I love New Orleans; I’m going down this weekend with a trip to Biloxi. My go to restaurant is Antoine’s. The potatoes soufflé there are like eating fresh McDonalds fries in the best possible way. They are known for inventing Oyster Rockerfeller so that’s probably the place to try those. The Baked Alaska is amazing too, and it has a similar vibe as Galatories.
    Keep up the good work.

Finally! I’ve been waiting for a good video on the classic NO restaurants and you nailed it. The first piece of advice for a first time visitor is don’t eat anywhere that’s less than 25 years old. 😅 Where do we eat nearly every trip? Commander’s for sure. Mandina’s for seafood and Italian, though we also like Fausto’s in Metairie for lunch. Acme and Drago’s for oysters. My favorite French Quarter restaurant is Tujaques. Thanks for a great tour.

Very solid tour. Full disclosure, I’m kind of a New Orleans travel snob. I’ve been their over 20 times and have been all over town. Initially I found your choices a bit obvious and cliched but as I remind myself that this video is for first timers, I realize that you picked all very good spots for a quintessential New Orleans experience and a memorable trip for anyone going there for the first time who follows your plan.
On your next trip however, may I suggest the following:
    - Herbasaint
    - Toups Meatery
    - Cochon restaurant
    - Johnny’s Poboys
    - pesche
    - Jacque imo

During my business years I made many trips to MSY. All of your locations are winners. What you don’t get to as “tourists” is all the suburban restaurants that are just as good. These locations have chefs who are just as talented as those in the Quarter or Garden District. In fact I don’t think an ordinary restaurant can survive there.

That was the saddest Muffaletta ever. Central Grocery may have done it first but it's been a long time since they've done it best .

You may have missed the part of going for the “Classics” we didn’t call it the best but it has history

@@JoshRachael once again having lived in new orleans my entire life acme to be considered a classic is a joke. While they have been in city a long time only tourist would consider it classic.... Think places like Jacques-Imo's, Antoine's, Pascal's Manale.... my suggestion is when you go to places like NOLA do a little more research than the typical Acme
