  • Brazilian aerospace giants, Embraer, have secured a solid spot for themselves in the aviation industry over the past couple of decades.
They might not quite be at the level of behemoths like, Airbus and Boeing
However, it seems there’s been new developments within Embraer's E2 programme which could put them a bit closer in reckoning to Airbus and Boeing.
And for that we need to look at Europe.

Embraer makes a really good airplane. I wish for them the best. The more competition the better.

I often travel on 737-800 and E190 (E1) on regional flights... I am 1.78m tall and standard weight 80kg... the height from my shoulder to the window, the space available between legs and seats... the general comfort and interior silence are much superior in the Embraer...especially having only one seat next to it... these types of reasons are what passengers understand and value. And if they also consume similar fuel per mile and per pax... it's all said. Excellent video, greetings from Argentina

Everytime I get an embraer I feel very happy…lower cabin noises, better seats, soft landing and take off….this plane is much better for regional aviation….they are very reliable and cheaper to run….not to complain at all…

Embraer should either take some risks and build a bigger plane that can compete with Airbus and Boeing or focus on their more successful market with their light jets.

American Airlines placed an order for 133 Embraer planes this month, at London City Airport. 70% of landings and takeoffs are on Embraer planes, as they are quieter and use less fuel... Embraer saved Ilha Airport of St Helena from being closed, as no plane was able to land on the Island due to the strong winds, only the E-190 managed, and saved the Airport, images from this Platform below.

Interesting video, but negative points for using interior shots that showed 3x3 seating, definitely NOT from Embraers. "You see," that's really lazy, IMO.

Though I’ve never ridden on an Embraer, I am very excited for them and what they may bring to the aviation industry. They seem to be very focused on mastering each rung of the ladder they climb before rising to the next. It’s refreshing to see that patient ambition and determination in contrast to the overspread and complacent establishment nature that Boeing has adopted.
New competitors arriving amidst two juggernauts is needed right now.

That's a remarkable airplane. It is also very dependable in terms of maintenance, which at the end of the day that would keep the plane flying longer instead of being grounded for an unscheduled repair.

Interesting video on a great aircraft series. I’ve had the pleasure of flying as a passenger on all the first generation E series (except the 170) as well as a 190E2 and a much earlier E145. 2+2 seating is much more comfortable. They’re great from the passenger viewpoint, their relatively small capacity largely avoiding the seating struggle common on A320s and 737s. One point; in the same way as the plural of sheep is sheep so the plural of aircraft is aircraft (no s unless it’s possessive.)

I think even possessive ‘s for non animated objects is weird though. “Aircraft’s engine” sounds not right for me

They certainly hold an edge so far, Airbus seem to be holding off waiting for new developments in the next decade or so before making a clean sheet design to replace their A320-family.
Either case more competition is good and Embraer have certainly found themselves a profitable niche, it should help spur more innovation, hopefully without cutting corners..

The E2 would have been much better if Embraer had chosen the GE NG34. What happens is, the P&W GTF used, in its PW1900G form on the E190-E2, is only 11% more efficient than the CF34-10E it replaces. The GE NG34 would have been at least 15% more efficient than the CF34, and it would definitely have been far more reliable. I read somewhere that the reason Embraer chose the GTF was because it was already running in tests, whereas the NG34 was a concept that hadn't been built yet, so it seemed that the GTF was the safer bet. What a miscalculation that was!

Embraer wasn't smart when they designed a new airplane that cannot fly in the biggest market.. Because of scope. In the other markets it's an odd ball. The Airbus 220 is much superior. None of these noise limits will be enforced until Airbus has a solution in place.

    • @RandomMichiganGuy
      @RandomMichiganGuy 6 месяцев назад +13

The A220 was a complete and total failure of an aircraft when it was still the C series. The only reason it is selling is because Airbus took over the aircraft from Bombardier.
