  • In this video I take you behind the scenes on a bride and groom portrait photo shoot in a bad location, which was a challenge. Learn how to look, find and create better photographs in boring and ugly locations to improve your skills in photographing awesome pictures anywhere.
I had so much fun creating this RUclips video for you guys. I love a good photo challenge so it was really fun to find ways to get creative in this boring location. Learn how to find new ways to see light, create moments and gain skills to be a better wedding photographer by coming behind the scenes as I get creative in the most boring location.
    ☆ EQUIPMENT ☆
For this photo shoot I photographed all the images with my Canon 5Dmkiii with my Canon 50mm 1.2L lens and the Canon 24mm 1.4L lens. For my wedding photography my go to set up is the Canon 35mm 1.4L lens combined with the Canon 85mm 1.2L lens.

Was this Golden hour Toni? Show us how to take portraits in a junk yard. Just kidding nice work. I've had some bad sites to shoot at. Make the best of it.

Hey Eric, I don't think this was golden hour but it was a really sunny afternoon! I'd love to shoot in a junk yard ha ha! It just shows that you don't need a perfectly pretty back drop to get creative 🙂

Hi Toni, saw you on Magmod and thought you great on there, so Subscribed to. Always wondered how people expose. Now you exposed by shooting your hand. So once done did you then use those settings for the shot in manual ? Like when people expose some say the brightest place ie the sky, so why the hand wouldn't the wedding dress be the brightest ?. Could you do a video on exposure and actually what you expose for first in a few shots ? ps hope to see you and Neil Redfern together along with Ray Sawyer, ps not a Photographer but taken a n interest while we were in lockdown. Regards Jon

      Hey Jonathan!
Thank you so much! ha ha yeah I always use my hand, I'm sure people think I'm a bit crazy wandering around with my hand out at weddings! I just want to expose correctly for the skin as I am shooting people, but I'm also careful not to blow out the highlights in the brides dress too.
Yes of course I can, that's an excellent idea! I'll defo make that happen! I think it would come hand in hand with posing too 👌
That's awesome that you've found a new interest in photography! Trust me it won't be long before someone asks you if you can photograph a wedding!
Neil is a great friend of mine, we do have something in the pipeline for RUclips however we work together quite often so you'll probably see us in each others videos! I'm yet to meet Ray but I'm all for a MagMod hangout! 🙂
