  • We take a look at some common mistakes with our footwork after certain shots. These dos and don'ts break down what footwork we should be using when we recover in badminton. This will help you to get to the shuttle earlier when attacking and counter attack when defending.
    Let us know which of these you get wrong and right in the comments below.

    Thanks for all your videos! The mistakes are so subtle and not caught on by other tutorials. I see a mirror of myself in all the error versions, but it's good to know that I can take steps to improve those specifically rather than being frustrated at why I play poorly and not knowing why and how I can fix it! There's so many small things in badminton that makes a player good vs. weak and following other online guides is really not enough! :)

      Lilli, thanks for the nice comments and glad we could really help you. Yes your right badminton is so technical and there are subtle things we can change that will make a big difference. So we hope we've helped you improve your game and hopefully future videos will do the same.

    good video guys and especially the use of the split-screen. I liked the information about the change of stance after the fh block into a racket foot forward rather than square. There was far less reference to "splitting in the direction you want to move" as in previous videos, was this intentional?
    I like these shorter 'dos and dont' videos. Sometimes the images on the screen in the demos are all you need.

    • @JacobsBadminton
      @JacobsBadminton  2 года назад

      Thanks for the nice comments Andy. These videos with the voice over allow me to be more specific and get my points across. The previous video your referring to I would say was more basic and getting people to split in the direction the shuttle goes is a good starting point to understand how to split from the middle.

    During smash recovery if the opponent hit it to back what to do?

    • @JacobsBadminton
      @JacobsBadminton  2 года назад

      Hopefully you can still get it but the main thing is to use this footwork after a good smash when the opponent is under pressure where they will nearly always play a straight net return.
