Awesome tutorial. Drop-shot in general is something that I find needs a certain "touch" so I have some difficulties doing it. Your breakdown on each one was perfect. Thank you Tobias.
Great tutorial. I used to play at the club level 40 years ago. We used to call the stop drop the floating drop. It was and is one of the most potent attacking shots ever.
@@tobiaswadenka8435 Yes, please. I have gone through all your clear and smash tutorials multiple times. They really helped me. But I am still failing to get a 100 clean shot i.e. with full face of racquet. Since that part of the swing is very fast, can you please give a slow motion of the swing and break it down especially the part from 'bringing the elbow front' till the 'impact to the shuttle'. That will help us to understand how to hit very clean shots.
Is it wrist or the forearm or both which changes the face of the racquet from parallel to perpendicular to the shuttle in the swing. And the same swing to explain how to give directions to the smash (cross court).
Drop 4: most important for that shot is Shoulder Axle. Raquetshoulder should be the other one. Thats why doin the crosscourt-shot is easier in the beginning. Best regards Pro Coach ;) By the way: wadenka ist right now the only one on RUclips who s got real Expertise!
Thanks Tobias for the video ! Always great content ! If you are not an heavy smasher like me, those drop shot will get you sooooo many points ! Even against stronger opponents ! It's just insane ! Can't wait for the next videos ;-)
@@tobiaswadenka8435 well, what about a tactical video ? How to place yourself on court after a certain shot for example ? Or maybe how do you prepare yourself physically ans mentally for a big tournament : how do you train, what do you eat, how do you manage pressure... Stuff like that 😉
An absolutely amazing vide!! Each shot is explained properly👍🏻I don't even wait till the video finishes to comment cause I know that it's gonna be amazing!!!! I play for 7 years now and just started to play sliced shots. I feel like a complete fool not to do so before as it is so effective (on my level at least)
I think i got what i should training for this weekend, i really want to learn drop shot bcs my smash isn't really powerful (also my posture is on shorter side even for normal guy) so many times i played drive rather than smashing. Thx for the tutorial!
Bruhh, i am 14, just wanna improve my drips and i just realised i have been doing all these corectly from past 7 months and the fun part is i have never been to any acedemy, i just have 1 hour for 5 days of week in which i just warmup and play matches. Holy crap it would be so difficult if i hadn't learned this automatically, but thus video really helped me to improve more. Thanks broffessor
tobias chan what grip do you recommend in doubles when we waitin for a drive from the opponents?? i havent found my preference in replying with backhand nor forehand drives yet 👶👶 gonna do the drops while waiting 👍
Hi Kim, i made a series on this together with Gronya Somerville, here is the first video about basics in doubles: ruclips.net/video/EeWABDrlma8/видео.html in the description you find links to all the other videos like positioning, defence, attack, etc.
On the receiving end of the drop shots , should you seduce your opponent with a space to make them think you cant get to it? I quite often do this but sometimes misjudge the space and I really cant get there.
I tried the slice many times and failed every time The shuttle going below the net I play the normal and stop drop frequently When the shuttle is new the stop drop is best but once the shuttle is got old after few points stop drop always hit the net due to lack of speed from shuttle
Not really, you basically hit them all with a standard v grip. You can adjust a little when you hit the slices to get more on the side of the shuttle but if you turn too much it becomes to obvious what you are going to do, at least against experienced players
@@tobiaswadenka8435 is that 3U or 4U version? G4 or G5? You should just add this to your video descriptions every time, seems like a lot of people asking the same questions about equipments! Hehe

I usually try to do drop right behind the net. Tricky but doable.
Hey bro, good videos, keep up the good works👍 by the way, i’m interested to the shuttle machine😂
I made video review on the machine and in the descrption you find all the Details: ruclips.net/video/ixyK9L_A9wY/видео.html
