  • The 2022+ VB WRX has been out for a couple of years and it’s one of our favourite go anywhere do anything and have fun while doing it car. We are not alone and a lot of you guys are enjoying these cars. What makes an already good car even better is of course more power.
    The FA24 does not disappoint. It makes other Subarus envious of its power delivery and capabilities and in this video we show you guys what it takes to make the VB a properly quick WRX.
    Come along as we tune the VB on both pump and E50 fuel and compare it to the STI and VA WRX.
    Thank you Sky for letting us make your car faster ( / shortie_skyyy )

    I'm picking up my 2024 VB WRX tomorrow.. 12 hours and 30 minutes from the time of this post, actually. I'm not counting the hours and minutes, but.. well, yeah. I am a bit excited to get behind the wheel of the VB. I currently have a 2015 VA WRX which has.. rod knock. Surprise, surprise! Long story, short.. VB coming tomorrow to replace the VA. 🤘🤘

      The 2024 VB WRX I believe the ECU is locked so tuning is going to be a little difficult

    • @Antykain
      @Antykain 2 месяца назад +3

      @@matthewlituma9407 No, it's not locked. Thankfully. Confirmed this with a local tuner. I am however not going to tune it for the time being, leaving it stock. Cosmetic exterior and interior mods on the other hand, well.. game on. Eventually I will go the pro-tune route though. This is a given. My other VA WRX didn't last long before it was pro-tuned as well. 🤙

    As soon as I saw videos of stock VBs pulling on Stage 1 OTS tuned VAs, I knew something wasn't right with the advertised numbers. Subaru is definitely underrating these FA24s (not that it's a bad thing) and I'm glad you guys explained that

    The VB is a powerful engine, however it's limitation is the gearbox and drivetrain which the STI has.over the VB, a match made in heaven would be and STI drivetrain and gearbox in the VB chassis.

      Not necessarily the AWD system in the VB is simplified and works fantastic.

    • @stratifiedauto
      @stratifiedauto  2 месяца назад +4

      Yes the drivetrain is the same as the VA WRX for the most part. It works well but not as stout as the STI was. The STI transmission does swap in. It’s a bit of a project and you need a tranny, rear diff, driveshafts, clutch and dccd controller. We did this to our VA WRX and it works great.

      @@Imprezalove It cant hold much HP around 350 tq and 400 hp for the stick the CVT is a joke for holding power. Lot of people are breaking the trans in the vb.

    • @Imprezalove
      @Imprezalove 2 месяца назад +2

      @@VvVZzZ00 Yeah sure, but most people arent trying to do a transmission swap and drivetrain swap, and most people arent attempting those numbers. Although I believe you are being conservative on the tq number. If memory serves me people do square up 400hp and 400tq and maintain their wrx transmission. Peoplle need to understand that even without the dccd, the transmission, the driveshaft, axles and so forth, that the VB is plenty without all of that. Would it have been nice from factory? 100% but a drivetrain swap is a big job, period. The VB AWD system with its computer inputs to me works fantastic. But yeah expect to break damage a transmission pushing those numbers.

      @@Imprezalove100% agree, I don’t see why people always have to put in their 2 cents of STI transmission and how much GREATER it would be with.. Sure it’d be nice, but the VB is amazing as is. in the end most VB owners aren’t trying to get more than 350whp let alone 400..
