in the city.
You have your opinion and we have ours. Odd how its one of the best rated, and extremely busy places, yet its overrated and overpriced?! Hmmm..I don't think the people eating there thought that!
@@TheJourneyest2016 I've lived in NOLA all my life and have eaten at far more restaurants in this city than you. So I'd like to think that I know which restaurants are the better or best eating establishments. I can guarantee you that the majority of those diners who were in Willie Mae's were tourists, like yourself. Try asking people who actually live for their opinions and recommendations before you use Yelp to choose your dining destinations. Hmmmm.
Darren L 👍🏻 sounds good let me know when you take the time to make a video on the best spots! Or you could just add to the discussion with some of your favorites. Not too complicated really. Have a nice night

I remember seeing one of your videos a long time ago and I definitely can see y'all have improved a lot!!!! keep up the good work!!! (and now im hungry)
Skip the line at Parkway by going to the many other shops that are so, so, so much fucking better. Parkway is perhaps the most overrated place in the entire city. Guy's Poboys are much better. Even Fat Harry's on St. Charles, which is a college bar, has a better fried shrimp poboy.
What is your favorite place to eat in New Orleans?
my mommas house, then Toups Meatery
For a touristy type place I'd say Drago's. For a smaller type place go with 9 Roses. The fish pot is awesome there
I love eating the hurricanes at Pat O'Briens
I frequent Coop's place. some of the best fried chicken and they serve it up with some damn good rabbit and sausage jambalya ever. then go right next door to molly's at the market place for a frozen irish coffee.

the best coffee bar is P.J's (for Phyllis Jordan), who has established coffee shops all over town.
Breakfast at Cafe du Monde (beignets and cafe au lait), Lunch at Galatoire's on Bourbon Street, dinner at Commanders Palace in the Garden District.

Yes please go there first, it is 1000% worth it!
I can't believe you didn't go to Antoine's.. i feel like im on hold with that music lol
Well since we were only there for a few days, we were kind of limited.
I was in Antoine’s last month. Best chargrilled oysters everrrr 🖤⚜️
I want a District desert! The donuts 🍩 are looking marvelous! Mouth watering 💦 😃
They were sooo good!
I just hate that everywhere I go in New Orleans there are so many people. Talk about an anxiety trip 🤐😢
Im sorry to hear that!
Don't let it beat you!
Try Little Dizzys, Willie Mae's Scotch house, Dookey Chases, Deanies, Brennan's
Did Lil Dizzy’s for lunch today. Phenomenal. Also doing Dooky Chase this trip.
3:02 Omg that is making my mouth water 🤤 looks soooo good
Very good! :)
If you want to standin line for hour or more for bitter coffee and dry pastries cafe du monde is your stop. Cafe beignets better with less of a wait.
Willie Maes... red beans and rice.... the best.

Have to try some of this. :)
Yes you do! :)
Cool glasses
Thanks :)
He’s a little light in the loafers
Yeah.... no
Wow I'm shocked about scarves and coats in new orleans for some reason I thought it was hot year round in the south
Yeah we went first week in March and it was a little chilly
Nope!! I lived there for a year in 2015-2016 and it was low mow cold on Fat Tuesday. I felt like I was back in NYC!!
The thing about NOLA is that youcan never predict the weather in the winter months. One year Mardi Gras was 39°, rainy & windy. The next year it was 80°, sunny & boiling. Pack for every temperature and always bring an umbrella no matter what time of year!
Next time visit Mais Arepas
Noted! :)

Where is your spot for fried chicken?
I remember seeing one of your videos a long time ago and I definitely can see y'all have improved a lot!!!! keep up the good work!!!
(and now im hungry)
Thanks so much :)
Thanks for the tip.
A French donut 👉👈
Yes..
I enjoyed this video...I have to try out Luke's
Ebony Prather Luke’s is banging! Thanks for watching :)
A lot of talking and not food showing 😕
Noted! We will try to do better about showing it more!
Voice over. Your videos would be a lot better if you show the food and voice over the history than y’all talking to the camera.
Thank you for the tip! We will work on that! :)
Those hosts are sooooo white!
L D. Omg I am white? I had no idea. This whole time I thought I was purple. I don’t know what I am going to do now.
Why does fluffer nutter sound dirty...?
