its 2 am, im lonely, im sad, and im scrolling through my subscriptions and find this video, I subscribed 3 years ago when I wanted to learn more about photoshop, and the first line you say is ""i want to remind you each moment is a new moment and that you can turn it around." and thats exactly what I needed to hear right now, even though this is a photoshop tutorial... thank you
You did it again. Make me stand up from the couch and run over to my PC to try this trick and be completely amazed about it. Do these type of videos ten times a day and I will start calling you my personal trainer because of all the physical exercise I will get from walking between my couch and computer. Thank you as always.
You've helped my business so much. I was a complete PS novice and you taught me a lot. I was overwhelmed 😪, and now I can navigate edits fluently. Thanks Unmesh
I’m not an editor but my boyfriend is. Long ago, I took an art class that taught me how to use photoshop back with CS2. I learned from a textbook how to edit stuff step by step. One of the things they taught was how to sharpen stuff. It used Gaussian blur to fix motion blur of a taxidermied bear. I remember adjusting the numbers in Gaussian blur in greyscale and then like magic, it was tolerably in focus. I’ve spent YEARS trying to convince my boyfriend that you can use Gaussian blur to fix motion blur, which he is convinced is impossible to fix. With your tutorial, I can finally prove him wrong. So thank you for validating me!
If you convert to greyscale before you use high pass, you loose a lot of detail.-> if two different colors next to eachother have the same colorvalue (same greyvalue when converted), you loose their contrast/edge -> which causes it to not be picked up by the high pass filter.
This is probably the first time I leave a comment here. I'd like to thank you for what you've been doing all these years to spread knowledge. I mainly do street photography and other types of photos on the smartphone, just to train my eye for spotting opportunities and to improve composition skills, and of course I rushed to try out this sharpening method right away this evening. It really works. Thank you, good sir, and God bless you, too!
I learn so, so, so much from you. even your little "aside" moments are packed full of useful techniques. For instance, the history snapshot - always wondered if that was possible. And your 10 seconds of motivation on this video - reminding me that I can turn a day around at any moment... just beautiful. Thank you for everything and have a wonderful day.
I don't care who you are as and editor. Either it be 20+ years or think you know Photoshop like the back of your hand, you will always learn something new. Especially from Unmesh channel. As an editor myself since the early 2000's, some of the techniques you show folks, if they really pay attention actually opens many doors when editing far beyond the tutorials you present them. Great stuff brotha!
There are others besides myself who get excited when we see a new idea such as this. Thank you Unmesh, your support is a guiding light to a community of followers.
Bro this is not just one video of yours I’m talking about but honestly , you are an amazing teacher , and the way you do these tutorials it’s just soooo helpful and it’s like you were made for this purpose, the way you teach it’s just a blessing to learn from you , please don’t change and stay same, god bless you brother , please keep us teaching like this 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I just used this video tonight to sharpen a portrait for a relative's memorial. It worked very very well. Thank you so much for sharing your vast knowledge. God bless.
Fantastic video! Thank you once again! First of all, it's true....every moment is a new moment. Where I live we say, "If you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes". But everyone can refresh each moment, we can adjust our sails and continue moving forward. Takes practice. I have returned to your many videos time and time again to revisit Photoshop topics when I don't remember something. I mention you to people who hate art, hate computers, and especially hate Photoshop. Why? Because your bright spirit, sincere desire to help others and to contribute to other's happiness, together with your attention to detail, acquired technical prowess, diligence, ability to teach and share, and so many other great qualities, can benefit and encourage others universally in whatever they love; in any field of human endeavor.

For what it’s worth, this Vivid Light technique works perfectly with the VERY LIMITED Photoshop for iPad. The iPad version has just the necessary filters and tools necessary to make it happen. For all of us waiting patiently for Adobe to give us a real mobile workflow experience on iOS, being able to use this technique gets us one step closer. I use it all the time now. Thank you Unmesh!
This video is not only useful and maybe sometimes a life saver but it also shows real, real expertise and cleverness. Wow! Greetings from Europe and a big Thanks!
my day honestly brightens as soon as i see piximperfect's videos, live i've been just watching his videos and then when i got photoshop i was like. wait a minute, i know what im doing
Reading this comment definitely brightens my day, Alekzy! Thank you so much for your support, and I'm delighted to know that you're navigating your way through Photoshop!
