    Just going on your rant, as a new player I understood what sesesoned wood was in a real life was a year ago from my military history background and knowing getting seasons wood stocks was a challenge for war time economy. Why German and Russia swapped to laminated/plywood during ww2. So I had THAT advantage of knowing that season wood was wood that had been dried out aka "seasoned" due to that. Also I understood that live and white oak in history was the preferred wood type. But, until I was handed the NA map and look though the stats list that's there did I understood the wood types. I mean it's cool that it's in the game, but they don't explain it at all to new players. I always direct new people to the NA map due to there tools.

    To William R.
    you get seasoned woods a few different ways. #1 is go with a group of players in big ships and do HDFs (Home Defense fleets) each ship you sink has a wood chest on board. #2 PvP, go out and sink players that are in 3rd rates or above. after 10 kills you get a wood chest but make sure you pick up that PvP mission. #3 buy the seasoning shed permit and build the shed in a port that produces Tools, you then take the woods you need to season over to that port with the shed and season the wood yourself. (this cost money, tools and Labor hours to do). #4 buy it from ports like La Tortue, La Mona, Tumbado, Aves.

      Yeah I wanted to ask the same. If there is Frame .. I think it is inside of the ship, .. skeleton of the ship.. and Planking is the outer shell... that should be tanky to bounce those cannon shots. But English is not my first language so I mite not understand it correctly.

      Sides have armour+hp and can bounce, hull just has hp. The wood on frame has bigger effect. Both frame and trim affect hull and sides. I think the recommandition should be "if redeemimg always seasoned" and there are some seasoned woods that are inferior in all aspects to other seasoned woods. Overall, i think you need to decide if you are building your ship for speed, for max armor or max hp or jack of all trades. This is based on encounters you expect. You cannot have ship to excel in everything.

    isnt frame on the inside planking on the outside?

    • @LeatherCladVegan
      @LeatherCladVegan 2 года назад

      I'm fairly certain that the outside walls are considered a part of the frame, and the planking is basically the decking.
      Because if you think about it: what would a frame be without a shell? It would just be a mast and a keel. Thus; the 'walls/outsides' are part of the frame, I should think.

  • @swiftbear

    Is it even worth a solo player to get into shipbuilding? It's only the clans that can reliably gather the other woods correct? Or if you only want to fir/oak ships all day, which no one does.

    • @Rook2299
      @Rook2299  3 года назад +1

      you can solo the game yes. its not recommended. and if you buy the DLC that helps you have more outposts and building that will help as well. BUT in the end you will still need to buy things out of the shop, and you will still need to do all the work of gathering these materials to build ships. the big issue is that you will not get the same bonuses that people in a clan are getting off that port. assuming you are crafting ships in the correct port. to fix that problem you create your own clan. but even then the owner of the port needs to add your clan to friends list. so best you just join a clan, makes this game 10x easier.

All video tutorial should be shorten, cut, talk strait to point to teach. And all naval action video tuto are so annoyinly long. Audience of this game is not huge. One way to make it grow is to make qualité video. I dont mean, expensive video. But at list cut, strait to point. If all the point cant be cover in one resonnable video lengs... then its perfect! That mean there is many different interesting point to cover. do one video for each point to cover. Its like the tutorial in naval action. Its actualy divided in differente fight tactic. So you can do little by little without be bored. Imagine all the tutorial have to be done in one time... its doable of course but fuck i dont wanna do it. Its same. Naval action need good short content videos 5 to 10 mins. It uncrease audience as when they see a 5-10min video that may not cost them too much time if they dont learn anything in the video.