Hi Unmesh and thanks for Your always inspiring channel! I have to say that this method is very nice but, You can obtain same results by simple Hi-pass, You just have to put the Hi-pass layer in vivid light instead of overlay... You can also use it in linear light for an even greater sharpening effect. I'm involved in astrophotography and I always use these kind of sharpening tecniques. If You create several layers of Hi-pass with a decreasing kernel (blur) sizes one on top of each other, You're actually make what we call a wavelet sharpening function. Anyway many of Your videos inspired me alot in the creation of new techniques to be applied on astronomical photos so... Thank You very much and keep going!
This is such a fantastic channel. This particular lesson struck a chord with me after coming home from a vacation with a few pictures I thought were unusable until I used these methods. Thank you for your constant stream of inspiration! You're genuinely my favorite PS teacher on RUclips by far!
If Unmesh will have a course of learning Photoshop, I will definitely buy it. By the way, I want a tutorial of Unmesh's hair style so I can ask the barber to cut my hair like him. 🤩🤗😊
Truly appreciate your support, Carl. Thank you so much! PS: Whenever I go to a new barber, I show him my older profile picture. That helps a lot, haha.
bro u saved my motion blurred wedding photographs ! I recovered dozens of photos by watching your tutorials. Thanks a lot.. Specially I'm a beginner photographer.
My brother...you are one of the best things that has ever happened to this world. I cannot pay you for the wealth of knowledge you share so freely. God bless you real good.
My hero! Now I have to try this method, since I'm using HP for the past 3 months on my work and it's been absolutely perfect, especially since I made an action and I have a macro set for it. The girl in the image is Antonia, a romanian "singer" (if anyone wants to know).
I have to say that was the classiest Patreon plug I've ever heard. Usually I don't like it when a guy begs for money in the middle of a video but " if you are feeling too grateful" is perfect. Maybe I've been too judgmental about the Patreon
Thank you. I tested the action with 2.5 Gaussian blur (from the default 3) and I like the result. Subtle but the before and after comparison shows a very good improvement.
I watched this video ages ago and knew there would be a time that I would come back to it. This evening was that time, I went out and got lots of exposures of the moon before it got dark, then used a median stack in Photoshop to remove all the ISO noise, and then a Vivid light sharpening, and the results blew my mind! Thank you Unmesh :)
I love your videos. They are my go to sources for Photoshop techniques. I like that you explain everything and how you get right to the point without a bunch of chitter chatter. It doesn’t hurt that you also have a beautiful accent. Thank you.
Unmesh, I could listen to your videos all day without following any instructions 😆😂 so entertaining and motivating :) thx for putting so much effort in it!
This sharpening technique is now my go-to method in most instances. Holy cow, this is probably one of the best sharpening techniques I've tried. THANK YOU!
I saw this video a year ago, and I've used this tip so many times since then. I've even recommended this video to friends as an introduction to PiXimperfect. So useful!
Another option : duplicate layer, filter>high pass, then set layer to overlay. And your pic will be sharper. You can change sharp intensity by adjusting radius in high pass option.
Man I learned a lot from this and this works in Clip studio too in case anybody wonders. The process is a bit different but if you follow this and simply make a few changes by playing around. It works.
It's not very often I see something that makes me not believe my eyes, but when you blurred and things got _sharp,_ I was totally flummoxed. I've been using High Pass for years, and think it's the bees knees, but I've got to give this a go. Thanks so much!
Hi, I follow you from Sardinia (Italy) and even if I don't understand English well I have learned a lot of things from your videos. You are great, keep it up
This appears to only work on photographs, like the examples in your video that are fairly sharp, to begin with (or very slightly soft). If the image is noticeably blurred, I have found that this technique does not do much to correct it.
If My shoot was out of focus. It’s impossible to brought it back. Don’t waste your time on it. Just made sure your shoot is more than 3 or set up with stacking focus on customer set up.
Wow! Thanks so much for the free download, it's very rare to get something for 'free' in this day and age that is actually useful and works. This is going to be a game changer for my workflow, looks really good at 50% opacity.
